snip The parents really don't discipline him and are just like, "Oh, his free spirited personality is so cute!". I feel like he'll just disrupt the class and I was afraid C would try to go along with it if he was with him. This attitude slays me. Before my hiatus I think I told y’all about the kid at speech...climbing all over me, touching my feet, etc, while Mom does absolutely nothing. This past week the little girl started rooting through my handbag! A few minutes later she started moving chairs around to stand on one to try and talk to (read: annoy) the receptionist in her little office. Mom says to me in a very fawning tone, “she’s just so independent.” No. She’s a kid who’s had no discipline or correction and it shows. When Maddie had K Round-up (going to K classrooms and completing some activities to determine classroom placement) two years ago her school did it under the guise that it was to test academic abilities. They did about 5 activities including writing their names, and going over counting/ABCs with the teacher. This time around with Cass they didn't even pretend it was for academics and it was clearly to identify challenging children. The kids had to listen to a story and then do basic activities like play with blocks. One girl in Cass' group would not stop talking throughout the story and then kept getting out toys she wasn't supposed to play with. You could tell she had no boundaries at home. Her parents looked like stereotypical PNW hipsters who probably never tell their little darling to not interrupt when adults are talking and is constantly encouraged to share her brilliant insights.

Mom says to me in a very fawning tone, “she’s just so independent.” No. She’s a kid who’s had no discipline or correction and it shows. OMG to some other kid getting into my purse. I don't know that I would have managed to not say anything about that nonsense. Go through your mom's purse, she isn't paying attention, so bring me her cash and cards! I was flabbergasted! When I told/asked her to stop and started to take my purse from her (it had been tucked under my seat), she tried to hang onto it. I’m thinking, am I really getting into a tug-of-war with a 3 y.o? Mom finally said, ‘no, no sweetie, that’s not yours.’ 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ There’s been other stuff this summer but last week was like, wooooooow. ETA: I also had to tell 2 kids last week—in my serious I-Mean-Business voice—“Now that’s enough. settle down before someone gets hurt.” They were throwing books at each other, and one clipped B in the head. Those 2 are always fighting, and mom occasionally swats at one of them, but her eyes never leave her phone. It is a bunch of winners there.

This article is very true. ‘We’ do hate the term ‘daddyday’ or in Dutch ‘papadag’, are the other days mommydays ???

I'm upright. I just cant move quickly or I get a pain surge that knocks me on my ass.. cant turn my head or even look down. I'm assuming this is self inflicted because I slacked on drinking water this week because it's been cooler out. Trying to drink alot of water.

So a little update to the daycare drama with B being targeted/bullied lately. I sent the email to the Director and owner on Monday morning, outlining all the incidents and questioned what their intentions were with creating the zero tolerance policy, it was taken seriously because one of the kids was suspended yesterday for the day due to an incident on Wednesday with a different kid. I'm obviously not happy that it took me to speak up for them to do something but I'm satisfied that they're taking it seriously.
I'm also happy for mine and B's relationship that he told me everything and he sees that I advocate for him in times like this.

vino I am so glad they took it seriously and acted accordingly. Also, that is so great that B told you everything. That is one of my biggest concerns for S that I fear he bottles stuff up too much and sometimes doesn't share issues with us. Good job all around

So...my H is kind of redeeming himself. He is picking Evie up from school today. He has sent me 3 text messages about pick up, which isn't for another 50 minutes. Last night he had to text me and ask who her teacher was. He's asked me what time she gets out of school, if he stands by the door, etc.

I’m glad they are taking action. vino Sorry that it took you forcing their hand for them to realize it needs to stop.

vino obviously I have missed the backstory but I'm sorry y'all are having problems with daycare (I'm assuming aftercare now?) I hope things will be resolved to your satisfaction. Good for B for speaking up. So sad that kids are getting into this kind of nonsense so young.

So the movie was less Dora-meets-Lara Croft, and more Dora meets Legends-of-the-Hidden-Temple (am I dating myself here? I kept expecting Kirk Fogg to jump out with the Temple Guards). Anywho, it was...unexceptional, but the kids enjoyed it. I couldn't figure out if it was poking fun at Dora, or what. Oh well. I got some movie popcorn and a cherry coke out of the deal.
We hit the grocery store and are now home, and I'm having some wine. I had Amazon'ed a new kit of play food for the toy kitchen, and it was delivered while we were out. The kids have been so entertained since we got home...playing restaurant, etc. This is the best $12 I've ever spent.

