Good luck with the surgery! Could the sneezing be allergies? The mold is especially awful this year where I am and even people who aren't usually affected are coughing and sneezing. Maybe it was just early chilly fall morning stuff. He seems improved. The surgery scheduler called and dd is set for 7:30am!! She normally gets up at 6 and we will be in the car by 7 so that’s only one hour of dealing with no food/drink at home. My nephew was scheduled for 11 with both of his ent surgeries and sil says it was awful having to wait that long with the food restrictions. It's like the people who schedule those surgeries have never met a hangry toddler.

I can’t wait for this to be behind us because I’ve been super anxious about it the last couple of nights. I’m fine during the day but when I try to sleep my stupid brain won’t shut off.

I hope everything goes smoothly. I agree with your SIL, it is not delightful to keep your child from eating/drinking anything but water for hours on end. One of the nurses told me to wake them up in the MOTN to feed them. Ummm, no lady. oh I would have because hangry DD is 1000000x worse than tired DD.

Neither one of my kids would have eaten food at 1 am just because. They're not quiet either so the whole house would have been up for the rest of the day.

Id have to be strategic about it and yeah we'd probably all be up, but I probably wouldn't be sleeping much the day before surgery either if I'm being honest. lol

I hope it all goes really smoothly. I'm sorry for the stress and worry but totally understandable. So happy to hear she is scheduled for early morning!

We’re home! She did well with pre-op but coming out of anesthesia was a disaster and a half, as you would expect of a toddler. So much screaming. Now we just have to keep her finger out of her eye to avoid infection...I’m sure that will be a piece of cake 😬

Coming out of the anestesia like that is completely normal. I have a very early memory of waking up after surgery and just sobbing and sobbing. I remember thinking "why am I so upset?" But not being able to stop. Good luck keeping her from touching it. Too bad they don't give kids e-collars like they do pets.

Lakes glad to hear it went well minus the wake up! Aside from keeping her fingers out of her eye is there any other recovery time thing or is it back to normal?

Totally fine to put on a toddler right? The neighbors might frown upon that though.

She’s just on regular Tylenol for today. Glasses went back on as soon as she woke up and doctor says all regular activities resume immediately. She took a little nap and had some lunch which has improved her mood. The only side effect so far is a super red demon eye which is a bit creepy.

This maybe a crazy question, but is there like toddler/kid soap. DD is really sweaty sometimes. We are still using baby soap, but I think she needs something a little stronger. I’m hesitant because of her eczema. We are strictly a Dove family. What are you guys using to bathe toddlers? DD is 28 months for reference.

Either dove baby for sensitive skin, Aden & anais baby, or babyganics. How often do you bathe her?

I bought some Dove baby and I was wondering was it too weak. She has outgrown the Aveno baby.

This sounds weird but I’ve been using the Johnson & Johnson’s cotton touch for newborns on my 26 month old 😂 it smells so good and gentle but I’m not sure with eczema.

My kid is visiting the preschool room this week. I brought him upstairs to look around and talk to the teachers this morning and I can't believe he's moving up. He seemed a bit shocked himself.

Lakes how's your daughter's recovery going? She’s 110% back to normal! Thanks for checking in. We had to sit with her the first day to make sure she didn’t try to touch it but she hasn’t tried since then. The red demon eye should go away within two weeks. It’s only the inside half of her eye and I didn’t think it was super noticeable if you just glanced but several strangers already commented on it this morning while we were running errands 🤨

I guess probably, did you know that your child's eye is red? Or, is your child a demon?

I think people tend to do a double take and look closer at her anyway because she’s a tiny peanut of two year old in bright red glasses. I usually don’t mind the constant comments and questions about her glasses and how did we know she needed them etc but I thought pointing out her red eye like I wasn’t aware was a bit much.
