How old is baby: 5 weeks
Appointments: MW & PT next week. I have to reschedule MW because I booked them one after another and they’re in different cities. 🤦🏻♀️
How's PP recovery?: Good. I tried to do PP yoga yesterday and my abs weren’t ready.
Milestones: He smiled at DH.
Rants: Somedays BFing is a real challenge. The letdown causes him both to unlatch and triggers his sensitive stomach so we’ll end up covered in milk/spit up. Those days I just want to pump and bottlefeed but then he’s crying while I do that anyway (I have milk in the freezer but it would take just as long to warm).
Raves: His expressions are hilariously serious.
Questions for the group?: Feel free to give advice about pumping/bottlefeeding. I know he’ll outgrow the issue since DD did, but until then it’s this drama.

How old is baby: 11 weeks today!
Appointments: 4 mony
How's PP recovery?: It's been good.
Milestones: giggles , second leap
Rants: he's so fussy right now
Raves: he has such a good smile
Questions for the group?:
TW Possible MC TW
Has anyone had HCG hormones stay in their blood for a really long time after birth? Like... 10 weeks? Everything I'm reading says it should be out of your system by 2-4 weeks PP but I had almost a week of faint positives that got a little darker and then negative. I really thought/felt like I was pregnant. I was hoping to hear some sort of confirmation today after I had labwork done but I have an appointment tomorrow to get a new IUD in anyways so one of my friends said they might just be waiting for my appointment tomorrow to tell me my blood test results?

How old is baby: 8 weeks this Wednesday
Appointments: as soon as I start my first post partum period I can get my IUD placed. 10/9 with PCP to check thyroid levels and discuss meds for some PPA I’ve been having. 10/16 for baby girl 2 month.
How’s PP recovery?: I feel good. I’ve been working out but tweaked my back so I’m on hiatus until that heals. Some PPA but I’m managing and will discuss meds soon.
Rants: financial stress sucks.
Raves: my son turns 5 this week!
Milestones: some longer sleep stretches, better head control, more smiles
Questions for the group: anybody have experience with Mirena IUD?

How old is baby: 7w on Friday Appointments: 10/3 IUD; 10/16 2mo How's PP recovery?: my ligament is finally healed. I thought it would never heal. I’ve been lifting more things and going on 30 min walks w baby D. My core is completely gone. Hoping to build that back up soon. Milestones: smiles! Better head control, did a 6 hour stretch of sleep but normally 3-4 hours. Rants: my DS1 is sick again. We got thru the RSV and now he’s got the stomach flu. We are on day 10 of diarrhea and vomiting. I’m about to lose my mind. I’m taking him to the ped again. They said to come back if he wasn’t better by Wed. Raves: loving feeling confident in my mommy abilities this 2nd time around. Questions for the group?: friendofdobby I had a mirena and I’m getting another one placed this Thur. The placement is painful for about 30 seconds. Then you spot for 1 mo. But after that it’s smooth sailing! I had no period and no side effects.

Hi everyone!
I have a kind of downer question. DS (12 weeks) usually sleeps in his bed beside me until 3:30/4:30 in the morning. Then I bring him into bed with me and side nurse and sleep until the alarm goes off at 6:30. I’m awake to switch sides a couple times in those hours, and I’m really careful about covers, my H, etc. BUT every single time I wake up, I have that moment of panic or dread checking if he’s ok (still breathing).
Is this reaction over the top? I kinda feel like it’s normal to worry about your baby while you’re sleeping, but maybe not? Do you worry like that, or do I have something else going on here?

robinanne I had that often with DD. This our second kid who primarily co-sleeps and I don’t find I panic as much. Are there other things you find yourself worrying about?

No, I just check on him a lot when he sleeps, even in the Ktan wrap. I slept with all 3 of mine too. You know how you feel “aware” even when you’re asleep? I guess when I realize that I was *actually* asleep, I panic. 😜

robinanne I figured you must have co-slept before. I check him in the wrap constantly! Too many sling deaths in the news. I would say that’s normal. If I didn’t plan on falling asleep then I wake up like “ahh! Where’s the baby?”

How old is baby: I lost track of weeks...12ish? 3 months on the 10th.
Appointments: at 3.5 months most likely, since we’ll be moving at 4 months. Pedi wants to get our second round of vaccines in before the big move, so we have time to find a good doctor out there.
How's PP recovery?: PP hair loss has started. I’m not complaining! My hair gets unmanageably thick during pregnancy, so it’s nice to have normal amounts of hair again.
Milestones: Laughs, lots of “talking”, grabbing at toys. She also discovered her hand today and keeps staring at it all cross-eyed 🤣
Rants: we just listed our house for sale yesterday. Keeping it show-ready with a baby and 5yo has me so stressed. I have to keep reminding myself that it’s still ok to live normally in our house.
Raves: she’s such a happy baby most of the time.

robinanne I've actually had some terrifying close calls so I am paranoid AF about it. We do not cosleep but I am so sleep deprived I have fallen asleep while nursing a number of times and woken up in some not good situations. I've been trying to be really disciplined about getting decent sleep and going to bed early, part of why I haven't been around here as much!! I have that moment of panic everytime I wake up until I know C is in his swing and not inadvertently in bed next to me.

I had no such big problems with hair loss even when I was pregnant. Now my hair is so thin and it's everywhere in my house. I'm terrified. I need some advice. Is it still hormonal or should I treat it somehow? I've found some supplements for hair and nails on Canadian Pharmacy and I wonder if someone takes smth similar? Can you share your tips?
