My MIL is watching the kids for me. She's the best. Tonight our friends are supposed to come over for fajitas and margaritas. I hope the weather doesn't turn to shit again.

My SIL had a baby yesterday. I’m very excited for them, but the practical side of my brain takes over, and I think about having to take a weekend plus and so much money to go down to meet the new baby. Overall, I do wish they lived closer, but especially in times like this!!

Morning!
TGIF (and hooray, my oldest will be back at school!) I think C and I may go out looking for fall decor--now that we've had a couple days of teaser weather, I'm in the mood!

Morning and happy Friday!
Nothing too exciting here today. It's payday, so I logged in and paid all my bills...yay.

Overall, I do wish they lived closer, but especially in times like this!! Congrats! Is this the family in NC? We have only seen my husband's niece once since she was born last spring. It's a 7-hour drive or $$$ flights, plus a hotel or AirBNB stay in a pricey location, and we are trying to be conservative with vacation time and spending due to everything we have going on this year. They don't travel much so any interaction we have will be 'on us'. I'd like my kids to know their cousin--that will likely be the only on one DH's side. But at the same time, we can only do so much. I'm encouraging H to head down south over the Christmas holidays...we could stop in his hometown for a day or so and maybe my SIL would bring the baby to her parents'.

Last night was a good night. I had promised S some stupid pokemon toy and so after dinner just he and I went to Target. S has the same shopping gene as I do and can just wander around shopping forever. So we grabbed the toy, got a few groceries, picked out new sheets for him and browsed in home decor for some ideas to redecorate his room. All in all a lovely evening.
And then I felt guilty cuz I was commenting how much more enjoyable it is to go shopping without B. But it really is. S is a lovely shopping date!

Two kids are hard to take shopping, we do much better with one or the other. C is a good shopping partner as she is also a clothes-horse. She'll play in the dressing room and give me her opinions as I try stuff on, which are hilarious and--more often than not--fairly accurate.

She comes over 4-5 a year and then she’s sees my kids every day, and they FaceTime every week, they’re very close. But this will probably change a lot if she has kids too... ETA oh and not to make it all about me, congrats!!! Hope everything went well & mom and baby re doing great .

Where are you going to look? I’ve been looking for wreaths, but can’t seem to find one I like in the smaller size. I need two since we have the double doors.

That's S - he loves to try on clothes and even help me pick stuff out or pick out stuff for his little brother. B has never had any interest in any of it.

Shopping with one kid is 10x better than shopping with both. It is fun shopping with the older ones now, but shopping with M2 by himself isn’t too bad. It’s just when they are together that it is not ideal.

UnitedHealthcare denied my 2nd appeal. Fuckers. The letter they sent me doesn't even make sense. It says, "We understand the second appeal to state that nnn." WTF is nnn?

I've had good luck with Michael's for wreaths the last couple years...not sure if that's store dependent, but maybe check there if you haven't already? I found my fall one there last year and I got one in the spring, too. Home Goods had some pretty ones yesterday too, but you're right, it can be tough to find pairs. I need to return something to HG so we'll probably go back there, then stop at Hobby Lobby. I follow a decor shop at Amelia Island and they posted something on IG that I'm going to try and replicate for my hall table. (T&Ps, please :/ )

I really don't shop for clothes much. I buy a random new item here and there when I see something I really like when I'm out and about. I buy online occasionally. The kids have so many damn clothes they don't need anything for a while and when they do I usually attack it like a grocery list. "Ok, we're at Target and you need 2 pairs of pants and 1 long sleeved shirt--pick one off this rack."

Hi!
We were out of power for three hours last night. Not ideal since I needed to pack and tidy up for pest control today. We’re headed out after I leave work today.
M had a fun day at school yesterday. It was Rock your school day- some initiative to have an out of the box educational day. They walked in school to a surprise disco party with glow necklaces. Kindergarteners had their classroom transformed into a Pete the Cat theme and their activities for the day centered around a couple of the books. Apparently they do something like this a few times a year. Sounded and looked fun.

I'm just so effing glad it's Friday. MH has an MRI tonight so he's going to leave early tonight from TKD and I'll close up. I'm going to do a double workout and hope they have cardio stations set up. I need to get out frustration from the week.
We decided to do the girls' birthday parties at the TKD studio. I forgot they do parties but that will be perfect because we could save $$ and the owner would love to drum up new business. This will be the first time they have separate parties.

I do not like clothes shopping with Evie. It's fine if I'm buying her clothes, but for myself. No thank you, I want to go alone. I don't need some 5yr old rushing me. Same as when H goes with me, he follows me around, like, give me time to browse and touch things!

Happy Friday! We took C to the bus, went to boot camp and then Kroger. Costco was on the agenda but L just wasn't having it so we skipped it.

Thanks for the commiseration, everyone. They are in North Carolina. So definitely too far to drive. We do have a long weekend coming up next weekend. Josie is home on Friday and Monday and M is home on Monday and Tuesday so we think we might make it work then. Flights are so expensive, unless we’re willing to fly frontier which is such a bargain it almost scares me.

Josie and Charlie (separately) are both fun shopping partners when I’m looking for myself, but Josie is so distracted when she’s looking for herself that we end up spending so much time in the sparkly accessories that we rarely find the clothing we clothing we actually needed.

A was finally able to get the machine rented that will hopefully level our yard. So he's getting that at 2. And will most likely be doing that all weekend. Then we can seed and straw. His cousin and her family are coming to hang out Sunday. Other than that, we're just working on the yard.

Little does he know, as soon as the yard is seeded and straw, I want the boys play ground and climbing thing moved here.

Morning girls.
Did Barre and BBM earlier.
Pete just showed up at the house and asked me to reconcile. Again.
So I was having a good morning but now I’m instantly drained and want to get back in bed.
