Snapchat is safe for teens?

I am new here and this is my first post. Actually, I am a single parent of 13 years old girl. I work as nurse and duty timings vary and my daughter lives with my old mother. Though I use the parental controls but I can't have an eye on the activities of my daughter. Though I allowed her to use Facebook, YouTube Kids and WhatsApp with customized settings but now, she wants to use Snapchat. Even I didn't use this app. However, when I searched I found some cons of using Snapchat for teens here. That's why I am afraid either should I allow her or not.
Or is there any way to make customize settings for the use of Snapchat for teens. She is insisting because her friends are using it. As a working lady and a single parent, I have much concerns for my growing daughter. Even, I am doing everything for her. Please give me your suggestions and opinions in this regard.
