I'm so glad it's Friday. It's cold here today, temp is in the upper 30s, but with the wind, the real feel is in the 20s. I'm thinking soup for dinner tonight!

Last half-day of the week! I pick Charlie up at 11:30 come home and turn right around to go get Josie at 12:30. I was thinking of taking them to the paint your own pottery place right after school. I still haven’t made a decision as to which place would be best for Josie‘s birthday party so I’d like to test them out again.

We had to turn on the heat this morning! Just for a few minutes, but it was nice. I’m sure DH will be happy to see some lower utility bills, the electric bills were $$$ this summer 🥵

My sister gets in tonight around 7 with my nephew so I am in guest/toddler prep mode today. B wants to go to the library (we ran out of time yesterday) but he has library at school today, so I’m hoping I can postpone.

I would say I’m happy it’s Friday, but I work tomorrow morning. Work until 2pm today. My good work friend from AL is stopping by for a visit this afternoon. She was supposed to stay for the weekend, but she has to go to a funeral. Her family is a little over an hour north of us, so she wants to see the boys. My ILs are also coming in for the weekend to watch the boys tomorrow and come to the football game.

mwhip y’all really did go from summer straight to winter.

In KS, we have about 6 days of spring, 6 days of fall, then it's hot as balls or cold.  Drastic temperature swings.  It's wonderful!

Morning! It’s also super cold here, 32 with a real feel of 15 because of the wind. It’s also flurrying out, but not really sticking to anything except like my deck and it’s literally just a dusting. I’m not ready! We missed the bus this morning so I had to take H to school, she couldn’t unbuckle with her mittens on so I had to reach back and help her.

Oh, I hate it.  It's put a huge damper on many vacation days while I take care of crap that no one else seems capable of.  But walking back into hundreds of emails and people standing in my office because stuff just seems to stop when I'm not here...no thanks.  I move stuff to folders, if it needs printed, I have a 'To Print' folder that I print out when I return.  So the disruption when I get back in, is kept minimal.  Annoying either way.

Morning. Our first night home was a rough one. L was in a vicious cycle of nurse, poop, scream, repeat from 10:30-3:30. But he finally fell asleep and is still sleeping!

Dh got up with the kids and got N off to school. We also had some flurries this morning so I think he sent her to school in all her winter gear which might be overkill but i wasn’t going to say anything. Haha

I have a dedicated work cell phone in addition to my personal cell. I use it primarily for email access because I too hate the millions of emails to sort through. I check it on my days off and delete the junk as I go. Then I will answer basic easy things then too. Anything that requires actual work I mark as unread and deal with it when I get back to work.

I think I'm still traumatized by our first night home with E.  No one slept in our house.  It was awful.

Yeah, I get it.  I just don't want all the extra security protocols on my phone.  It's a pain in my ass.  In plus, they have access to some of my other things because of what they have to put on there, according to my IT friend.

She told me she felt bad for me because I had to go to work. Don't feel bad, girl, there are no attorneys here today so that means I can peacefully watch hulu and netflix all day. Imma have a GOOD day!

Lol.  Yesterday I watched the last season of Schitt's Creek.  I'm regretting not taking off today too to binge some more shows.

Vent ahead:
We had to walk through about ten train cars to find 3 seats together. While dh was putting his bag up a guy sat in the seats in front of us. Dh sat down and the guy says “I was saving this for him” and waves to a guy behind us. I said “oh we were trying to keep our family together.” He responds with “Me too. Families come in all shapes lady!” At this point dh has moved and I am dumbfounded. We moved and I said back “that was not what I meant at all by the way”. He made a grunty noise. And that was it.

I don’t think either of us were wrong really. How was he to know that we were planning to use the seat and how were we to know he was saving it? I hate to say this because I thought that I don’t expect people to alter their lives because I have a child but I guess I did expect him to move so maybe I do. So now I’m all unsettled and overthinking. I hate that he likely thinks I’m an all important douche that doesn’t recognize his family.

I left my work cell at home. Away messages on everything. As soon as the work day started I get texts on my personal cell! I am not that important people! I gave her a short response with a “I’m out today but happy to help when I’m back on Tuesday!” So irritating. I do usually check messages the night before I come back to ease anxiety and see what I’m walking into.

Not sure what's on the agenda today. I have coupons that expire soon at the Disney Store and Spaghetti Factory. I also want to go to a corn maze. We'll see.
