Baby jail is a success, and C doesn't seem to mind it because it's big enough he can roam around (The one I got came with 15 panels, and I got it for only $20!)

Did anyone nurse only in the morning and before bed with a previous LO? I'm down to only pumping/feeding dd2 2-3 times a day and I'm wondering if I can just stick with 2 feeds a day for awhile and see how it goes (and obviously give milk throughout the rest of the day). Or will I be uncomfortable all the time and should just wean completely?

My timeline: Sept '16 - DS1 born Sept-Dec '16 - Maternity leave Jan-his bday Sept '17 - Pumped 3x day at work, nursed on demand whenever we were together The rest of Sept-Dec'17 - Pumped 2x then down to 1x a day at work, nursed on demand whenever we were together but by the end of the year it was mostly morning and night Jan '18 - Quit pumping at work, continued nursing morning and night Got pregnant in Jan '18 and supply was gone by March when he self-weaned basically overnight right around 18 months old because I had dried up so quickly

brenna - So yes, you can totally do it. If you find yourself uncomfortable, you could hand express a little to relieve the pressure. This is a good idea for preventing clogs and/or mastitis anyway. Your body should learn the new level of milk demand and adjust appropriately over time.

Or will I be uncomfortable all the time and should just wean completely? I did that with DD when she was a little over a year and had no issues. I had to gradually wean off the pump during the day, but I had no supply issues and weaned her of my own choice at 22 months.

C has started trying to share his food with people, which is super cute, but also kind of gross. Sorry dude, I don't want a bit of your slobbery hot dog chunk.

Or will I be uncomfortable all the time and should just wean completely? When I went down to only two sessions a day we did before nap and before bed. DS was distracted enough with breakfast and playing in the morning so we dropped the morning session first. I didn't have any engorgement issues, but he was older and I was pg with DD so my supply was decreasing anyways. +1 to what Nymeria said - just hand express if you get uncomfortable and your body will adjust.

There are 2 other moms who use the pumping room at work and I am pretty confident one of them (and I know which one) took my spare Medela bottle out of my bag and used it today. Since I came back to work in January I've kept 1 empty bottle in my pumping bag which I leave at work then bring 4 with me each day in my bottle cooler. I have never forgotten one.
This morning during my first pump break, I am confident I had 4 bottles that I brought with me plus the 1 extra in my bag. I vividly remember putting 1 full bottle in the fridge, attaching 2 to the connectors/flanges to set up for my next session, and tossing the 4th in my bag. Since there was already an extra one in my bag, this would have meant 2 in my bag now. When I came down for my 2nd session there was only 1 in my bag.
I asked if she happened to see one lying around and she said no but if I happen to find it I'll leave it out for you. I really want to give her the benefit of the doubt and not assume, but I don't believe her.
I still left my bag in the pumping room but took pictures of exactly how things in the bag were arranged in case anyone messes with it. I don't care about the 1 bottle, I just hate feeling like someone has gone through my stuff. And I literally have no other explanation for where the 5th bottle could have gone to.

I feel like I've got THAT kid. DS (9.5 months) is in this awful awful biting, pinching, grabbing and hair pulling phase. It's embarrassing because he does it to everyone. Not in anger but more like he's so excited and wants to consume them. He does it to my parents cats too. I really just don't know what to do about it. I've tried redirection, ignoring, showing him constantly how to do "gentle hands", and even give him things to chew instead. I don't want an asshole baby. Lol! I'm constantly having to be on his ass in fear he is going to hurt another kid. Help!

Keep up with the redirecting and gentle hands and hopefully they sink in as he gets a bit older.

Nymeria Thanks, yeah I don't think he gets it either. He also laughs when I show a sad face or angry face so that doesn't work either. I just truly hope it's only a phase. I'll be rolling up to playdayes with him looking like Hannibal Lecter. Lol

pixiepink24,it's so hard when they're so little because they just do not have the capacity to understand they are hurting someone else! When I worked in childcare, we would attach a teether to a pacifier tether and clip it to their shirt so you could immediately shove it in their mouth if they tried to bite. Redirection is really the only thing you can do at this point. C bites me while nursing sometimes and then get mad at me if I hiss or make a noise! Sensitive little beast. He's gotten much better with the biting recently and doesn't do it all the time anymore, so hopefully your DS will grow out of it.

pixiepink24 dd2 hits and pinches too which dd1 is always quick to say "we don't hit!" Haha. I just try to tell her no hitting or show her "nice hands" but I think everyone knows that you can't really expect them to get it at this young of an age.

DD has had a huge leap in pretty much everything in the past week! She's walking on her own, says "hi", "bye", "yay", "uh oh" and does the sign for all done. She's staying to figure out how to go down stairs backwards in her tummy too 😀 I can't believe she'll be one in a week and a half!

Have to AW a bit, a photographer friend was looking for baby models to do cake smash pics for her portfolio and I volunteered C because he was the age range she was looking for and these pics are seriously adorable!!! He just turned 10 months yesterday, so they’re early for birthday photos, but I wasn’t going to pass up free pictures. Spoilers because they’re probably big images

Dramaphile those are adorable! Dd's birthday party is this weekend! It's crazy how fast but also how slow this year has gone by. I don't remember what it's like to not have a ridiculously messy house (especially with two tornado toddlers now), or be so busy all the time, but to have two wonderful, loving girls is so worth it!

I can't figure out what to do about a birthday party. All I'm trying to do is immediate families plus a couple cousins, and I can't find a day that actually works with all the important people.
Sept 14? SIL's 30th b-day party Sept 15? Dad gone & 1/3 brothers gone Sept 21 or 22? In laws gone both days (offered to reschedule their trip but I feel bad asking), Mom gone the 22, 2/3 brothers gone the 21, likely all 3 brothers could make it the 22 Sept 28? Mom gone, 1/3 brothers gone Sept 29? Dad gone, 1/3 brothers gone
I wanted more time to test DS2 with baked egg so I really don't want to go earlier than the 2nd full weekend of September, but I hate the idea of pushing it off to October. I don't know WTF to do and it's stressing me out and making me feel like I shouldn't even bother. Which then makes me sad and guilty because as it is DS1 got a huge party and I'm just not up for that so I already feel bad DS2 is only getting an immediate family party which is being shared with DS1 because they're birthdays are a day apart.

Nymeria sorry for the b-day stress. I feel bad that my DD will have a small party too when my DS had a big 1st and 3rd. I hope you're able to pick a day that works for as many people as possible.

A year ago today(almost exactly to the minute) I headed into one of my biweekly appointments to check on the baby and found out that her cord potentially had a life threatening issue. I want to thank all of you for all the support and words of encouragement when I was so distraught and worried. It's amazing to have a healthy daughter after all the worry and stress throughout my pregnancy and delivery but I wouldn't change a thing!
