What do you use for a diaper bag? Call them diaper bags, mom bags, whatever you want. The bag you'll carry around most when you're out and about with your kid to hold diapers, bottles, wipes, toys, etc etc etc.
Show me what you've got and how you use it. Do you babywear and walk/public transit? Hang on the stroller? Put under the stroller? Take from car to inside where you're going?
We just moved from very urban living where I baby wore and we took public transit or walked often to the suburbs which is mostly driving here and there with some stroller use but also letting the toddler walk (and I will wear #2 when s/he gets here). I don't know if there's one answer or I need multiple bags for different scenarios. Or how big of a bag for two kids in cloth diapers. We currently use a regular backpack most. Debating if a bag which hangs from the stroller handlebar would be worth getting or just continue with a backpack and tossing it under the stroller.

I use a backpack. I find anything else (messenger style or shoulder bag) to be impractical for me, especially while baby-wearing. Will your toddler wear a backpack of his own? I am trying to encourage mine to, so that he can carry his own snacks/toys/change of clothes.

Also if you are new to driving places, I keep a supply of diapers, wipes, spare clothes in the car. That way I don't feel like I have to keep as large of a supply in the diaper bag to carry with me and you have backups if you forget to replenish the diaper bag or whatever.

I use an LLBean backpack. Easy to wear when baby wearing, stash under the stroller, etc. I used one of the Original Junior backpacks leftover from my camp counselor days but it recently died so I upgraded to the Discovery. I’m loving it so far. Finally having two water bottle pockets on the outside is a game changer. +1 to piratecat’s suggestion of emergency car stash for necessities.

I used cloth with DD and used a Graco diaper bag backpack. I could stuff that thing full of diapers. It was great. I like the backpacks because I want my hands free. DD HATED being worn so I needed my arms to carry her or hold her hand when she got bigger.

I had a solid black Skip Hop backpack I liked when DS was littler and required more stuff. Now I stick a pull-up and flushable wipes in his tiny backpack and/or my Kavu rope bag when we’re out. And we have the emergency car stash too.

Would not have thought of that. We're seriously not used to so much driving!

Two outside pockets for water bottles is key!
