I made an appt for H this afternoon. He has a swollen salivary gland under his ear, according to google. But it's huge, hard and has a reddish hue to it and it seems to be bothering him. I'm sure it's nothing but I'd rather a doctor tell me that.
We were just at the ENT & the immunologist last week...

Good Morning. Nothing exciting going on here. Both kids are at school and I ran to the grocery store quick since I didnt get a chance to over the weekend.
On Saturday we went to my FIL's house and spent the night. We are trying to get the kids more acclimated to sleeping other places than our house so that it will help when we go away on vacations and visit family and things. Both boys did really great. B isn't so much an issue but I usually have to "fall asleep" with J or else he'll just bawl his eyes out but this past weekend was the first time I was able to bring both boys into the room and leave them with their iPads. No one cried or fought with me and they both fell asleep pretty quickly. It's giving me hope for vacation in a few weeks. Last year, I had to sleep with J so I was in bed at like 8:30pm every night and I don't want to do that again.

I'm here. I'm tired. My sister is coming to visit this weekend and I have too much to do this week to get ready.

Work continues to destroy my soul. We had dinner at mom's lady night and I was really stressed about wanting to quit work, and was angry drinking while venting. Then there was this huge blow up between my sister and my neice and I had to spend time dealing with that, then drank some more to calm my nerves. Which resulted in a very sick danib this morning.
DH did finally get Will kits today (and purchased some life insurance on us and the kids).

D is 1 month today! Maternity leave his going by so much faster this time around. H went back to work today. He works from home so I don’t think it’ll be as much of a shock as when he went back to work w O as a police officer working nights. Nothing on the agenda this week except a follow up appt for Os EI on Friday. I know I’m a broken record w this but O was really difficult this weekend. On Saturday morning, it took us 1 hr and 50 mins to get him out the door. Later, he wanted to pee standing up w the seats down (reg seat + smaller kid seat). I put my foot down (bc I let him do it before and pee got everywhere) and we had a battle of wills until he finally agreed to put the seats up. He challenges us on EVERYTHING. I started reading that strong willed kid book. We literally don’t know what to do.

cookswithwine, you are not alone. J is very strong willed and he knows it. He plays this new game now when he climbs into the car, instead of going in his car seat he goes up front, and then runs back into the 3rd row. It's a whole big thing and I usually have to drag him into his car seat and strap him in kicking and screaming. Also, if we have to go to the grocery store or something and he doesn't want to go, he will FREAK out in his car seat and refuse to get out. I have to usually carry him in kicking and screaming. He also purposely comes up to you and scratches you for no reason so thats been fun. I really have no idea what to do either. I usually end up resorting to bribery which I know isn't smart but I don't have time to waste when I need to load him in the car. I will commiserate with you!

My coworker freaked me out so I cancelled the appt with the pedi and will be seeing the ENT this afternoon....again. I'm single handedly putting his kids through college.

waitwhat O runs around the car too and refuses to get in his seat. Thanks for the commiseration stories. I wrote a post Fri night and then deleted it bc I was so upset. Short version - we went to food trucks. I was wearing D; O was being pretty good. H asked to go get beers while O was in the bounce house. I said ok, bc O had been good up until then. When time was up, I had to drag him out of the bounce house kicking and screaming. He was having such a bad tantrum that I literally was just trying to hold on to him bc I couldn’t do much wearing D and w my c section pain. Another mom (a stranger) tried to come help me and talk him down. Which I appreciated bc I was stuck but it was so embarrassing. H finally comes back and we leave without getting dinner.

cookswithwine Don't be embarrassed. The other mom has probably had her own moments like this and was just seeing a fellow mom in need. It happens to us all. M has always been a difficult child. I thought she was going to be an only child for a long time because of it. Some days she's perfect and other days I'm physically pulling her out of the car because she's so stubborn and won't get out.

Yeah if J was my first kid he probably would have been an only child. cookswithwine I deal with the same tantrums trying to leave places and that’s where bribery comes in. That’s also 100% the reason why we will have to skip his field trip in a few weeks. I know I will not be able to get him to leave after only an hour. Especially with all the other kids still staying there. It sucks.

Thank you, waitwhat, tgrimes and danib. I might just be hormonal and sleep deprived but it just seems so much harder lately. (Also O might have been an only child if I waited another 6 mo to ttc b/c that’s when the tide turned lol.)

H has parotitis. Augmentin and warm compress with gentle massage. That should be easy since he won’t let me touch it. 🙄

I'm at the dentist. Super fun.
Wyatt had another tantrum this morning. I told him I had an appt so needed to drive him to the bus stop instead of walking and he said he'd rather H take him so they could walk. So after we get the twins loaded and I'm walking out the door he freaked out that I wasn't taking him.
You know, after asking his dad to walk him.
I had to just leave. Luckily, he actually got his butt on the bus when the time came.
Kids are super fun.

In much much better news, H is taking the kids to a Braves game Sunday with my ILs. I am not going, and because there's a late UGA game Saturday he is thinking about taking the kids to sleep over so I would have an entire night and most of the next day to myself. 🙌
He asked if sleeping over was overkill. Nahhhhhh it's totally reasonable H. Shoo, shoo.

Can you help me pick a haircut? I am doing a cut and getting some red (and I mean RED) highlights Saturday. Right now, my hair is shoulder length and bugging me. I was thinking of letting it grow out but the more I think about it, the more I think I just want to cut it. Option A: Attachment DeletedOption B (when I first went short, this is what I did and I loved it, but wondering if it's the right cut for the red): Attachment DeletedOption C: Attachment DeletedFeel free to suggest something else (note: I hate myself in a pixie so B is like the absolute shortest).

starbuck I love option B. The red might look better with option A. I vote option B. It wouldn't take too long to grow out if you'd rather the red with option A later.

Our school district cancelled all after school activities because of Imelda, which includes after care, so I have to leave work early to pick M up from school.
