My mom sat with J and I got M to the sitters and hit the post office while I was out. I got him breakfast and set up with a movie and MJ is asleep. I'm cranking through work at a rapid pace and hoping to get a lot done before she wakes.

Well Josie started kindergarten this miring. She woke up at 630 literally bouncing with excitement.
Drop off was a little chaotic. We got to the school playground at 820. School starts at 825 so they were just bringing the kids in. We could see them walking in while we were entering the gate. I thought they’d go in at 825 so that was confusing to me. I guess me and mh are used to the high school bell system, that it starts at what time the bell will ring.
So I walked her through the playground to find the doors locked to get in, a gym teacher took pity on me and let us in. I ran her to her hallway, and a preschool teacher took over and walked her the rest of the way. Not exactly the ease-in I wanted, but Josie seemed un-phased and excited.
Tomorrow we’ll aim to be there at 810-815.

Pete picks up the kids from school this afternoon and I don’t see them again until Monday night. 😢💔
I’m thinking about setting up a fun little activity for them each time they come back from a weekend visit so they know I was missing them and excited about them being back home. Maybe a cookie decorating station for the first one.
I signed up for more PureBarre classes and have tons of homework and deep cleaning to work on, so hopefully that keeps me fairly busy.

Hi. I’m at urgent care with N. She fell on her scooter at my parents and hurt her foot. I’m not sure it’s serious but figured it’s better to get it checked now than wait since we have a full weekend. The top of her foot is a little swollen and she’s limping. They said it’s an hour and a half wait, so I dropped H off at dhs office so at least I have some quiet.
We’re heading to the gopher football game tonight and it’s a beautiful fall-ish day and we’re going to tailgate before with my sister and her family. Should be a fun time!

MH got home from work trip today and I am hitting deadlines so I feel like it's the end of week. Tomorrow may be hard coming back to work.
Last night E woke up 2x crying that his knee hurt. Pretty sure it's growing pains but the tears were hard for me late at night. I probably would have stayed in his bed if there was a better pillow

Hello from the office! Today was the big annual picnic our office landlord throws and as usual, the weather was perfection and we all enjoyed some sun and too much food. I also had a slightly restrained but still very frank discussion with my manager about feeling simultaneously like I have no support yet wishing people would shut the hell up whenever they DO decide to speak up, because YIKES. I think he's finally realizing that just because I'm not overly loud or outgoing doesn't mean I'm not opinionated.
In other news, Col's had a couple rough nights, which I assume is anxiety related to back-to-school. He seems very happy but it's still a big transition for him, so hopefullly he'd settle quickly.

Josie came home excited and exhausted. I let her watch tv for about an hour, she drank a smoothie and then proceeded to have a meltdown over a soccer ball she thought Charlie was hording. I let her yell and stomp away, then I drew her a bath to see if she just needed to calm down all around.
Please let this be just a first day thing!

Well, N had a teeny tiny fracture near here growth plate on top of her foot. They tried finding a walking boot for her but didn’t have anything her size, but said a good, study shoe will work. So hopefully the new tennis shoes we got yesterday will work okay. We go back in two weeks for an X-ray. Dance and gymnastics also start in 2 weeks, so hopefully it heals quickly!

J and I had our mom and j day. Mh took off since he was off yesterday and tomorrow, so he took us to the metro and N to school. We saw Superpower Dogs, which was great. And then toured the museum and ate lunch outside. Now trying to get organized at home and tons of laundry. We have back to school night tonight, so I'll be doing that and we will all go to the open house tomorrow afternoon.

slenle hope she heals quickly. lfig that is so sweet. It's always assuring to know someone who cares for your child genuinely enjoys them. peachsmama yuck. I hope you stay bug-free and your brood feels better quickly. klong11 I'm sorry lady. I hope you can get some good rest and recoup. guster yay for what sounds like a successful first day. Understandable that she was a bit overstimulated at the end of the day. Hopefully that well settle soon. lahdeedah glad he's partially better. I'm gross and enjoy lancing stuff, but unfortunately my kids aren't always willing participants. vino lolz. I'm embarrassed that I have been using a super old vibrator and need an upgrade. #treatyoself and all that cagoldi definitely treat yo'self this weekend girl. joelies we sound like similar people at work. I'm glad you were able to voice some of your concerns to your boss. I hope you see improvement/acknowledgement.

I survived my first day of work. Everyone was super nice. I was unloading all my stuff from my car and a group of guys came over and took it all to my room for me. Then I got pulled over for the first time in my life going home. Luckily I was in town and had my family gold card on me. I’m now back at the beach and the weather is back to perfect so I’m ready for a nice weekend.

Work has been insane and I've been trying to just go with the flow. My boss is a nice guy, but very aloof and not a good boss. Our team if very self-sufficient, but the few times we ask anything of him he is typically worthless. I was already overbooked tomorrow when I'm the only one here to cover for the holiday when another patient was added.  He did ask that it be rebooked, but that hasn't happened yet. He has made some efforts today to try to ease our load and basically said if deadlines can't be met he understands. So I appreciate that. I went to the doctor. No surprise my ear is still a mess. So I'm on my second round of a different antibiotic. Madison happened to be seen by the same provider before me and we saw each other in the pharmacy. She also has an ear infection. The poor girl woke me in tears at 0115. The doctor said she was very specific and articulate and stated, "I woke at 1:03 a.m. with ear pain." Lolz. That's her. Hopefully the meds will work for her soon. Both the girls got their teacher assignments and are very bummed. I know the first few weeks will be rough for them until they adjust. Maddie is a very sensitive child and Cass is sensitive too, but in a different way. Cass' teacher is the one she had K round-up with, I have a strong suspicion that teacher requested her because I could tell she liked Cass. I tried to assure her of this, but I know it will just take time. |

Hi! The pool party was fun. B has hit it off with my friend's little boy...they knew each other peripherally from preschool and b-ball but I think they might get to be pretty good friends. C also had a blast, everyone there had a little sister around her age  I'm bummed, LSS my sister/nephew aren't able to come this weekend with the storm, etc. Fortunately she was able to rebook her tickets for October. This is the 2nd year in a row my Labor Day weekend plans have been screwed up by a hurricane (yes, I realize this is a FWP). Now to figure out how to entertain the kids for the next 4 days! I've been saving Lion King for the proverbial rainy day, so we might do that. |
