I have one. We don't subscribe to cable. One of the biggest reason is we can't stand Fox News and that's what my folks have on practically all day, everyday when we had it.

And somehow my dad found an app on our amazon firestick I think? or maybe on our antenna? I dunno and don't want to know so they now have access to Fox Damn News! Hubs said he was going to see if he can block it

duskymonkey, DH and I basically watch no TV. Our current FIOS triple play plan has one of the cheapest TV packages - one step above local stations. The only stations that get watched are local news and public kids TV, and that's mostly my mom and DS. This FFFC post made me remember that our FIOS was due for renewal, so I went in and tried to downgrade our TV package to just local stations. Ended up needing to talk to a live chat person, and determined that it would be cheaper for me to keep the plan I had instead of downgrading since I have some special bundle deal. Oh well, more stations we won't watch lol.

I don't drink (when not pregnant, obviously not drinking now either) but don't like buying alcohol for my H when I grocery shop. I will do it occasionally but othertimes tell him he's on his own. I'm a teacher and it feels weird (to me) when I run into my students or their parents and all eyes seem look straight at the big case of beer in my cart. I should probably get over this and all but I feel super judged (even if nobody is actually judging) whenever I do buy it and I just prefer not to buy it anyways.

I have a higher tolerance for heat than DH and am using that by hiding in the bedroom upstairs to avoid him. (We have no AC, it's like 78 up here)

We also have no cable, just a laptop hooked up to our TV. We watch a lot of Netflix and YouTube, when I'm not on here or FB.
My FFFCs (thought of them after a couple randoms this week):
#1 Our refrigerator light bulb has been out for at least 2 months now. We just keep forgetting to replace it, and at this point I think we're just used to it.
#2 I don't remember the last time I cleaned our coffee pot. The one I got as a high school grad gift 8 years ago. I know I've cleaned it at least once since then, so there's that.

So I have a phone line but no phone attached to it. lol

Oh well, more stations we won't watch lol. That was another one of the reasons why we cut cable soon after DS was born too and I went back to work. There is hardly anything worth watching. Right now we are able to get the basic network (CBS, NBC, ABC etc. ) through antenna which includes PBS and is the only channel that has worthwhile shows. We only have Amazon prime because it's part of Prime. So we don't even have netflix or anything else for that matter. We just have no time and so tired after work to watch anything ever since DS showed up. We get stuff from the library or from hubs brothers so we're like 2-3 seasons behind most shows lol! which is fine with me. I mean we just finished Dexter and Breaking Bad sometime the beginning of the year lol! Any sports that hubs wants to watch I think he subscribes to the team app and streams off the tv. Also I can't just sit and "watch" TV - I usually need to be working on some handwork project in order for me to watch tv and currently I have nothing besides catching up on sewing stuff which I've been doing during the day now. Once I reach my next milestone, I'll feel better and may be able to start knitting some stuff for baby. And plus also, I just found out that you can stream some shows off PBS app through your streaming device. So I am actually really excited about The Great British Bake off! SaveSave

duskymonkey Like on the antenna post was for your H's plans to block Fox News. Also - I loooove the Great British Bake Off! We also get the Australian British Bake Off here in SEA (BBC is one of the few English channels we get here). Add me to the list of people who don't pay for cable and don't really watch TV. Since we're overseas, we don't have access to the U.S. channels, and the local ISPs love to throttle/block international internet connections/VPN speeds...which limits our ability to stream Netflix, Amazon video anyways. Oh well - I've actually gotten used to it, so it's not a big deal anymore.

We haven't had cable since 2009. We used to have a computer hooked up for streaming, but now we use a Roku and we have two blue ray players with streaming. We pay for commercial free Hulu and have access to Amazon Prime with our Prime account.

I'm late to the game. Sirius/XM has Yacht Rock Radio back on for the summer and I am so addicted to it. For those who have satellite radio, it's channel 17 and you're welcome! If you don't, it's 70's soft rock. It's so cheesy but for some reason I love it.
