1.5hr after my appointment scheduled, in a room but haven't seen the Dr. I'm literally just here for a blood pressure check to make sure my meds are good... Hope you’re out of there by now!

Hi! All errands for me. No relaxation, but it’s Friday so I’ll sneak in some somewhere. Anyone interested in the nextflix series Unbelievable that starts today?

Our internet is down and has been for about an hour. No one can do anything. Good thing I have some stuff downloaded on Netflix.

Hi ladies. I'm at my other job today. Preparing for craziness. We have a unit to clear for deployment plus Friday the 13th/full harvest moon. So far I have no internet access so that's great. The fair was so fun yesterday. I had some guilt pulling them out of school but that was soon put to rest when I saw how uncrowded it was compared to when we normally go. Cass was tall enough for almost everything so my daredevils had a blast. The concert was great. 98° opened and I didn't really care about them, but they were surprisingly good and the girls loved them. It started to pour before BIIM came out and the girls went to sleep in the van with MH. The concert was so good, despite the rain. They still put on a great show and the crowd was wonderful. Glad y’all had a good day! The state fair will be here in a few weeks and I plan to take M out at lunch so we can go without the crowds. I wish I had BIIM to look forward, too, though

lahdeedah, it was so worth it to beat the crowds. We got to go on SO many rides. It was much more fun without the lines. And really, what's a half day or a day in the grand scheme of things? Have fun.

Starting last Monday, when Dude gets 10 green points at school, I am letting him skip so I can take him to Knott’s Berry Farm.

We are going to Mickey’s Halloween Party on September 24th (me, Dude, X, and my sister). chrisy01 Gave is her tickets last year when L was too sick to go. We had a blast, Dude got to to dress up, and the lines were super short. So I decided to buy some this year and take X now that I know what to expect.

I know this is a real long shot but is anyone using a carrier for one of their bigger kiddos?
X is still wanting to be carried a lot and tires easily due to his hypotonia and DCD. But, he’s also huge (currently 38 pounds and wearing 5T clothes).
I know @caishov had a Kinderpack for V as he got older. Anyone else have experience with that or a similar carrier?

cagoldi - I have a friend who is a certified baby wearer (who knew that was a thing!) and still wears her 4.5 year old on occasion. I'll ask her what she recommends!

I think I have vertigo again. Ok, I know I do but right now it's coming and going so I am hoping it lessens over the weekend. Especially since I have a work road trip Monday. Dh is leaving work early and picking up C so I can wait out the dizziness a bit after I take meds so I can safely drive home or wait for a ride. Does anyone have experience with this?

cagoldi my friend said the kinderpack is a great option and she also likes easy feel easyfeelproducts.com She also said that wrapping just with a woven wrap might be good , that the tighter compression from the woven fabric can be really calming (I'm guessing kind of how a lot of kids respond well to weighted blankets. She really is a wealth of knowledge

No experience, but I'm sorry. That really sucks and is definitely inconvenient.

Hi from the pedicure chair. I took the afternoon off last minute, which led to a funny conversation with my manager where I assured him it was mental health time, not an interview. It was actually a really good conversation once we got past that bit. Anyhow I grabbed a few things from TJ Maxx, signed up for a membership at the MediSpa (to make sure I keep going!) and now this. Only problem is that I'm super ticklish today and I've almost kicked this woman multiple times. I love this place so I need to not do that!
I'm heading up to Mass solo tomorrow for my best friend's birthday party and crashing there overnight. I'm so excited to have some time with my friends.

cagoldi dd is a little lighter, but at 3+ we’re still using the ergo 360 with her from time to time. I have a friend who loves the Tula carrier. ETA i just looked it up, the ergo Goes up to 45lbs.

Dh is leaving work early and picking up C so I can wait out the dizziness a bit after I take meds so I can safely drive home or wait for a ride. Does anyone have experience with this? Ugh, I'm sorry wedding. I started having intermittent vertigo/syncope/lightedheadness in HS. It was at its worst then, improved to rare occurrences, but in the past year has become more frequent (used to be every couple of months, now it's every couple of weeks). I think with me, some of it is just getting older and my body is more sensitive to certain things. Luckily it usually passes quickly (I know your sxs linger), but it happens more often now that I have to stop and hold onto something until the sensation passes or else I feel like I'd pass out. This used to happen maybe once every couple of months, now it's about every other week. My family isn't used to it yet so when I suddenly stop and lean onto the wall, close my eyes, and not respond they are like "hello, earth to mom!" I've had to educate them that if they see me like that to just be calm, not badger me, and give me a minute. Thankfully the full-on passing out is very rare (last I recall is 7+ years ago). I've never been able to get a definitive dx/tx plan. I just notice what works for me. I have some vasovagal issues (standing too quickly). Sometimes it seems completely random although I suspect it may be linked to lower-than-normal BP because my regular BP is already fairly low (usually in the healthy range).

cagoldi, I feel your pain...I have to carry S far too often still! And it’s killing my back. And while I’ve never used a carrier with her, we stroller a lot still. She’s 38lbs. I ended up getting this: It folds up small and is easier to pack around. And it does better for bigger kids than the umbrella stroller. S was getting too big for the umbrella stroller, it wasn’t comfortable for her anymore.

Also...our small town Walmart just got a Caroline’s Cart, the ones for kids with special needs. It’s amazing and a game changer for my shopping experience. I used it for the first time yesterday. Soooo much better than the other options I have. Which is the front part of the cart. But it’s hard to get her in and out with her braces. Or the open part of the cart...but she won’t sit still, tries to stand, etc. and even fell out one day with the babysitter because she doesn’t understand safety boundaries. Bit this thing is great... my only complaint it that it’s designed for bigger kids I think so the harness wasn’t a great fit.

MH’s debit card was compromised today. He was in training an hour away, and leaving town for the weekend straight from there. So I had to run to the bank and get him a temporary card and then drive it to where he was training so he has a means to get by this weekend. This stuff never happens at a convenient time!

We have a little money left over from the house project so we're going to take a vacation at the end of this month or early Oct. Trying to decide what to do. We could do a 5 day cruise, fly to Portland and hit up Willamette Valley, drive to Austin and hit up the wineries in Fredericksburg, go to Galveston and eat at all the fine dining places and do things there.
Decisions, decisions. If we go to Willamette we'd have to stay in a cheap hotel to stay in the budget, which I'm fine with. I've never been on a cruise though. There are only a couple of things in Galveston that I've never done and I don't think MH is too keen on that option. Fredericksburg is about 4.5 hours away and we could stay in Austin a night or two.
