I can't believe we are in October. Wasn't the summer just yesterday? I mean tomorrow it's supposed to be near 90, but then 59 degrees the following day. Yay New England.
In other news DD has been having pee accidents just because. It's entirely behavioral and incredibly frustrating. Yesterday at school during rest time, she got a lap cuddle from the teacher and then proceeded to go over to her cot and pee on EVERYTHING. They had to give her replacement shoes. When my mom asked her why she did that and didn't tell the teacher she needed to go potty, she said she wanted different clothes...π It's not a school thing either, she's been doing it at home too. We have a lot of talks about listening to your body, and to stop and go right away like Daniel Tiger says but girl gives no fucks.

We are solidly into fall temperatures here in the upper New England, low in the 30s tomorrow. Oy, that sounds frustrating. I've heard about regressions that coincide with life changes like starting a new school or whatever so maybe it's that and will hopefully pass quickly?

I think it's a combo of the new school and the upcoming new baby. I think she's trying to control what she can. She's sooooo stubborn. I'm hoping it will figure itself out in a couple of weeks, but for now, it's irritating.

It'll be 93 here tomorrow and I am over. it. I was so relieved that it would be fall by the time I hit third trimester. HA. The universe had other plans.

She waffles between wanting a dinosaur or a brother and a sister. But I think the concept is lost on her since I'm not really showing and to her it's been a lifetime of waiting already.

I'm sorry K is having a difficult time, sheilathetank. M has entered a major emotional phase, so much whining, and I'm doing my best to give him grace; a lot is changing in his world but damn it's frustrating. Use your words, child.

J moves upstairs to preschool next month and has a visit scheduled for later this month. I think it'll be a good change for him and he's already familiar with the teachers. Is there anything specific I should ask about?

It's still mid-90s here too. I'm so over it. I want to get out my boots and sweaters, dammit!
We have the big consignment sale coming up, but I can't even get in the mindset to prep DS's wardrobe for cold weather. He's still wearing shorts every day.

Is there anything specific I should ask about? Schedule. If he needs anything more/less (blanket, lovey, backpack). Since it's in the same building, he'll be familiar with the environment so it shouldn't be too much of a change.

DS did a trial dance class last night. He was SO CUTE. He got his whole life. He will definitely need more than one class to get the basics down, but they're only a month in so he's not too far behind the others. He's the only boy in there, but he has not a single fuck to give about that.

Exactly. At that studio, there are all-boys classes starting at age 5. Which seems a little silly, but it's also cheaper because they're trying to get more boys. And I like a discount, so...

I can also see it as a way to get older boys to go because then they aren't stuck in a class with their sister and her friends. Which is pretty silly, but kids can be weird about that shit. Some of the older boys in DD's TKD class are and it's very eyeroll worthy.

Picture day is at preschool today. Got him a new "handsome" shirt to wear. DH got him a haircut on Saturday. I put the shirt on the couch so we'd remember to bring it. We talked about it yesterday.
Guess who STILL forgot this morning?
I ran home after dropping my older one off at school, grabbed the shirt and some styling supplies, and headed to preschool where I handsomed him up while a crowd of little girls surrounded us asking about all the stuff. One of his little friends told him he looked "muy guapo" (very handsome).

Itβs been unusually warm here and Iβm sad to see it go really. Our fall tends to be short and winter miserably long. Sorry about the pee accidents sheilathetank. Iβm sure itβs just a phase like everything else with kids but itβs so irritating when you are in the thick of it! Speaking of phases, my 2yo is currently a demon. Climbing out of the crib, fighting naps constantly and wonβt go to bed till super late. Iβm losing my GD mind! She is tough enough but was at least a decent sleeper. Iβm ready to run away!!

My child is slowly killing me. He keeps asking "lessa" to play the Gummy Bear song and I might have to jump out a window if I hear it again. If you don't know what the Gummy Bear song is be grateful and NEVER show your child this song.

Ugh this seems to be a common phase for 2YOs but climbing out of the crib complicates things. When mine started fighting naps we started doing quiet time and that has been going pretty well but he is still in a crib.

I had a dream last night that DS climbed out of his crib and walked into our room MOTN. Scared the shit outta me. I woke up panicking that we were done with the crib.

The first time this happens, when they are no longer in their crib and in a real bed, is fucking terrifying. Scratch that. the first dozen times this happens it's terrifying. Hearing a whispered "mommy" in your ear or just feeling someone breathing on you two centimeters from your face. DD is lucky I didn't punch her or something out of a pure reaction.

She always went to DH's side of the bed. He yelled every time. Pretty sure he made her cry once.

D1 was a crib unicorn till 3.5 and transitioned to a bed amazing. I donβt know this lyfe π
