Our school district cancelled all after school activities because of Imelda, which includes after care, so I have to leave work early to pick M up from school. Hope it's a big nothing burger. Stay dry! Be sure to pick up some extra wine on your way home just in case.

Preparation is key.

I didn’t know y’all had a storm, stay safe! I didn't either until yesterday when it hit. My SIL sent a text saying the eye was probably going to pass right over their house and included a pic of the tracking system. I was so confused and thought she was talking about a tornado. LOL!

That's crazy. I feel like I haven't heard anything about Imelda at all, but perhaps that's because it's a tropical storm and not a hurricane? Idk.

Well tomorrow is my follow up with my OB. Can't believe it's been 6 weeks already. K is getting her distracter pins out today! So excited about that. She also tried a bottle for the first time yesterday and managed to get a couple CC's out. She's been doing so well.
I decided it's time to wean C from his pacifier so I'm attempting to do bedtime only right now. I pulled out one of his stuffed animals to snuggle with and he was excited but he cried in the car this morning. Hopefully he does ok with my mom.

Nighttime only is a good start. H doesn't have a paci at daycare and he naps just fine there. I think they just pat his back.

I've met him a few times and he joined us at dinner a couple weeks ago and I still feel weird asking.

H had a rough few days. I'm thinking growth spurt since aside from behaviour his eating is also all over the place and I actually had to wake him up this morning. DH left this morning but should only be gone a week. I still don't have a new babysitter, so just taking things day by day and trying not to stress too much.

I have nothing on the agenda today. It’s actually low 80s so I’m going to try and take a walk later. Don’t hate me... I only gained 17 lbs this pg and have already lost it. But I had about 20 lbs hanging around before getting pg that still need to go. I’m thinking small changes right now like alcohol OR dessert at night... not both lol.

I'm glad you already dropped your weight this time around. I'm like you and still have 20 lbs to get to PP weight. This latest ulcer should help me lolsob

He asked for it but she said it's not here. He said "ok.. bye bye". Honestly the worst part is that I feel bad. His sad face breaks my heart lol.

Oh no starbuck! I'm sorry. cookswithwine I'm a few pounds away but this breastfeeding/pumping appetite is out of control. Plus I can order a dessert with my meals at the hospital and can't say no to chocolate cake or ice cream.

I'm feeling really defeated.
B loves going to school. His teacher greets him at the door every morning and he always has a big smile on his face and says hi to her. He walks right in with no problem. He sees his speech therapist at school 2x a week. Today was one of those days. She wrote in his notebook that both her and his teacher noticed he has a hard time following directions in class. She (his ST) worked with him on some 1 and 2 step directions and she said he struggled with it. This is what his previous speech therapist worked on with him last year. He met this goal. At home, he follows directions without any issues (obviously, not 100% of the time because 4 years old and he DGAF). But I am just feeling like we are back to square one. I am fairly confident this issue is a result of his shyness and lack of confidence. He is afraid to be wrong so instead of doing what he is told he tends to just flat out refuse to do things. I just don't want him to struggle forever and I am so sad that his shyness holds him back so much. This is also another reason we moved his sessions to the classroom because at home he was doing great but he needs some extra support in the classroom. I realize its only the 2nd week in school but I just want him to showcase how smart he is.
I just needed to write out my feelings here.

That's awesome cookswithwine!! I would choose to cut out dessert. lol. I've had some great memories in Cozumel tgrimes. DH and I cruised there and I was part of a drinking contest on stage and he dressed up as a hamburger bun and danced in front of the crowd. Good times!

I'm not surprised he is having a wee bit of a backslide because he's dealing with all this new stuff, new environment, new ideas, and new adults. Give him some time! We've been in school about 8 weeks now and I promise the changes will come and you'll be amazed at the pace.

waitwhat I'm sorry! I'm sure it's going to take him time to get comfortable. The beginning of school is tough for anyone. Is it normal for them to assess that early?

I think because he’s in speech therapy they tend to assess him earlier than the other students because they are aware there are delays going on, if that makes sense. It’s almost like he gets labeled from day 1 so they notice things with him sooner.

I had to walk in water up to my knees to get H. He thought it was pretty cool though.... Then I drove to get M and had to park and walk again. The water height was only bad at the entrances to the parking so only a few puddles to walk through. I had to pick up one of M’s friends too because his parents couldn’t make it to the school. Luckily I brought enough umbrellas for everyone. Now we’re chillin watching Madagascar 3.
