Hi!

B started back today—hooray! He was so excited. My friend was at the school and saw him getting off the bus so she texted me pics of that, too. He was with his buddy Wesley and they looked like 2 peas in a pod

C and I ran errands, and got groceries and lunch out. She starts back on Thursday.

Bus is due in 45 minutes so I’m reveling in the quiet while C watches Mickey 🙌🏻

Grr...I'm so annoyed. The ongoing saga with my bonus continues. It's 8 months late with no estimate yet of when I'll see my money. I'll probably be due for the next one by the time I get this one. They were also trying to get me to put in extra days last week (3 hours away and staying in WWII barracks with no AC and possibly just a bunk and no private room). How about you pay me first for the work I've already done.

My ear infection seems unstoppable. Second round of ABX hasn't done anything. I can't close my jaw on my right side and I can't get into ENT for another month.

At first is was so swollen it wasn't physically possible. Now I can, but I'm trying to avoid it unless I need it so that air can get to it.

So I tested positive for strep b, which I'm not pleased about. And I'm 2cm dilated, so kind of nervous about when and where I will go into labor. I feel like a ticking timebomb. Otherwise induction is set for 9/17 if I make it that far🤞 right now my goal is to get through a meeting at work tomorrow that I am leading...

I’m sorry your ear is still causing issues. Can you call the ent and say it’s urgent and try to get in sooner?

I'm so ragey about the bonus. It's a considerable amount of money and I've done everything on my end to try to facilitate processing it. My commander is in the same boat and she's advocating for me but the issue is on a national level so there aren't even contacts for me to harass.  I would be blowing up phone lines if I had a clue who to call. 

When I booked with ENT they put me on the waitlist and that's the best they can do at this point. The receptionist told me they prefer I have a hearing test first (I get my hearing aids through Costco so I get my tests through them and not my medical provider). I said big no to that. I don't need to pay a copay for another appt that will further delay me getting the ENT appt. I'm going to see if I can get my records from Costco.

The staff at my new school is amazing. So many people stopped by my room and introduced themselves. The teacher in charge of my department left me a welcome note with her phone number and where I can find her every period of the day. I mentioned some supplies I needed and right away everyone in earshot gathered them up and dropped them off. At my old school, people could have 1,000 pencils hoarded and wouldn’t even let me borrow 1. DH had the kids all day today but then had to run off to hockey with DS as soon as I walked in. T lost his first tooth while I was gone but since I hate wiggly teeth, it’s a win for me and also didn’t have to make him the first visitor to the school nurse tomorrow. Tomorrow will be crazy I’m sure, getting all of us settled into a new routine but I’m looking forward to my new job.

I've discovered that if exercise involves more than light bouncing like for jumping jacks and certainly if there's full-on jumping, the likelihood of peeing myself is high. I don't even know if this is due to kids or just getting older. Being an aging woman is fun.

Drop off for the first day went well but when I picked him up at after care he sobbed that he hated it. It sounds like it was chaotic separating the kids who bus home and who have after care pick up and maybe he was put in the bus line and then moved because he was upset he didn’t get to ride the bus. He’s going to take the bus there in the morning so that calmed him a bit but it was heartbreaking. The teacher sent a couple of pics and he looked very happy.

inthekitty both thugs are bullshit. Has your Dr cultured your ear to see what it is and what it is resistant to?

klong11 it sounds like it’s moved to your chest and you have bronchitis. Did you get antibiotics for the sinus infection? I wonder if you need something stronger.

I got home and was spotting so spiraled there for a bit but I think it's just from the exam today. But that did get me to pack a hospital bag!

We have a girl name and boy name is down to two. One we had cut earlier because it was too common, but otherwise we liked it. The other has the same first and last initial and is a bit more trendy. May be a game time decision if it's a boy! We joked that the doctor will get to weigh in on it.

B's first day went well; he "made some new friends" and saw several old classmates from preschool in other classes, and can't wait to go back tomorrow, lol. His teacher seems super organized and communicative, which I like.

wedding I did 5 days of Augmentin, but that was it. I have my inhaler, which I have used a couple of times. When I went on Saturday she said my lungs sounded good.

I had multiple coughinh fits this evening, which resulted in me vomiting while Cadence watched. She then wanted to know why people throw up and what does the body say to itself that makes it do that. And our new favorite word....why?

Thanks for the commiseration. I'm frustrated to say the least.

wedding no culture yet. The first two times I went in I went to the walk-in clinic (which is great because for basic things you can be seen really quickly) figuring that I just needed some ABX. But to get a regular appointment for more involved care takes a ridiculous amount of time.
