Shit! Poor M and poor you? Would you ever get a second opinion? Will they do them all at the same time? I was wondering this too. I'd be hesitant to do any major dental work on baby teeth. Please remind me, do you or YH have major dental issues? I was just wondering if M was genetically predisposed to unfortunate teeth issues. I never had any cavities growing up. MH says he did. So would you just not do anything about the cavities? Can you do that? Or have the teeth pulled? I don't know anything about teeth.

Took M to the dentist & she needs 3 crowns. FML. Shit! Poor M and poor you? Would you ever get a second opinion? Will they do them all at the same time? I don't know if I can with my insurance. I'll call Monday to find out. The previous pediatric dentist at this practice left so we saw a new doctor today.

tgrimes, N had 4 stainless steel caps and 4 fillings done back in September. The dentist said because his cavities were on his molars and they're not supposed to fall out until 10/11 years old that something needed to be done. If the cavities go deep enough it can effect the adult teeth.

Took M to the dentist & she needs 3 crowns. FML. I have never heard of anyone needing such extensive dental work on baby teeth...one of my friends had a son that had a baby tooth pulled though.

There's something in the water with these husbands this week.
When we finally get our asses in gear and plan our GTG, we should send them to husband boot camp.
What bullshit.
In my next life I'm coming back as a man.

Husbands are the worst. I don't think mine has done anything exceptionally annoying today.

It's just so frustrating when I follow all the rules, you know? The dentist kept asking me if she was still in a bottle or if I had any pregnancy complications because usually weakened enamel is from something like that. I'm the one that brushes her teeth twice a day. She doesn't get anything but water after that and during the day she only gets milk or water, no juice. She doesn't eat a lot of sugar, other than fruit. Wtf else am I supposed to do? Sorry, I know I unleash on y'all every time I take her to the dentist. I know some people are just predisposed to cavities but I'm annoyed. Thanks for listening/reading.

When I was a teenager they put this gel/liquid on my teeth to help strengthen them. It's hereditary so I was scared LO got it but (fingers crossed) he hasn't had the problems. Good luck!

tgrimes I have weak enamel. The boy has had 1 cavity. We filled it. It really wasn't a huge deal. I'm religious about making him brush his teeth, and floss. But it happens for some people, don't beat yourself up. If they're cavities, you don't want to just ignore it though. You don't want it to go deeper.

Yeah, M had 2 cavities filled last year and we were keeping an eye on the third one hoping the tooth would drop down more to fill it rather than put a crown on it. Those 2 fillings were no big deal. This is a little more extensive and she'll need to be sedated. It will also cost me a fortune.

tgrimes ugh I'm sorry. It's really nothing you're doing wrong. I had braces, multiple oral surgeries, cavities, etc. and I take good care of my teeth. Some people are just predisposed to it. Don't beat yourself up. My mom likes to joke that she bought my dentist's beach house. Which is funny now. Not so funny at the time.

Yes, our water has fluoride. Ugh ours doesn't. Ours either. Which is why my teeth are like butter. We're going to have water hauled into our cistern that has fluoride. I don't want the boys teeth to be like mine. I had 8 cavities by 5.

I know some people are just predisposed to cavities but I'm annoyed. Thanks for listening/reading. We're the same. The first dentist tried to blame it on breastfeeding, my OB runs the breastfeeding clinic here and has a ton of awards for her work... she was not impressed! We brush his teeth twice a day, he doesn't get sweets aside from the random treat here and there, he gets very little juice and the juice he gets is always watered down to 60% water 40% juice... we weren't doing anything wrong and it happened. N had to be sedated when they did it and while he had a tough time coming out of it (crying etc.) he doesn't remember anything about his teeth and has never mentioned the caps. While he was out a nurse/dietician came and spoke with us and after mentioning how it happens and foods to avoid and realizing that we did avoid those she said "Some kids just have very soft teeth, it happens. He will hopefully grow out of it and his adult teeth will be stronger." Don't beat yourself up, you're doing everything you can.
