Some guy showed up to do an annual inspection on our septic system. Of course I'm nursing MJ so I put my boob away quickly and answered the door. Then she spit up and this guy physically revolted as it ran down my shoulder and chest....

I just tried to get small candies from the gift shop. I had two dollars worth and a twenty dollar bill. The lady looks at me and sighs, then points to a sign that reads: No $20 bills unless the purchase exceeds $5. 😒 Heifer. I really wanted those damn Laffy Taffy’s.

Sunny41, my brother and niece are meeting us at a little cave/animal park place in between our house and theirs the weekend before school starts and this weekend she's going on her first sleepover at Grandma's.

We usually would be doing something this week, but not as a before back to school thing. It’s usually because this is the last week we have to do anything before football takes over our lives for the next 5 months. Because we are going to my ILs for a wedding, we won’t be doing anything else. I could send M to summer camp those days leading up to school starting, but I’ll keep him home so we can do some fun stuff Monday and Tuesday.

Our Kindergarten orientation is 8/27- only one week before school. I was told it would be mid July so I am a bit annoyed but I guess everyone is in the same boat so I will let it go. Hopefully we at least get the shopping list prior to that. I am ready to shop!

I haven’t even gotten a date yet for our school orientation! Our neighbor is a teacher and she said office staff doesn’t go back till the beginning of August so we should get info then. I don’t like having to wait so long to find information out!

I called today and they said letters with more info in the new school year will be mailed Aug 12.

Our meet the teacher is three days before schools starts. We’ve met Josie’s teacher twice, but not in a whole class setting. I’m excited to
see how the room is decorated.
They gave all the incoming kindergartens the book, Miss Bindergarden Gets Ready for Kindergarten so I would guess that will play a role in the first few days.

J's last day of preschool is the Wednesday before, so mh and I are each taking a day off and having N go to school still and going to do something special with him. We may ride the bus into the city and go to a museum and see a movie or something. Hopefully it won't be 100 degrees and me be too pregnant to enjoy it. Mh is taking j to the aftercare open house, but not sure of their plans otherwise.

I'll be honest. I am half tempted to get a cheap flight and get tickets for 2 days to Disneyworld. I suppose I should plan to go sometime but probably not as a last minute trip.

How do people watch for deals for Disney world? Like last minute hotel deals

Hotel tonight is kind of super last minute.. or I the you can do hotel alerts on kayak like you can for flights. That'd be super fun! We did not over plan (or really have a plan for DL) and we had a great time.

I don’t have any special before school plans. Next week DH is on vacay from work and we have plans to go to the fair and down to the Omaha zoo. Maybe a water park too, just depends on how the week goes.

Honestly it all depends on the season and how busy the busy season has been. It’s been super slow at Disneyland so they are doing a lot to get people to come in.

Check with AAA if you have it. Sometimes they have great ticket prices
