CNN is making a big deal about Mark Meadows not coming to Elijah Cummings defense.
Especially since earlier this year, he stood up for Meadows after the racist remarks.

I'm so irritated that the narrative on the Sunday shows was, "Mueller was a mistake! Impeachment is dead!" Meanwhile 12 (13?) Democrats have come out for impeachment in the past week.

So, do we suspect the 3 republicans announcing their retirement last week are folks who can't get on board with 45 but are afraid to speak out? In my head, they are retiring to avoid the circus but are too chicken shit to say anything. I wonder how many more we'll see. There are a lot of old people who are probably nearing that retirement age...

I'm infuriated by this, you* had the opportunity to do something and you were too scared or you were able to get what you wanted when he was distracting everyone else. You are worthless and should never ever be given a platform again.

Just to compound on this, this is my obligatory Mark Meadows is a racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic piece of shit who won the 11th because of partisan redistricting that removed more Liberal Asheville from his district. His “I only do what my constituents in God’s Country want” is vile and pathetic.

Agreed, but I'm trying to hope maybe they'll still do something before leaving office. Missed placed optimism, no doubt.

Not sure if this is the right place, but I’m trying to avoid a family feud on social media... There seems to be a demographic of people who get super riled up about property damage, but are silent about black and brown people dying. Anyone else notice this? Brought to you by a FB post this morning about how BLUE is the truly threatened group in America because some cops car got vandalized.

Yes, that is about 1/3 of my family - the branch of the family tree that has several police officers in it, so not a huge surprise there.

Some good news for the day. PM Moodi signed a law that will protect the Tiger in India. THey are also taking the lead for development and environment. In the past 2 years they added 2500 square miles of forest for nature to reclaim. And are coming up with sustainable ways to live with the environment.

Brought to you by a FB post this morning about how BLUE is the truly threatened group in America because some cops car got vandalized. There was a post on nextdoor last week that was about respecting cops and included a video of people throwing water at cops in another city. Like ok? I’d rather have water thrown at me than be shot. And one person actually said “it’s no surprise they are getting shot at when they behave like that”. OMFG. That’s what a person not only thought but thought it was ok to write on a public forum. Everything is prioritized over black and brown bodies. Civility, property, “rights”, even animals. Everything.

The militarization of police forces is something. I live in a town of just less than 100k, we have zero need for those armored vehicles and yet here we are. It can be a very gestapo-esque mentality.

“Many of those affected were firefighters, police officers and other first responders,” Trump said. “And I was down there also, but I’m not considering myself a first responder. But I was down there. I spent a lot of time down there with you.” www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/07/29/brief-history-trump-making-about-himself/He then said that the stage might collapse under the responders there and their families because there were so many of them, but it’s ok, they wouldn’t fall very far. To 9/11 responders. Of whom lost their friends and family when the towers literally collapsed and crushed them into dust. What the absolute FUCK.

The weird pseudo-worship of police officers honestly freaks me out. I get that they sometimes have to go into dangerous situations. But you know what would keep them safer? Not letting guns be so ubiquitous in this country.

So Ratcliff had the best audition for DNI
He has a wonky eye.
Also he thinks Obama admin should be investigated for war crimes

Today has been rough. The aftermath of a mass shooting is so hard. I’m lucky to not personally know anyone impacted, but the nonstop coverage and the proximity are making me stressed.
