We really are the same person. I am planning on making chocolate chip pumpkin bread this weekend! ok that sounds amazing! Omg it is so good. I use mini chocolate chips and it works perfectly to get the right ratio of chocolate to bread.

We finally made it to the pumpkin patch, the simple, local, mom & pop, cash only pumpkin patch. This year we ventured out into the field, picked tons of gourds (ended up being an overflowing diaper box full), then grabbed a pumpkin for each boy and 2 pie pumpkins. Figured it would be $10 or so. Nope, $5. It was worth more than that just to get out in the patch and have the boys discover each “tiny little pumpkin” and “this one with 2 colors” or “this black one”.
DS3 had such a good day and loved his cookie cake. I ended up with a few, so there are 2 more in the freezer, but they were so easy to make and I had everything on hand. He even had a surprise day off, I didn’t see in the absurdly written note that it was a teacher work day. Whoops.
Hoping to head to the big pumpkin patch this weekend with my parents, so if the rain could stay away, that would be perfect.

clucky $5 for all that?? Wow. We have a farm near us where for $10 per person you get a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, a large pumpkin, 2 small pumpkins, 2 gourds, and 2 ears of colorful corn. But there’s other places around here that are absurdly expensive, like $10-15 for a larger pumpkin.

I’m off today and have dropped B off at daycare. #1 on my agenda is drinking coffee and watching Friday Night Lights.
This weekend our zoo membership gets us into the children’s museum. We haven’t been yet and I’m sure it will be busy but I’m excited to try it out.

Good morning! Work is slow today. I am thinking about how hungry I am. I will be taking an early lunch. I got a pay raise this morning! Our union reached an agreement with our employer a couple months ago and I am finally seeing the results. I should also be expecting some back pay from a title reclassification that should have happened almost 2 years ago (almost on C's birthday, actually), but couldn't because there was no contract. So dumb. But I am excited to finally see that money.
We had Back to School night for DD1 last night and it was great. I LOVE her program, and I LOVE her teacher. She seems to genuinely enjoy the kids, and she was saying that they all work great together. They were all quietly playing with toys together in the back of the class room while we were there (meanwhile, H had to take the feral one outside to the playground, lol).

They have a swing set up and added 2 porta pottys this year. 9 to dusk from sept 15 until they run out of pumpkins. They aren’t planning on expanding, she just likes to use that bit of land for this little project. It is crazy how many people have discovered them when people post their hauls on FB. A few people got mad at the posters saying they were ruining their quiet pumpkin and fall decor shopping. LOL

thatgolfb, finally! Congrats! clucky, I can barely get a regular pumpkin at the grocery store for $5, that's awesome. Now I want to make chocolate chip pumpkin bread! We don't have much planned this weekend, so maybe I will. Do you have a good recipe pootsen, thatgolfb?

You do have to really make sure it is cooked through, though, fair warning. I can't remember if I mentioned here, but I use mini chocolate chips in it and they work great, a little better than regular sized ones, IMO. www.allrecipes.com/recipe/6820/downeast-maine-pumpkin-bread/

DH took DD out for dinner with a friend and I'm meeting my friend from out of town for shopping and dinner 😄 Anyone else have a little feeling of guilt or something when they go out when their kid is awake? I know I shouldn't, so why do I? 😩

What’s everyone up to this weekend? We went to the fancy pumpkin farm yesterday for FIL’s birthday because they have the best caramel apples. They have a pretty awesome playground too and we did a hayride so the kids had a good time. It’s cold and rainy out today so not sure what we’re going to do.

I did leave yesterday and he wondered around looking for me apparently. I still haven’t slept in a different location than B and I know I need to get over that, but I feel like I’m not ready.

We had a fabulous vacation. I’m so glad I have tomorrow off to recover and get laundry done though! I’m also going to visit my friend and her new baby 😂
My H leaves tomorrow morning for a hunting trip so I’ll be solo with the boys this week. We have a ton of plans for the week so it should go fast although it may be a little stressful.

Friday night we tried a babysitter (not family, friend or nanny) for the first time and went to a marriage date night at church. It went well. We are going to try to prioritize date nights more often.
Yesterday was my company family picnic. Kids had a blast in the bounce house (even DD with her arm which is healing sooooo fast).
Today has been low key. Dh put a bike seat on my bike so I tried it with DD for the first time and whoa, I’m so out of shape! It really changes that center of gravity!
Tonight’s homework needs to be refreshing for our dive next weekend. I haven’t dove in 5 years and I’m really nervous.

Also DS is talking so much the last 2 or so weeks. So many new words, and now he’s “singing” wheels on the bus. Much like twinkle twinkle it’s just babble but holding the tune of the song

I’m sitting outside trying to see if I can recognize the beat of the bass I can hear from a local music festival. There is a rock band we all know playing tonight. It’s a nice night out.

And E is doing this thing where he is trying to jump but only gets one foot off the ground. It's super cute.

Much like twinkle twinkle it’s just babble but holding the tune of the song N does some of Wheels, too. He moves his arms around in circles while saying "row ah row". It is super cute. And this kid is SUPER athletic. He runs, like legitimately runs in good form, and can jump with two feet. He is starting to talk more but I can see why it was delayed...he was spending all of his time becoming a professional athlete.

So many new words over the last couple weeks here, too. Some of you saw on IG that C was singing "Daddy poop. Daddy pooooop!" I was dying. She also woke up the other day and said "Mommy! Food! Eat!" Like ok calm down.

Snuggling C while the boys watch peppa pig. I keep mocking the things they say and Ds1 is not impressed. Speaking of Ds1, he has his first loose tooth! He just turned 5 in May, I feel like this is kind of early? But maybe not! He’s excited for the tooth fairy.

Does anyone have a problem getting their kids to eat? C is so picky. Tonight he outright refused dinner, which he does somewhat frequently. He loves milk and eats plenty of snacks, I know he’s growing, so he’s probably fine, but it’s just a little disconcerting when he refuses to eat a single bite at a meal.

Both N and E have nights when they hardly eat any dinner. My doctor always said they front load their calories. I always supply food I know they will like and cross my fingers. I figure they will eat if they are hungry. Some nights are difficult and other nights, like pasta, I can’t fill them up. Once E turns 2 I plan on starting a multivitamin. He’s a lot picker about his veggies than N is.

Dinner is his worst meal. Partly because he snacks while I cook it but without doing that I would never be able to cook anything! If he’s not eating what I made I’ll give him a soy yogurt or pretzels and hummus. He is on a 1/2 flintstone vitamin (when I remember 😬) because his iron was low at 15months but he’s growing great so I don’t worry too much!

Yes! C has had another huge language explosion. She's putting sentences together and her speech is pretty clear I'm really impressed with how well she talks. Thank God too, I hate that phase of knowing how to want but unable to talk. C mostly skipped right over since she's been blabbing for a while now.
She's not a uper picky eater. She loves bold flavors, hot, spicy, all of it. But if she can't have exactly what she wants then she won't eat. And both kids have been in a non-stop snack spiral for weeks. So little meals, so many cheeze its.

Tonight A picked the melted cheese from his grilled cheese, then spooned his soup into his plate and crackers he crushed up. His favorite foods are often what H has on his plate, but even that is hit or miss. He is sticking with the kid classics: hot dogs, sometimes chicken nuggets, dry cereal, cheese, peanut butter. He will also eat spaghetti and homemade Mac & cheese. He is refusing milk and wants to nurse 6-10 times a day.

C randomly started pulling at my shirt and mouthing at my boob the other day. I haven't nursed since she was 15 months and even that was only once a night at that point. Girl, no, lol. I doubt they even work anymore.
