Can I just say two is exhausting? The constant no, yes, no! Like damnit child do you want the string cheese or not?! Sorry just had to get that off my chest. ah, toddler logic where blue is rectangle and yes is elephant.

piratecat that is hilarious and frustrating. My kid had a hard time at first but he is getting better. Sometimes he will throw out something that is not an option and I just keep redirecting him back to his options.

Also on today's episode of things my child does to drive me to insanity... Please do not use my own parenting methods against me.
*Brought to you by my child who has NO chill telling me I need to be patient this morning.

OMG yes! We really have to limit choices otherwise it is a shit show. I have had to retrain how I say things to "do you want X or Z" instead of leaving it open ended. Giving two choices is how he ended up asking for "milk water". Oh yes. We have "pancake cereals" for breakfast.

I traumatized DD this morning. I was rambling in the car about how cold it's getting in the morning and how we have to keep an eye out for the first frost. I said "if we get frost we need to pick all the vegetables immediately because the plants will die from the frost." Well you think I just told her that we were going to murder a bunch of puppies. She was absolutely horrified that the plants would die when it got cold. So then I had to scramble and say that it's normal and that all the plants go to sleep in the winter but they come back in the spring and if they don't get rest in the winter they're too tired to grow. And that we have a new garden each year.
After drop off I called my mom and asked her to pick up a book about seasons when she goes to the library. Out of all the things, this is what she's upset about? My word. π€¦

It's become kind of a running joke at daycare that every single time I go to pick him up he whines and says "I want daddy to pick me up". Except that one time I picked him up early and he said "I want to go to a restaurant and eat mac and cheese!" and all the teachers were cracking up.

I can't wait for DS to be all about his dad. It's all Mama, all the time. He asks to "hold you" fiftyleven times per day. He will always pick me over DH or SD. (My mom trumps me, tho. He and Grandma K are thick as thieves.)

Yesterday at daycare pick up the first thing M said to me was, "I miss [friend's name]." He left for the day an hour earlier than normal and this was tragic in three-year-old-land.

My kid doesn't seem to care for other kids and my husband is convinced he'll be friendless for life.

sheilathetank The first year we involved ds in the garden he was so excited to plant the seeds and watch them grow. Then he picked his very first cucumber and wouldnβt you know, it was his best friend. He carried it around all day and refused to eat it even though he loves cukes.

Daycare told us to bring in a picture of our pet (or a picture of an animal your child likes if you don't have a pet):
Me: We need to bring in a picture of Hank on Friday to show your friends. DS1: Yea. DS1 a few seconds later: No, I want to bring Hank to school.
Sorry kid. I don't think your teachers want an 80lb Labrador running around.

For STMs when did you start wearing maternity clothes? Last time I got to 15 weeks before I even started. I'm 10 weeks now and there's a definite bump. Its small but it's right where my pants zip and clothes are fitting less and less.

Its small but it's right where my pants zip and clothes are fitting less and less. First time around, I made it with a belly band until 3rd tri and didnβt need maternity shirts until 15ish. Second time, 10ish weeks? This time around, I made it until 14-15w before I had to transition. I have what I call intermediate clothes, though- one size up in pants and flowy/loose shirts ETA- I have had more coffee... I mean, I wear those intermediate clothes to make it as far as I have. Otherwise, I donβt think I would have. I bloated right away

Its small but it's right where my pants zip and clothes are fitting less and less. I couldn't button my pants past 7-8 weeks the second time. The belly band got me a few more weeks in normal clothes but then I went for comfort and was in maternity jeans late first tri. I couldn't believe how much faster I showed.

Its small but it's right where my pants zip and clothes are fitting less and less. It's so very different for everyone. My first pregnancy I bloated up immediately and my breasts went up a size by 7 weeks, so i was wearing a belly band early first tri. My second pregnancy I had no bloating and didn't need maternity clothes until the end of the second trimester. The whole "you show earlier second time around" wasn't true for me at all.