X has swimmer’s ear. Poor guy. So we’ve got antifungal drops twice a day for ten days.
Pipsqueak’s diapers and stroller arrived today so maybe I will take him out for a walk once it cools down tonight.

I stayed home with the kids today. The contractors put a 2nd coat on the kitchen & living room and picked up the exterior doors. They’ll start installing those Tuesday.
I doesn’t the entire day putting the front 2 rooms back together. I can’t hang everything in the wall myself but it’s about 90% done. MH is at the airport picking up a college friend. They’re driving to Dallas tomorrow for the Auburn game. I had to get the room presentable enough so he can sleep on the air mattress in there.

flamingo I am very familiar with Legends of the Hidden Temple although I was more of a Guts person or that Nick game show where they opened high school lockers at the end. Or course Double Dare was the holy grail of Nick game shows. Your description is how I feel about most kid movies. As long as I get time to knit in peace and some popcorn I consider it a good deal.

Hahahaha, the one with the lockers, was that "You Can't Do That On Television?" Did it also have lots of flatulence noises? My mom forbid that one, but my Nana would let us watch it when we were at her house. (she also loved Steve Urkel and Keenan & Kel on "All That", LOL) The 90s was really a golden era for kids' television.

So I got a text from a co-worker saying Smokey the Secretary came into the conf room during tacos this morning and loudly asked if I was getting divorced. I was pissed. So I told my coworker I was going to email her and call her out on it and bcc the office manager because my personal life is no ones business. She got all weird telling me not to and to just make note not to talk to Smokey any more. F that, this is my life. So I email and bcc the office manager saying I am out sick and notified the appropriate people. Me being out is nothing else and how unprofessional and inappropriate it is to talk about others personal lives behind their backs especially in the office setting. I get an email back from the office manager who has now cc'd the partners and it basically sounds like she is belittling me and saying that I'm "sensitive" to people talking about me. I put the bitch on blast and left the partners cc'd. I don't have "sensitivities" I have "don't talk shit behind my back. My personal life is no ones business but my own" So then the office manager replies just to me apologizing and that she didn't mean to sound condescending. Apparently, when I talked to my attorney getting divorce info, he went and told one of the partners who then brought it up at the monthly partner meeting. WTAF????? I also then get an email from Smokey apologizing profusely, saying there was no one in the conf room, just the coworker who originally texted me, and she had asked her if I was going forward with the divorce. Still not ok, but now I'm pissed at the coworker because she told me it was in front of like 5 other people, which was I guess, a lie. I now don't feel comfortable there because I feel like everyone is talking about me and I just want to quit.
TL,DR: My coworkers/office sucks and they like to talk about people behind their backs.

We had k open house and they had kids fill out a worksheet and it was super hot. J looked a bit bewildered since it was a reading/writing task and needed help and it kind of broke my heart. I said he could draw his favorite food bc I was going to melt if I had to help him sound out hamburger. There seem to be a LOT of boys. Teacher seems nice but I don't think she taught k at her previous school and wasn't too impressed with the toy collection..

klong11 your work situation sucks. It seems like a law firm would be more sensitive to people's private information and most companies. I hope people start to mind their own damn business.

Kids are asleep. I downed a big icy glass of seltzer and went outside to vacuum the pool in the quiet. It was a weird, but nice way to relax. Josie has a great second day. They had STEAM class. She came home weaving some wild tale of experiments and drawings and scientists. I knew she would like this special. She asked for pizza to celebrate her week so went to a new spot (and it was as close to ny pizza as I’ve found). I’m getting into bed soon to watch the new Netflix rom-com Falling In Love.

Heading to the ER in a bit. It's only gotten worse. Hopefully you just need some morphine to knock it out. My coworker usually goes about 4 times a year to get some when her migraine gets too bad.

Chase started saying his belly hurt a couple minutes after getting his food. He doesn't usually make things up so we had everything packed up and went home. He ate a bit afterwards and seems fine now. Crossing my fingers that it was a fleeting thing.
DH sent some pictures of Colin at the stadium looking so happy. I'm really glad the weather held out since they were talking about this for about a month now.

I’m so sorry klong11. Are you not entitled to attorney client privilege if you consult with one? Can an attorney share with partners about stuff like that? Was Smokey in that room or was it you told her since she’s in your office and she breached your trust. I’m just wondering if it’s a personnel problem or a bitches being bitches problem. Either way it’s sucks so hard and I’m sorry your personal shit is being talked about. peachsmama I hope they can give you some relief.
