I'm so tired. I've been so busy but I can't even say at what. Nothing abnormal. Just feels like a lot I guess.

We had the allergist today. My mom got out of work early so she could come to house and hang out while J napped so I didn’t have to bring both kids. Luckily, they didn’t do any testing but they want me to get a blood test done on B since the last blood test we had done was in 2016. I decided to hold off today. My friend is a phlebotomist and I sent her the sheet and she said anywhere from 4-8 vials. So I’m going to wait until the end of the month or even next month.

So quiet lately. What's everyone up to? Nala went to vet this AM, and there was a 3rd cracked tooth to be removed! L had speech playgroup this AM as well and came home covered in mud! If they're going to play with the water table, and water wall, we're going to have to start throwing him in crocs. We're trying to figure out how to prevent Nala from chewing through a new kennel (mind you she broke thru her metal kennel door which caused her to crack said teeth) and she's the one we used to not be able to leave out because she'd get destructive. Maybe have to get another baby camera so we can watch and talk to the dogs. I don't know! She's 11, we've had her since 6 months old, she's never done this before. We're at a loss of what to do, but we have a prescription for her to get anti-anxiety medication. I had a plus size mom in a normal swim suit (like a competitive suit, not a bikini) and someone (she won't say who) tell her she should be wearing a proper bathing suit. This lady does triathlons and coaches, she swims masters competitively and her suit covers EVERYTHING. I think it's because she's plus sized and I'm sad for her. I didn't witness this and she won't give me the name so I can't do anything but why do people need to suck.

So quiet lately. What's everyone up to? Trying not to die in this heat. We've had a pretty mild summer up until now so I've been spoiled and I'm not at all acclimated.

Cheshie6 your poor pup (her poor teeth!). It's not cheap but we're looking at the furbo because Asti really hates being left alone - she had never been alone until after Luna died and she's still not adjusting to us having to leave her sometimes. You can talk through it and even have it toss treats to your dog (lol). That also stinks that someone said something to that woman about her swimsuit. People suck.

Just trying to figure out what we are doing today. It's really nice out so maybe the park. I have to get the kids out of the house because all they have done is fight this morning. B has started biting, probably learned that from J. and its really aggravating. That kid is in time out more times than I can count lately. September needs together here now so my kids can go back to school.

Another slow day today. I have a couple meetings and I started my final "task" that I had on my list for work. I was kind of hoping to avoid it but I have nothing else to do right now. I really just need the supplier to give me the quotes already. It's been months and it's getting ridiculous.
Tonight I think we're going out to dinner with H's aunt and uncle who are in town. I'm not really in the mood. I like them and we only see them once a year or so, but he's one of the only people on FB that posts really stupid pro-Trump shit. He never talks about it in person but it's harder for me to separate people IRL and on FB lately. I've already had to unfollow him to get a break from it.

H had 6 vials after the CF testing. Luckily the lady was really good with him and kept him distracted. Now M on the other hand would have needed 3 people to hold her down. Lol.

That’s terrible. When B was 9 months old they tried to get the blood through his arm and he wasn’t having t so she had to prick his finger. He took forever and he kept clotting. I have no idea what to expect with him this time around.

As long as they can get a vein this time, it doesn't take that long. You just have to keep them occupied or distracted. H is so much better with blood work than M is. She's uncontrollable most of the time. I've only been successful at bribing her once. Lol.

waitwhat I am so glad you’re discussing this (the allergy blood testing). We had AB retested (skin prick) in Feb/March and remember egg came back minuscule (esp since last year it was HUGE) but tree nuts came back as a possible allergen. Not huge, just mild reaction. The allergist gave me a paper to get him blood tested. I’ve delayed bc (a) we eat almonds on the daily and he is around them constantly (other tree nuts we just don’t even eat) and (b) this kid screams screams screams bloody hell when he gets a simple shot.. I am terrified trying to figure out how to subject him to someone drawing blood. And that’s when I thought it was gonna be a simple one prick thing. You saying there could be VIALS ?! I just don’t know how I’m ever going to do this. And i feel like a shitty parent every day that passes but in my heart I also feel like a shitty parent knowing he’s gonna have to sit there, be held down, scream, and get pricked ten times before they figure it out (ETA when I don’t even really think he has a tree nut issue, or any other ones right now). The only labs in my area are like the Quest labs and on my local FBmoms page they are reviewed horribly esp with children. I don’t even know what to do. ETA he eats egg no problem now, direct scrambled etc. also, now AV is reacting to dogs 🤦🏼♀️

kleigh It's still technically one prick, they just leave the needle in the arm and change out the vials. I've shoved fruit snacks in H's face previously, held my phone so he can watch Peppa, etc. M is entirely different. She kicks, screams bloody murder, cries...it's not delightful. Between me sitting her on my lap, wrapping my legs around hers and holding back her arms it still required someone else to help restrain her. But, it had to get done.

I can't imagine C getting blood drawn these days. He lost his shit over the doctor exam which was barely anything and zero shots. I remember the heel pricks were awful when he was a baby. It seemed like they needed so much but I think it was just super slow.

Ugh kleigh I know the feeling of putting it off. I really need to not do that this time around. I need to get t done before school so I can be positive of what his allergies exactly are. tgrimes I don’t know if I’ll be able to distract B lol. He watches you like a hawk when he’s nervous. Like, literally your every move because he wants to see what’s going on lol.

Is it sad L is used to blood testing? In fact, he went with DH to get Dh's A1C checked (all his male cousins and his brother all have type 1 diabetes so he's checked regularly) and L was on his lap. L put out his own arm thinking he was getting another blood test. I cried in the car. For L's 1st draw it was 3 vials, but for his most recent (outdoor allergies) he only did 1 vial. 6 sounds like a lot.

This conversation reminds me I'm irritated with my H for responding "ow" when A gave him the shot from her dr's play kit. She's been really good with needles/shots in general. Barely cried much even when an infant. Not she knows shots hurt and keeps playing that way (saying ow for me if I don't when she gives me a shot). So help me if she freaks out getting shots from now on...
