I've started calling M professor moody. She has not been delightful lately.

I’m currently on the shuttle to work. I’m not feeling 100% but I’m with OG team today so I want to go in. Former Boss M1 never approved my order so I think I have to start over. It takes 1 minute to approve it so I’m super annoyed.

I'm dreading this week. Ugh. We went to the corn maze yesterday and had a lot of fun. Lucked out with great weather.

Moody Monday indeed.
It’s overcast and I don’t want to be at work. It’s not a bad day so far, so I shouldn’t complain. M is on fall break so he is at work with MH since it’s his slow day at work. It’s the last day of the fair and he wants to take him this afternoon so we may do that.

+1 tgrimes to the moody bit. It's caught me off guard. He's been so weepy about the randomest things. Today, I dropped him at the camp I use for school closure days. It's the same place he went to camp all summer, and we used it for the Jewish Holidays earlier this month. He had a total breakdown and was crying about going in. He didn't do that on the first day of school. It's like all of a sudden everything is just overwhelming for him or something.

Worst night sleep ever. Then, I had promised the girl we could walk to school for the conference. We left late and only made it about 3/4 of the way there before I texted mh to pick us up.
Conference went well, Cadence is excelling at participating. She says that her talking seems to be attention seeking, like she randomly announces things. She has also started copying others bad behavior, so we need to nip that pretty quick. She needs to work on letter sound blending and sounding words out, but she's doing well. I'm pretty relieved. I was worried we would get a bad report.

Morning! I just went down a eBay rabbit hole for this series of books Josie likes. They’re older—like the late 90s I think. I ordered 6 of them. I hope the quality is okay. Amazon was asking ridiculous prices for used books — like 29 dollar per little flimsy paperback.
Everyone’s home. No plans here. I’m baking a little, mh is working on letters of recommendation, and the kids are destroying the playroom.

MH is off today so he has the house all to himself. Anyone placing bets on whether he'll be watching tv all day or if he'll actually do some stuff around the house?

guster which books? Cadence likes the Junie B. Jones, Heidi Hecklebeck, and Ivy and Bean series. The umbrella series is The Advenutres of Bailey School Kids— our library has the that series and the accompanying Bailey City Monsters series, bur not the Jr Chapter Book The Bailey School Kids series

Hmmm this is interesting. S hasn't started any series yet. Any suggestions for him? He seems to love more "non fiction" type books (like his favorite book is a kids textbook about dinosaurs) or comic type books. vino - I feel like your B shares a lot of interests with S. What does he like?

I’ve heard the magic treehouse series is good, but we haven’t tried it. Other winners here are the Calender mysteries series and the A to Z mysteries. They’re both by Ron Roy.

I know at my house, nothing would get done around the house...it would look somehow worse than it did when I left for work this morning.

Are your kids actually reading these books or are you reading them to them? H is not reading yet, although they have been working on high frequency words so if she sees them in a story she will point them out.

PSA: I went to target to get the girls’ Halloween costumes and they are on sale, I think 25% off.

Cluster of a day. We saw a ton of police cars on the way to school for J's loved ones breakfast and open house. Then then announced a shelter in place due to police activity in the area. They did let parents leave at the end. I guess a cop was shot in a parking garage right in town, a few blocks and a helicopter landed in the school next doors field. And then I get home and my mom was feeding N regular crackers... thankfully she isn't actually allergic and just intolerant.
We are heading out to take my mom home and get N a haircut and pick up the rest of the baby clothes. I need some caffeine, chocolate, or both.

trtlcrzy other than a few sight words ds isn’t reading. Reading isn’t taught untill they’re in first grade. We read to him every night, he mostly still loves picture books, but is starting to like bigger stories like pippi longstocking:).

Just like H, he is starting to pick out words but not a lot of them, and a lot is still blind guessing at this point.

Hi hi. Dh is back to work, N is at school and my parents took H for the day to give me some quiet time. I had a friend stop over for a bit, then my sister. L is sleeping while I eat lunch, then I’m hoping to make a target run to return some things and pickup a few things before I pick H up. Then taking L to his appt at the pedi. I’ve been out of the house once since we came home so I’m itching to get out.

Josie reads the junior chapter books (either out loud or what her school calls whisper/ tap), but she stumbles a little more over the regular series books. If she wants to try and read those, we share the book by letting her read the first and last page of each chapter.

Did I tell you guys about how I screwed up on the curtain rod hardware last night. Somehow 1 hole got off and instead of being a quick easy process I then had to patch those holes, and now I’ll need to repaint after the texture dries. Then I can get the last bracket up and the rod hung. What a process. Nothing can ever go smoothly for me 🤦🏻♀️

Hi!
Busy long weekend here; we had so much fun with my sister and nephew. Perfect mix of activity and relaxing. We took the kids out to a farm that has animals, hayrides, etc on Saturday and it was the cutest.
However! Having a little one in the house again has confirmed that we are definitely good with 2 kids, lol. I don’t think C was meant to be a middle child 😂
Now I’m back from the airport and helping B with an assignment (today is a Virtual Learning /teacher planning day, so no school).

We are reading aloud to B, he has some sight words but is not reading independently. jewels My B really enjoys non-fiction. Titanic, Pompeii, weather/natural disasters like earthquakes (lol, sign us up for mass-scale death and destruction 😬😳), outer space and even history. We have really liked books in these series:
