Dd's first birthday party will be in almost exactly a month! What is everyone's plans for first birthdays?
With dd1 we invited our friends and family over for a BBQ but we asked for no presents and didn't really have a theme or anything.
I'm not sure what I want to do for dd2, probably sort of the same thing except it's going to be super hot outside so I don't know if anyone will want to be outside so that might make it a little more tricky.
Tell me about what you did for your first LOs and/or what you're thinking for this LO's first birthday.

Girrrrrl, I've been planning this bday party before he was born. Lol! I love Halloween so much that I knew I wanted a Halloween theme.
I've got one of the youngest here so it's not until Oct 26th but we are either doing a Pumpkin theme or Monster Mash theme with Cartoon Vampire, Frankenstein and Mummy. It will be costume party with lots of candy and normal Halloween fun/activities since it's the last weekend before Halloween. We will probably do it at the Masonic lodge my dad belongs to because I don't have a house to do it at anymore and there is an amazing park and splash pad right next to it.
I found the cutest outfit on Amazon to take some One year pictures in. I did some maternity DIY ones in the sunflower field last year so I'd like to do his one year ones there too. I'll attach some pics of my ideas. Lol!

For DD we had a barnyard theme party because she was obsessed with cows for a bit. Had a hay bale and fence for pics, made all the punny foods, pig pen (pink balloons in ball pit), fish pond (pool), hay ride (wagon filled with hay). ETA that this part You was July 2nd in ATL so very hot and we did it outside. Luckily our backyard was shaded and we had some of it inside too. Plus a baby pool for the kids to cool off and we BBQ'd outside to keep the ovens off and used sternos for the food to keep warm on table.

I don't know what we're doing. We just had a big party with about 45 people for DS's third birthday, so I'm kinda not looking forward to shelling out a bunch of money for another huge party! I thought about maybe just keeping it to immediate family this time, but we'll see.
Regardless, we'll probably have the party outside at our house. The weather should still be decent enough. We have a big covered patio so we set up tables under there and rent a big bounce house for the kids. We'll bring in some easy food.
DS's first was a Wild One theme. For DD I want to do something with cutesy llamas 😄 But I'll keep the decor much more minimal. I spent too much time and money on DIY stuff for DS's first b-day party.

tbirdloveLlamas sounds adorable!!! I also saw a cute theme of baby cactus/succulents and thought that would make for such a cute 1st birthday theme.

This was my inspiration for the llama theme. We got this for DD at a small zoo. It's a "Llama Pegacorn" 😂 It's so random and so cute that I had to get it even though we so do NOT need any more stuffed animals in this house! After we bought it I decided I wanted to do a llama theme party.

I didn't even know this was a thing! The tag on it says Llama Pegacorn, so that's what I've been calling it. Made sense to me: a Llama, a Pegasus and a Unicorn 😂

Little did we know that she'd become very attached to it and takes it everywhere. We get a lot of funny looks when she shows her piggycorn to everyone haha 😅

I was just contemplating C's first birthday party and what we want to do. Might make it a combined Halloween party since he was born 10 days before and it's my favorite holiday. Plus, except for last year we've had a Halloween party almost every year.
Or maybe something superhero-related (DD's first birthday was Wonder Woman-themed)

For M we did a wild one theme with where the wild things are. She had a BBQ outside because June.
I think rainbows for P because she’s our 🌈. We will have moved about a month before her birthday. September in Ak can be very unpredictable it could still be warmish or there could be snow. So I think we will just plan an inside thing.

I guess it doesn't actually look that much like a pig, but DD thought so. It's so tiny though and she loses it all the time! haha

Dd2 and I just went to party City to wander around and I got some hibiscus flower plates and some bright colored cupcakes liners so I think our "theme" will be bright colors and slightly Hawaiian/summer themed. Looking at dates I think we're going to do her party on August 24th. Her actual birthday is the 29th but we can't do it the following weekend because we have a family wedding. We are not really big party people so it's just going to be a BBQ at home with some cupcakes and no presents. My birthday is the 25th, is that weird? I don't want the party to be at all about me.

brenna Love that theme! And no, it's not weird. DD's party was the day before my birthday. No one really knew and I randomly had two friends give me a cute card.
