How is it going? It's going really well.

Any challenges? Anything getting easier? Any changes? Things have stayed the same. I would like to reduce nighttime feedings. SHe's getting back into the habit of nursing a lot overnight (usually after 4 or so) and i don't think it's great for either of us. We co-sleep after her first wake-up.

Any questions for the other mamas?

How often do you nurse? usually wake-up, after daycare, bedtime, overnight (but this could be like 7 times.... eek). another one or two on days i don't work

How is nighttime going? I guess i've already discussed this!

A sweet moment you've had lately with your LO/ nursing? She grabs at my shirt (no so cute) and i ask if she wants to nurse and she gets the biggest smile and shakes her head and says yeah!

Anything you'd like to change? less nighttime

What is your BF goal? i'd like for her to self-wean but i'd like to ttc at some point and i think that might push her to wean earlier. i'd like to make it until at least two. i'm sort of delaying ttc for this reason and i don't know how to approach it all...

DD is great! DS is a tyrant. We typically nurse upon waking and before bed and they sttn.

DD has gotten better about asking for milk instead of screaming while trying to dive down my shirt, so that's nice!

I'd like to have more 1 on 1 nursing with them but it is so much easier to do tandem that it's what we do.

My goal is to keep it up while it works for us. I'm kind of ready for DS to drop it though. I'm travelling for a week without them in September, so FX he decides he's done.

@welltothewell, are you Oing? Will you need to wean once you're KU?

I hope you end up in my situation where there was nothing to be worried about. Maybe you'll also end up ebfing 2 😜

valiente, i am not Oing. I am on birth control (mini pill) and haven't had a period in two years! The first step is to stop the bc. I plan to do that in the next few weeks. If I don't seem to be Oing/ regular, I will really try my best to nightwean because i've heard that can affect it. I'm ready to ttc but not ready due to the Bfing relationship with DD. I just really don't want for it to be cut short, if that makes sense. i hope i'm worrying over nothing I don't have any health conditions that i'm aware of where i would need to stop bfing when pregnant. the worry is more that she won't want to nurse because no milk supply etc. and her nursing time will be shorter than it would have been if i didn't get pregnant. i guess i'm worrying over nothing at this point but it's stopping me from moving forward with ttc so i need to address it somehow. i would love to tandem nurse if it works out

I am ready for BFing to be over. But don't know how to stop without a big to do.
I still nurse at night. And at wake up and at bed. Plus randomly throughout day if she isn't at daycare.

I just got back from my business trip last night and I did not pump at all. As soon as I saw DD all she did was grab my shirt and say "nuk" the whole car ride home from the airport. I'm going to try to limit to just before bed and upon wake up. She doesn't nurse overnight anymore but during the day (before my trip) she'd frequently ask to nurse. I am going to try harder at distracting her by giving her a snack or cup of milk instead. Cause, yeah, I'm pretty much over it.

The only way I was able to stop the night nursing was to stop the co-sleeping after the first wake up.  It wasn't easy to stop those early 2-4am wake ups though! I tried lots of different things and she finally just stopped. I do leave a sippy cup of water in her crib and I often see her wake up and drink that, then put herself back to sleep. SaveSave

It's still going well for us. We nurse at wake up, before bed, and maybe one or two other times during the day if I'm not working. I'm not in any hurry to give up the morning and night sessions, so we'll koko. During the day I might try to offer some water or a snack first. He seems to mostly ask during the day when he wants comfort (like when we're traveling), and if that's the case I'll usually let him nurse.

Last week I bit the bullet and tried to switch nursing and teeth brushing so that he doesn't nurse (almost) to sleep and it wasn't that successful. When we were on vacation this weekend he fell asleep for the night twice without nursing, but he was super exhausted. I'm hoping we can keep at it, but I'm traveling quite a bit in the next two weeks and H tends to take the path of least resistance so I'm not sure if he'll keep it up.

At the beginning of June, I stopped bringing my electric pump with me when traveling. About three weeks ago when I left for a night, I nursed him before I left in the morning and then didn't pump at night. I didn't wear a bra to sleep in and leaked all over my shirt, and my boobs got so hard. I used the hand pump in the morning for comfort. Last week I nursed before I left in the morning, then didn't pump that night or the next morning. On the way home, I wore a tank with a built in bra and I leaked a little through that. I had to hand pump when I got home (he had already gone to bed). This week I'll miss three bedtimes, so we'll see how long I make it. I really didn't think I was making too much milk anymore, but I guess there's still some.

@kelltothekell, try not to stress too much about it, you just never know how pregnancy will affect you or how she'll react. She may still want to nurse even just for comfort, or you might have plenty of supply during pregnancy. In the end, it might even help with some of the night time wake ups.

I was going to say this pretty much exactly.

@kelltothekell - Dd1 still nursed for 4 months after I got pregnant. Once
I weaned it was no big deal because I was SO ready to be done and she hadn't been getting much milk (if any) for quite while so she was fine. No tears at all.

I probably would have nursed longer if I hadn't been pregnant, but i felt much different about weaning when I actually did it than I thought i would when I imagined it beforehand - if that makes sense. Like when she was about a year old I remember almost tearing up thinking about weaning her, but when we stopped nursing at 18 months it was like YAY I'M DONE. I was terrified she'd never sleep again since I had always nursed her to sleep for naps, but it was another nonissue. I'd just cuddle up to her in bed and she would roll around a little bit and then fall asleep.

And you might feel fine nursing through pregnancy... so I don't think you should worry too much!
