I'm having some family over for lunch. Later going to a bbq. Both dh and I have tomorrow off. Excited to spend the day just us...kids are going to DC. Still no actual 4th of July plans. I'd like to go and watch some fireworks somewhere.

Hoping to score a nap this afternoon. H has to work tomorrow, but is off Tuesday/ Wednesday. I plan to take full advantage those days and nap as well.

I have to work tomorrow. 😭 I get Tuesday off but it's a real bummer to not actually get a long weekend for the holiday.

We are thinking about going to see fireworks but I'm not sure how loud it'll be and we don't have ear muffs. There were a couple of big booms that startled even me. But nothing consistently loud. If it's a little cool or breezy maybe a big knit hat that covers his ears could muffle some sound.

littlelion it is supposed to cool off later in the evening - a hat is a good idea! I can't remember if your bf-ing or not, but if you have any nursing pads you could put them over his ears under the hat for extra sound muffling. I'd then hold my hands over his ears too.

OMG J has been sleeping horribly and woke up at 4 this morning and stayed wide awake after feeding. H took him at 6:30 and of course he "slept like a rock" for him, but now I have my fussy baby back and H has gone off to work. I'm going to try and visit my office with him although little fussypants may not be too fun to have around today.

So I have the Wonder Weeks book but is the app different/better and should I get it? I only have the app. (side note - it is literally the ONLY app I have ever paid for) There are times the app refers you to the book for more information. So while the it's helpful in that it automatically tracks where your LO is along the Wonder Weeks timeline, I'm not sure the app offers more than the book does and may not make sense to buy the app if you already have the book. But like I said, I only have the app so if someone with both wants to come tell me I'm totally wrong and having both is awesome, go for it! lol

We had plenty of fireworks set off in my area. Lucky both my boys did not seem startled or scared by the noise. Alex could not sleep last night. He has a cold. I feel like more coffee is in order. + I am not pumping at work anymore. I missed my pump session Monday and it was ok. And he's been doing much better on formula (more consistently taking it) that I feel comfortable not having BM for DC.

Hi! I finally found this place on my work computer where I don't have shortcuts. Second week back at work and maternity leave already feels like it was ages ago!

Baby's 2 month appt was today. I'm hoping he sleeps tonight. Dr mentioned that we need to go up a size in diapers. Lol, whoops. I am trying to use up an open package though. Dammit.

lildiamondeyes, we just went up to size 2. Luckily we were able to use all of our size 1's but he was starting to leak out of them the last day or 2. I can't believe how much our babies are growing

But I deal with the adds bc I'm cheap.

It was only 4.99 so oh well, but I would have dealt with ads to pay nothing too!

Grrr. My post got eaten.
Most important thing today is trying to eat healthier. I had an english muffin with almond butter and a peach. I also brought my lunch. No more eating out! I was able to get this packed since DH got home an hr earlier yesterday. He doesn't think he does much but it really helps me out. I don't have to be watching the kids like a hawk. I was able to leave the house at a reasonable time this morning (and not run around like a crazy).

Plus Alex got up on all hands and knees last night! He didn't last long but that's a start. He's still only scooting back. DH says he's stuck in reverse mode. lol.

littlelion, H is most helpful to me when he is entertaining the 3.5yo. He doesn't realize how much that helps me out but when he's playing with her, I can get so much more done without having DD vying for my attention every 2 seconds. And now that DS is getting a little more aware of his surroundings, he can sit in his bouncy seat and just watch DD play and he's happy (usually).

It is so hard to keep up and post when the site is blocked at work. E has been doing well, she is getting in her second tooth and we are already starting to get quotes for places and plan her first birthday party. How crazy.
