So some of us were talking about stroller/travel system and other baby purchases in another thread. We do have a seperate thread for nursery stuff but I thought it'd be fun to have a seperate thread to AW our baby purchases as well!

I'll be back in a bit to AW the stroller we got *g*
Also, what's the difference between a stroller and a travel system?? I guess ours may be the latter.. as it has the option to either click on the carseat, a bassinet, or a seat on the base.

I think the travel system is just what they call it when you buy a stroller that includes the car seat and the base. We could have purchased them separately but it would end up being a little cheaper to get them together in the "travel system". That's my understanding. I could be wrong though haha.

So we got the Mutsy Evo stroller combo. It has a bassinet and a seat, and you can install the seat both facing forward or facing you. Once I get my adapters I can also click on our Maxi Cosi car seat (that we purchased seperately, see below) on the stroller base. It looks like this, except the fabric of ours isn't this dark blue, more of a lighter dusty blue. I had fallen in love with the darkgrey chassis but I refused to pay insane €€s extra, so started looking on the Dutch craigslist and we ended up buying it second hand. I'm really pleased with our purchase, the fabric both on the outsides as the insides looks brand-new and the only places you can see it's been used before are the wheels and a couple of scratches on the frame. Nothing we wouldn't have ourselves within days! And I saved 50% of the original purchase price heh, score! On Friday I also finally ordered our carseat. I guess the scare we had with babygirl suddenly jumpstarted me in getting these kind of things just READY!! We picked the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix, in raspberry red *g*. My cousin gave us her FamilyFix base to use which should make placement in the car real easy since you can just click in the carseat. I just realized that Maxi Cosi is a true European brand (tis the #1 car seat here) and while they do sell in the States they have different models apperently?

PDQ as I'll poof later but I was in a silly mood and took one of baby's teddybears out for a ride (well not really, I just posed in the garden LOL) so I could ask MH to take a pic and show you the stroller we really got. Poof! Also.. how awesome is it that I'm actually standing on my own two feet on this photo! Yay for being castless, the brace is so much more comfortable and I can waaaaaaalk again (with a bit of a wobble in it but who cares!). /random

muscari I am planning on a MaxiCosi for the convertible seat. The US version of their infant seat didn't fit in MH's car. We went with uppababby for the stroller and car seat (neither of which are in my possession yet 😂). ETA most importantly, what an adorable Picture 😁

When baby grows out of her infant car seat I'm pretty sure we'll get another Maxi Cosi as well - they're such a solid brand and it should also fit the base we got which I like as you don't have to mess around with the seatbelt and all. And thanks

I'm bilingual in Spanish but there are words all the damn time that I'm like ?!?! In Spanish bc I just don't know. Did you grow up speaking English also or did you learn it in school? How does it work over there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not a travel system per se, but I really love our Cybex infant Car seat! We already have a baby jogger city mini Gt stroller so I am sort of bummed I don't have the Cybex stroller, although very tempted to just get it and sell the baby jogger. The stroller came out within the last year so it wasn't available when we got the car seat.
We did tons of research and found this was the best infant seat (for us) we could find. I don't have a pic at the moment since it's put away, but I'll take one later.

We got a graco fast action 2.0 the pic from the box doesn't do it justice, but it's gray and pale green. The car seat can click onto the stroller until baby is older and can sit in the stroller. Also we love that the stroller folds in one smooth movement by pulling on little tab in the seat. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

However we had to quickly upgrade to a double stroller when DS2 arrived. We gave my mom the single stroller to keep at her house to use when she babysits.

We bought the uppababy vista double with help from the in-laws. We purchased the glider board for DS1 as well and will be using it with MaxiCosi car seats while they're little. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

We also got this double rocker off of our registry and I can't say enough good things about it. Takes a lot of space, but is firm with good back support and I love the height of the arm rests. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I have no pics but we got the Chico KeyFit30 infant carrier and base from a friend. It's used but it's still good for another year so that's perfect for us and it was free! My brother bought us a second base for DH's car.
My BFF bought us our convertible 3 in 1 Graco carseat and I'm so excited about it because it was expensive!
We still need a rocking chair but DH is an antiques/mod "picker" and has been trying to find us one so hopefully that works out.

How does it work over there? Ahh thanks heh Here English is a mandatory subject in highschool so that's where I learned the basics. But I think I learned most during my years of online gaming LOL (I started playing the MMRPG EverQuest in 2000 and have been playing one MMO or another since - tho no longer as hardcore as I used to haha) where the majority of players came from English speaking countries - it's a great way to add to your vocabulary and all, including the not-so-common or fine words! Then I also spent a good bit of time in the States (my ex was/is from the States so I moved to live there for a year, and spent 2-3 mo/year overthere as well while we were LD, for a total of 5.5 years) which also helped enourmously especially with pronounciation. Though perhaps living in Alabama wasn't the brightest idea when it comes to taking over accents Though I lost most of its twang since and reverted to a bit of an odd mixture of mostly American English with some British English (which is what is taught here in highschool and university) mixed in heh. I also took English as a minor while in university, tho tbh that was mostly for points as I didn't learn a whole lot of new things.. Except for brush up my grammer I guess?

Love all your purchases ladies! Those strollers all look awesome!
Most people here (or at least those around us) use seatbelts to secure the infant car seat so that was what I was gonne do as well (the bases are so expensive?) but then my cousin gave us their base and secretly I'm so happy not to have to mess with the seatbelts. I see that most your car seats seem to come with a base? That of course IS much handier! Also, I just love how all American strollers come with a cupholder *g*

Oops. Here is my stroller! Thanks google! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Question - is the stroller in the right pic the same as the stroller in the left but without the "toddler" seat? We have the set in the left pic, but MH hates the stroller because he says it's too big. But the way it looks in the second pic is much smaller.

You can take the toddler seat out, which is my plan to do while we use the bucket seat. I did it in the store to make sure it worked and I wasn't inept at doing it. And then it took me a bit to put it back together 😂 But yeah. I'm happy it does that to make it lighter bc it's not the lightest stroller out there!

So far the only thing we've bought for the baby is a crib mattress to replace the one we moved to T's toddler bed and I begrudgingly paid the deposit on newborn photos.

Maybe our new car is a bit of an odd thing to AW here as a baby purchase. BUT as we purchased it with the baby in mind -and I'm just so chuffed with it- I just had to post a piccie here PDQ [ poof ] Am already loving the fact that I can just open the trunk and push in the stroller and whatever other crap I need to take with me etc without having to fuss around with making things fit! It also comes with a panorama/sunroof which I would never have picked as an extra feature myself but I can just see babygirl sitting in her car seat being able to look at things through the panorama roof haha. My cousin will be dropping off the isofix carseat base later this week and I'm looking forward installing the car seat and all. It makes things so much more real.. T-32 going by due date, whaaaaat?

It seems like ages since this thread has been active!! Does anyone have recommendations for a good double stroller? We still haven't bought one, and I just can't decide. I'm looking for something under $300. Ds1 is 3 in November, so I'm curious if anyone knows of one that's great for toddler and newborn.

thinkchocolate05 my mum & sister both used a Mutsy double stroller, the Urban Rider Duoseat. They really liked it, it's the kind where the kiddos sit behind eachother instead of next to eachother (easier in a crowded city etc). However it's an older model and I don't think Mutsy still sells them. They have another kind now though.. And uhm not even sure Mutsy is for sale in the US? Hopefully - but I'm sure they will - there'll be some others who have great recommendations! Googled for a piccie, this one: I *think* the one seat can be switched out for a carseat/newborn seat thingy (whats it called in English?) as well but not 100% sure now.
