Do we even still have inside babies? Is it just me? Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 40+1, 10/14 FTM, Etc: TTM Appointments: Had one today, baby has definitely dropped as I’m measuring around 35 weeks. Unfortunately I’m only about 1.5 cms dilated. We scheduled a NST for next week and induction for 10/23, but I can’t imagine be pregnant for that much longer! I maybe could’ve pushed for earlier induction, but my doctor didn’t seem concerned even with my AMA. Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): pink Milestones: Past due Symptoms/questions: Having contractions pretty much every evening, but nothing consistent yet. Rants: The typical I’m past due and miserable stuff Raves: It’s been a beautiful couple days here, going out for a walk again this afternoon before our weather turns. GTKY: Do you have a favorite recipe to share? (Mostly because I’m currently looking up energy bar and cocktail recipes) Haven’t made these before, but I think I’m going to make these tonight: cookieandkate.com/healthy-maple-pumpkin-muffins/

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: Baby boy is one month old today! 🎉 FTM, Etc: FTM Appointments: Specialist on Thursday to look into difficulty breastfeeding Milestones: One month old! Also above 8 pounds, he’s gaining weight well! Symptoms/questions: I already asked my most pressing question in the feeding thread Rants: H’s work is doing tons of overtime and they’re making him come in super early (he leaves the house between 2am and 4am depending on the shift), and they’re doing 10 hour shifts. Also the job site is an hour away from home. It’s just hard to get him to bed early so he can work and also know I won’t have any help until the next evening. I only get about a couple hours where I can get things done in earnest and I’m not also tending to the baby. It’s just really burning me out. Raves: On the other hand, I’m getting more comfortable being alone and handling the baby through the day on my own. I know that sounds silly to the seasoned moms but I was really worried about how I would fare once H went back to work GTKY: Do you have a favorite recipe to share? (Mostly because I’m currently looking up energy bar and cocktail recipes) I make this cookie recipe, but in addition to chips I also add the tiny Reese’s cups and my H loooooves them. Not much, but it’s a good fun recipe to make! www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/18476/original-nestle-toll-house-chocolate-chip-cookies/

Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): it's a boy! Milestones: more awake time Symptoms/questions: Rants: just tired of constipation and spotting Raves: settling into this 3 kids life. Have only attempted to go out with all 3 once so far. GTKY: Do you have a favorite recipe to share? (Mostly because I’m currently looking up energy bar and cocktail recipes) I made this the other day and I added 1/4 cup brewer's yeast www.somuchyumblog.com/vegan-oatmeal-cream-pies/

DD is confirmed to have reflux in addition to MSPI. Zantac and cereal in bottles until further notice.
Her next appointment is for a 1 month check up, and she’ll hopefully finally hit birth weight again

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 1 week tomorrow! FTM, Etc: TTM Appointments: midwife is checking in on us Friday morning Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): green turned blue Milestones: 1 week old Symptoms/questions: Rants: I can’t get in to get his lip tie clipped until early December That’s a loooong time with a not super comfortable latch Raves: it has finally been sunny enough to get DS some light and his colour is back to normal (he was a bit jaundiced) GTKY: Do you have a favorite recipe to share? doodlemommy what about a pediatric dentist? I’ve heard of people bringing their newborns to one for a tongue tie I could probably find somewhere else yeah but this is the same lactation consultant we used with my DS and I love her. She is also covered by public health care so free! She put me on the cancellation list so fingers crossed I can get in earlier!

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 2 weeks old
FTM, Etc: #4
Appointments: tbd
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): pink
Milestones: idk?
Symptoms/questions: just ready for the bleeding to be done. It's only been just over 2 weeks and the stop and start nonsense is annoying AF already.
Rants: my ILs got into town the other day and...where to begin, man. Let's just say I'm glad my husband asked them to wait a couple of weeks until they visited!
Raves: She slept so good last night! She only woke to nurse twice.
GTKY: Do you have a favorite recipe to share? Hmmm...I feel like I cook and bake a lot but I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

Baby age: 13 days FTM, Etc: 2TM Appointments: 2-week was yesterday Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Boy Milestones: Back to birth weight, second PKU heel stick done Symptoms/questions: Fussy unless he's being worn or held. We think gas. Doing all the things to relieve it. Rants: Silly, but once again I have a newborn who is not sleepy and cuddly and instead likes to yell at us even when he's not hungry or wet etc. My first was the same so at least we were mentally prepared but the crap sleep at night is exhausting when you also have a toddler to handle during the day. Raves: At least he does chill when being worn. My nipples have mostly healed from his crappy latch so hoping to try without again next week and work on fixing his latch. GTKY: Do you have a favorite recipe to share? Easy Mac n cheese : www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2017/01/3-ingredient-stovetop-mac-and-cheese-recipe.html

babystandish Omg, so much yes to being over the constipation! It's so much worse than with #1. I'm taking 3 Colace a day still and it seems like it does nothing.

/Fruit/EDD/baby age: six weeks Sunday
FTM, Etc: 3tm
Appointments: final blood draw next week to check calcium/phosphorus levels
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): pink
Milestones: she no longer has to take calcium supplements bc her last blood test came back normal but I have to get it tested again in a week to see if she maintains her levels without the supplementation.
Symptoms/questions: anyone else swaddle and baby fights the swaddle? I don't remember my boys fighting it this early but she gets mad and wants her arms out.
Rants: I forgot how bad the sleep deprivation is these early weeks
Raves: my boys love baby girl way more than I expected and it's so adorable
GTKY: Do you have a favorite recipe to share? (Mostly because I’m currently looking up energy bar and cocktail recipes) Mississippi pot roast bc it's so easy. Also, randomly, creme brulee. Seems fancy but very easy to make.

thinkchocolate05 Mine fought having his arms contained so we tried the Swaddle Up which puts their hands by their face. Works well for him!

thinkchocolate05 the baby that fights the swaddle needs it the most. Refusing the swaddle is not an option here, but we also swaddle until 3-4 months (whenever they lose the startle reflex)

I've never tried the swaddleup. I've seen it in ads, though, and always wondered if it works. We use a blanket during the day and a Velcro swaddleme at night for peace of mind so there's no chance of a loose blanket in the basinet. I usually loosen the swaddleme if I'm holding her and she's fussing about her arms and then re fasten it tightly once she's sleepy.
