Im putting a thread of this genre here because I’m a geek when it comes to horror. I’ve been binge watching horror movies lately.
Anyone here love them as much as I do?
I’ve fallen off becsuse I haven’t been feeling that great. But whenever I get spurts of good health I watch horror/thriller/sci-fi/etc. It calms me.

Recently I’ve watched a couple on Netflix.
The Ritual on Netflix. It was good. I really liked the dialogue. It gave me a bit of M night feels crossed with Blair witch. Like the village.
Chernobyl diaries was okay. I’ve seen better zombie movies but it was entertaining-ish.

I usually love watching paranormal type movies. All the conjuring world ones, paranormal activity, etc. I also love classic slasher like Halloween. It’s my personal favorite movie of all time. The new one was pretty cool. I stay away from gore if it’s too gratuitous. I’ll still enjoy it but it’s not my personal favorite sub genre.

The Mist is one of my favorites. It’s disturbing because people are scarier than the monsters there.
I can talk horror movies all day.

This is one of my favorite horror movie documentaries. It use to be on Netflix. Not sure where else I can stream but it's a great doc on the American movie horror timeline. Very educational.

I liked how there was actually a thing, and not like a maybe thing like in Blair witch. That surprised me because I went into it as a meh horror on a sunday afternoon. I watch most of my horror on Sunday afternoons

The Mist was fucking fantastic. The "oh shit" moment at the end fucked me up. So, so good.

The Mist was fucking fantastic. The "oh shit" moment at the end fucked me up. So, so good. It broke my brain. They did a great job with the music too. That end scene was insane. Im glad the dvd has an alternate ending. But the original is perfect actually.

miawallace, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what kind of horror I like reading, I've been reading Paul Tremblay, Grady Hendrix, Alma Katsu, Johnathan Janz, Kristi DeMeester, Gabino Iglesias (so so good!). I like possession stories (but not movies...I can't with the body contortions), haunted house, witchcraft, vampires. I will add The Ritual and The Mist to my to-watch list. A friend and I are working our way through 80's slasher flicks slowly. I will also try to find that doc.

Went through my Netflix history:
Apostle sucked. Was not what I thought. It was boring and they tried to make it up with gore. I want horror, not just gore
Train to Busan is an older one, but I finally had a chance to watch it. Very good. Lots of oh shit moments. Kind of predictable at the end but still good.
Don't knock twice was ok. I honestly don't remember that much of what happened. It wasn't that memorable., I mostly watched it because the main chick was the same chick who plays the Captain in Another Life. Which BTW is a fantastic sci fi horror show. Just fantastic. Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Malicious. Yawn. The box was a cool idea, but it was poorly executed and left a lot to be desired. Again, another one I had to look up to remember what happened.
The Silence. OMG. I LOVED this movie. I liked the actors. I liked the premise. It was a really original idea. The ending was kind of cheesy but still, I'd watch it again.
Spectral. I pretty much begged H to watch this with me and he was surprised by how much it didn't suck. Cool concept. Well done. Different. Would also watch again.

When a stranger calls is one of those movies I thought i wasn’t going to like. The premise is pretty obvious, but i was pretty surprised by how much I liked it. I’ve watched it several times because it hits s good suspense spot. They did a good job with build up. The dialogue is pretty cliche though.

Bumping this to say I saw IT 2 over the weekend and it was freaking hilarious. I loved it. It was great! The woman sitting next to MH was on the verge of a heart attack the entire time and I don't know why, but it made it so much funnier. She legit screamed at one part and I burst out laughing. I do think it was a bit long and was almost 3 hours. Could have been a half hour shorter easily. But otherwise such a good time. 10/10 would recommend.
