J is just over a month old now and we've been doing cloth during the day and disposables at night. I think I'm ready to try cloth at night - any tips or advice? We have prefolds, GMD fitteds, and Kawaii P&N pockets (MF inserts) and right now he goes 3-4 hour and between feedings and I think 4 hours would be a stretch. I would be open to buying other diapers or different inserts that might work better but is there something I could try with what I've got? Double-stuffing the Kawaiis? What works for you and what didn't? Thanks!

I honestly don't remember if we used anything different overnight at the very beginning, but we went straight for sloomb obfs for overnights when they stopped pooping overnight. No idea when that was. Would a prefold, maybe with/without a mf insert in a kawaii work? or if the GMD fitteds aren't enough for that stretch, add a padfolded prefold outside?

I used a prefold and an extra MF or bamboo insert with a cover for a while with Nugget at that age and it worked well for us.

These are all great ideas, thank you! I'm going to try them out and see how they work.

My 3 1/2 month old uses a free time with a hemp doubler at night, or a smart bottoms or simplex with no doubler and we've had no leaks. And it's on her for about 9-10 hrs. So I would start basic because that's probably enough for now. Prefold stuffed in a pocket probably. M is a heavy wetter too.

I have to change disposables at least once per night so I was assuming I'd have to change his regular cloth diaper more frequently. I would love not to change overnight. ETA: It totally makes sense to start basic.

I used GMD fitteds with 2 GMD small hemp doublers for overnight until around 5-6 months. I did size up pretty early for overnight. That would get us through the whole night without changing once he stopped pooping overnight. Until then I just used the GMD fitted with no doubler as I was changing every 2-3 hours anyway. It would have made 4 hours no problem.
After that, I had to use an overnight fitted like Sbish or Twinkie Tush until he stopped nursing overnight. We could never get away with a daytime diaper overnight once we stopped changing.
