Wild because I’m headed to the pumpkin farm with a bunch of kindergarteners!
What’s everyone else doing?

I'm at work and still coughing. I think klong11 sent her never ending cold to me & H. M was coughing this morning, too.

This morning was "Dudes and Donuts" day at S school, so MH took him in early for breakfast. The school is smart and has the book fair going on now too so he bought some books.
S has been so nervous about odd stuff lately. Like a few days ago he told me he didn't want to go to the Halloween parade b/c he didn't want people looking at him. Then this morning, MH said he got so worked up that he was going to be late to school (he was AT the school for the breakfast, just in a different room), that he started crying. It is so unlike him, I'm not sure what his deal is. I'm wondering if it's related to the article someone posted the other day about sleep in Kindergarteners. It said they should be getting 12 hours at this age? S hasn't gotten 12 hours in... years. On average he's probably at 9.5-10, sometimes more, sometimes less. But he almost always wakes up saying he's not tired anymore and can't go back to sleep so I'm not sure what to do with that.

I’m meeting a lady this morning before heading to the pumpkin farm to buy an adaptive stroller for S. It’s absolutely ridiculous that some of this stuff costs so much. It’s a $800 stroller. I’m buying it for $300. It’s allegedly only been used once and her daughter hated it. So 🤞I’m getting a good deal. But it’s good for up to 110lbs so should last us a long time! She still needs the stroller for long distances and such. My back can’t take continuing to lug her around so much.

Morning. I fell into a deep, deep hole last night looking at some of my ancestry. Turns out I’m related (very, very distantly) to Claude Monet. Because of that I couldn’t fall asleep and was up way too late. So I overslept and we missed the bus. Drop off line wasn’t as bad this morning and H made it to school on time so that’s ok. My body is really achy this morning, and I’m not sure why.

Morning!
Checking in from speech; C always grabs this I Spy book they have in the waiting area and it is the most annoying, least visually appealing book ever. And yet she loves it 🤦🏻♀️
Not much on the agenda otherwise. I have a load of stuff I want to take to the kids consignment place this week but I don’t know if I’m up to dealing with that today 😂

Morning!
I tried to get my oil changed after dropping the kids off, but the wait was too long. I made an appointment for tomorrow. I also need tires so I need to schedule that, too. Bye bye monies.
Think I’m going to roll the paint in the guest room so that can be done. I have some picking up to do around the house, and then we have a fall festival later after I pick the boys up. Mh leaves tonight for for an away game tomorrow, so we won’t see him until Friday.

tgrimes, hey now, don't be blaming me! I'm still coughing, by the way, I think it's my reflux at this point, so when I see my doctor tomorrow, who is insisting I need to get off my reflux medicine, I'll ask her for a gastro referral. I can't get off the meds lady, I can't eat without them! Ragweed is super high right now, so Cadence and I are pretty miserable. If anyone is wondering how many more days until Halloween, it's 8. Cadence started a countdown last night. And she keeps repeating it, just in case you didn't hear her the 100 times she already said it. Then she runs through all the numbers. Tomorrow is 7, then 6, then 5, then 4...you get it.

klong11 my reflux caused me a lot of coughing too. The dr tried to blame it on my BP meds, but when we switched, it didn’t stop. I definitely think you should see a gastroenterologist at this point. They will probably want to scope you.

Morning! Thankful it’s Wednesday. Tuesdays are my least favorite day and so so busy. I have to make 5 trips into town and then am left with 45 min to and hour at home on between trips and it’s just a pain to get anything done and try to fit in nursing L. So yesterday was a long day.
Today is the opposite, H is at my parents for the day, so it’s just me and L home. We’re snuggling now, but I do need to get some stuff organized and finish the boys’ room. I’d like to get out for a walk but the high is only 45... maybe we‘ll bundle up.

But he almost always wakes up saying he's not tired anymore and can't go back to sleep so I'm not sure what to do with that. C has been very nervous lately too! I think it's all the changes since starting kindergarten and becoming more aware of his peers (and being around older kids). Last year at conferences the teacher talked about how he's the class clown and SO funny. This year his teacher said he's very serious and gets easily nervous. Even things like birthday parties, a skating event, school, ect which he never would have thought twice about. Luckily he gets very quiet, will say he's nervous but then seems to adjust and get over it pretty quickly. Side note, his teacher said he came up to her and was like, "Mrs. S., I'm feeling VERY nervous". Then when she started talking to him about it he said, "Is.la said she can take her eye out". Turns out Is.la has a glass eye (and I think it's a coincidence that her name happens to be Is.la which made me chuckle a bit because I thought it was cute).

We had M's conference last night and he's made great progress already this year. She said his only behavioral issue is that he distracts himself. He's fidgety and hyper. Which I was expecting, he's like that at home too. She was very happy with how quickly he's learning his sight words. She said he's a good hearted, sweet kid. Which is my favorite thing to hear. Especially since we see so much meanness because of him and J fighting. At least he reserves that just for his brother 🤦♀️ .
When she said he was hyper A was like "thats nothing, wait until you have Jackson" 😬 Poor teacher!

Runner update: she decided she would come in at 9:30. Her clocks are clearly messed up because she showed up at 10:15.

This week is creeping along. I'm motivating myself by planning my days off for the rest of the year. Over 5 use-it-or-lose-it days over here.

My house is a disaster and I have to start packing for my little weekend trip. I haven’t gotten in my workout yet and I binged on gummy frogs for breakfast.
But, I did get everyone to school on time and it all went relatively smoothly.
I want to call out tired, but my kids, the rabbit, and my boss would probably riot.

My radio station is on a countdown to Christmas, it's only 63 days away. You're welcome.
We should start a gift thread, I need ideas.

jewels I think that it's pretty 'normal' for the kids to realize that their world is s much bigger and are affected by what we think are little things. B sometimes gets fixated on the most mundane shit, like insisting on wearing a certain shirt where in the almost 6 years he's been here he's given zero fucks about his clothes, I chalk it up to peers and if there are tears involved it's an earlier bedtime. I've also become very strict with our weekends that there is one day that the kids can lounge in their jamjams, eating snacks and being lazy all day. They need it and LOVE it. They lounge and I putz around the house getting things done, meal prep and make a delicious dinner, it's perfect.
