Ok guys, I bleached the diapers after all the yeast and rinsed A LOT. I think they still smell like bleach, but it might just be our water. I sent Z and W in cloth Monday and Tuesday, and Z came home sort of red on Monday and bright red on Tuesday, so they're back in disposables until she's clear again and I can figure out what happened.
Even the ones they wore Monday and Tuesday, which then went through 2 more full wash cycles because I forgot to do a prewash, smell that way.
Help? We've been through 2 giant boxes of diapers and I want to get back to cloth, but I don't want Z breaking out again. Her poor little backside reacts to everything.

Did you use a lot of bleach? 1/4 cup is usually enough.
I know mine usually smell mildly like bleach, but not strong.

I'm pretty positive that my washer's bleach cup is just over 1/4 cup. They just barely smell, but I'm not sure if it's bleach, or just the chemicals in the water I'm smelling.

I hate hate hate bleaching. It legit takes 6-8 full washes to get the smell out.

When I bleach the smell doesn't completely go away, even after several extra rinses. After they are worn and washed again then it's gone.
Have you tried fleece liners? Maybe it would help her sensitive skin?

I hadn't thought about liners (have them, don't really use them), but she had a rash all the way around, so I think I'll use them when we go back after this trip.
