The weather is going to be really nice today.

It's my kids first day of kindergarten...how did this happen? She told me she doesnt want to go.

When I finally make it to work, I will be in a meeting until at least lunch. Then I need to leave by 2:30, to pick the kid up. Nothing will get done today.

Good morning. Today is DS1’s 12th Birthday. I was suppose to take them to Dave and Busters then he wanted take out for dinner and out for ice cream but DD is still so sick. DH usually takes off work but he couldn’t today. My sister has offered to take him and T but he’s still mad at me. I’m baking a breakfast cake for him now. I was up from 3-5 with DD.

jewels, mwhip, H slept fine and woke up with a temp of 99.7. My MIL is keeping him today since they're doing work on our house. He was in a good mood and very excited when he saw grandma.

I did good...she was about to lose her shit as I left.  You can see a steady progression in all the pics I took.  At home, big natural smiles, by the time we are in her class room, totally fake, barely there.  I could tell the tears were about to fall when I was walking out...I put my hand up and said 'You'll be fine!' as I walked out.  I wanted to poke my head back in so bad and check on her, but knew it was best to just leave.

Got out the door on time again today! Cadence took 2 movies to dc and she was excited to show her teacher. Her teacher decided to act like a bitch this morning and completely ignore both my child and myself. She's lucky I didn't throw the damn end of summer party cupcakes in her face. She's like that, her teacher, some days she is super nice and talkative and other days she doesn't acknowledge anyone. 2 more days, 2 more days.
It's the last day for a lot of Cadence's friends, so I know it's going to be a pain getting her to school tomorrow and Friday.

Bad timing, but we went and looked at a dog at the shelter yesterday. It was just me and Cadence, but I wanted to see how the dog interacted with Cadence before moving forward with the idea. Super sweet wheaten terrier at the shelter, she's 3 years old. We were hanging out in the room with her and Cadence went to pick up one of her toys and the dog snapped at her, sooooo, that ended my interest in the dog. I don't need Cadence getting bit or one of the cats getting bit. I felt bad, because it seemed like it was a playful snap, but it scared the shit out of Cadence and she started crying. The dog looked at me like, "oh shit, my bad" and was very sad when we left without her. I have a feeling she will be adopted quickly and will do great with a family with older kids. She just wasn't the right dog for us.

I have been trying to mail a package for weeks now and it’s still with me. I went to UPS today- third time in the past week- because I had another package that needed to go back, and the lady told me they didn’t take postal packages. When I get to the post office, I forgot they don’t tape boxes so I left with it. Also, the worker said UPS does take their stuff because they have a carrier go up there to get it. Grrrrrr.... I want this package gone!!

Sorry about my stupid rant, but I just can’t get right to get this thing mailed off.

klong11 that's sad about the dog. I've researched that breed and have read they can be not great with kids. I love the size and non-shedding aspect though. The right dog will come along

Haven’t read yet. Charlie fell yesterday afternoon— he was literally watching tv and walking back and forth in the family room. He been holding his left arm in place since then. No tears, no wincing, but really avoiding movement.
We took him to urgent care this morning bc he was acting the same way. X-ray confirmed it’s a buckle fracture. He’s in a brace now — he keeps pulling it off. We have an appointment in a half an hour with the pediatric orthopedist. Urgent care seems to think they’ll hard cast him.
Good thoughts, please!!

Oh my guster, poor C! I hope he isn't in a lot of pain. If he keeps pulling the brace off, a cast will probably be best for him, to make sure it heals properly.

Oh no guster! I always worry about stuff like that happening with the kids. I Feel like I never take them in for things like that. B b/c he never complains about anything, and S b/c he complains about everything so I don't take it seriously.

So my SIL just texted me that her 2 y/o twins both woke up with a fever this morning. They were at our house Saturday - yesterday and spent a majority of their time with my kids' toys in their mouths. So now I am paranoid.

Aside from not using his arm, you’d never know it was affected.
I agree on the hard cast — i’m sure it will be challenging with the rest of the summer ahead of us but on the positive side, he hates going into our pool, and we’ve already been to the big beach for vacation!

Morning!

I went for a massage last night, something I never thought I'd do, but I havent been feeling good lately and it is time for some self care.  I'll do massages once a week for a bit, throw in a chiro appointment for a couple weeks and try and commit to 30 minutes of activity a day and hopefully feel better overall. 

Of course when I got home MH decided that he wasnt speaking to me from a conversation, not even a fight, that we had over dinner so he ruined my self care mojo that I was in. Fucker.

guster poor guy. I hope it heals quickly. It’s crazy how easy some kids break limbs.

guster oh no, hope the cast will be for a short time. DS1 broke his wrist at 3 and I think he only needed the hard cast for about 2 weeks.

Boys are out with my sister, I’m waiting for a call back from the doctor. DD is wrapped in a blanket and won’t eat or drink. Hers lips are dry and cracked and she keeps doing something funny with her tongue. I’m worried about dehydration.

Oh man kim22 I'm sorry. Maybe you can go to an urgent care to get some iv fluids or something to hydrate her. poor kid.
