The link isn’t working for me but I will search on FB. Thank you for sharing. From what I could tell last year Black History Month, Caesar Chavez Day and other similar important events were not incorporated into DS’s school. They held a multicultural night near the end of the year. I was not happy with this but it was our first year and the Principal’s first year so I was in observation mode. I plan on being involved in PTA this year and raising my concerns about this. Our elementary is the most diverse in our district so we should be celebrating and educating on diverse issues and history.

Thanks for sharing! Resources like this are helpful for me to be able to make sure my kids understand the history and nuance of race and racism in the US. If they ever decide to return to the US as adults, I want to make sure they are educated on these issues.

Idk what’s wrong with it, but yeah if you search for it on FB you should find it. Last year another parent and I were talking about doing something school-wide for Black History Month, but too late to plan anything, so we decided to save it for this year. This looks like it would fit the bill! We are at a relatively new school too so we’ve given them a lot of grace, but I also think they could do more to ensure equity and celebrate different cultures.
