I was out on vacation yesterday and managed to come back to 4 new assignments. So same old same old around here.

I noticed that I'm the only one scheduled to be here Friday and I put in a month ago that I'd be leaving midway through the day to attend the annual hospital "fun" day. It's pretty boring, but I chat with one of my friends from another dept while my girls play kid activities and leave early. So in other words it's the best day ever. My boss better think twice if he tries to recant on my approval to attend since no one from my team will be here in the afternoon.

She hasn’t thrown up since Sunday but the little she has eaten causes terrible pains. Today she had 3 spoons of Cheerios and 2 blueberries.

Thanks for the good wishes! A buckle fracture it is, so 2.5 weeks in a hard cast. The ortho did say it isn’t uncommon for kids this age to play Houdini and free their arms from the casts, so not to be alarmed if I check on him one night and find it on the floor. If that does happen, we use the brace until we can get an appointment and then they’ll cast over the elbow.
He’s in good spirits. His normal self so it’s business as usual over here.

Well at dropoff there was some flooding in N's classroom which was odd. As expected there was an emergency closure of her class at 12:45 bc kids didn't have a place to nap. So now I'm home with both kids. Hoping it's open tomorrow but not holding my breathe. Sounds like a plumbing issue and treating it as dirty water...which got on their cots with sheets on them🤮

Picked the kiddo up. She acted like she was going to cry when she came up to me, but by the time we got to the parking lot, she was saying she had fun. Didn't make any friends today, but she wants to go back.

I asked her if she cried this morning and she said she had tears on her cheeks, but she didn't cry. She only ate 3/4 of her sandwich so she is snacking now.

DD has a rash on her arms and legs now. Dr thinks it’s something in the coxsackie family. Wants us to give it 2 more days unless she gets more dehydrated.

Taking the boys for ice cream in a bit. I have some serious cabin fever.

All the fire alarm drama reminded me my fire extinguishers were recalled like 2 years ago. I went online the other day and today 3 new ones showed up at my house. Maybe I will be able to sleep with them in my bed 😂

Tigger can open doors and has been opening the attic door and playing up there. But it's not insulated so the air conditioning was running all day trying to cool it until I would notice. And the door knob doesnt lock. So I've been telling A for WEEKS to switch the door knob with one of our extras that lock. He hasnt. I got fed up and just did it myself. While I was making dinner. Took me 3 minutes. Then hes like "I was gonna do that.." 😒😒😒

I feel like all he does is look at me when I talk. Doesnt listen. Doesnt acknowledge me. Just stares at me....

Welp, total change of opinion. Shes been crying saying she doesnt want to go back. Trying to figure out why, the only thing shes telling me is that lunch was horrible, because she was the only one who brought lunch, everyone else bought at school. I told her she can get lunch at anytime and I added money to her account. We then looked at lunch for next week and she doesnt like anything.

Kid is going to bed soon, shes so tired so hopefully a good night's sleep helps.

I'm sorry mwhip. Col went back and forth all year between loving school and mysteriously not wanting to go back. I think it's normal but it sucks to feel so helpless.

guster - Sorry to hear about C but he looks completely unaffected on IG.

Every night M says he doesn’t want to go to school the next day. He always has a good day, so I know it’s just him not being adjusted to the new normal.

Just a heads up in case you don’t already expect it, tomorrow may be rough. In my experience, the second day is always the hardest.

Our AC isn’t cooling, which is ok because it’s cool enough to have to windows open thank goodness. I think it just needs to thaw out and then it’ll work again.

The doctor put dermabond glue over my incisions and it’s taking every ounce of will power I have to not pick at it. Especially the stuff in my belly button.

I ended up taking the girls to the mall to try to find school shoes for H. She decided on a pair of mint green and purple under Armour sneakers. So much for neutral.

X has an EI. He’s been acting super irritable but I just figured with the family changes and having trouble with expressive communication he was frustrated. Wrong. I had no idea he was having a physical problem until I saw fluid coming from his ear last night. So, ten day course of ABX for him.
