I took Z to urgent care yesterday to make sure his ears were ok and he just has a virus. His fever got up to 102 last night. No fever this morning and he was acting ok so off to daycare he went. Hopefully he does ok. I have a meeting this morning I can't miss.
DH got up in the attic yesterday to add some more insulation and check out the a/c since it still wasn't working well since they came out. Yeah.....there was a huge hole somewhere in the duct work where all of the air was escaping. I keep wondering if the a/c company left it like that on purpose and how long it's been like that. They put the a/c in two years ago and it's never worked that well. DH patched up the hole and it actually worked. I'm so glad he got back up there and he's handy enough to fix things like that.

We're finally making plans for our trip to Cabo in February. I will be taking DS1 and DD by myself and staying in a condo with my parents. The kids heard me talking to my parents about it so now I'm sure they'll be pestering me about when they're going to the beach and flying in an airplane. I already told them not until after Christmas so I hope that shuts them up for a time.
Otherwise, much of the same around here. I am losing a lot of sleep over my job and it's been very motivating to finally update my resume and apply for new jobs. I don't want to leave, but the workload just can't support my position so I'm afraid I either need to quit or I'll be terminated.

L has an ear infection. He hardly slept Saturday night or last night. He had a 103 fever last night so I took him to the pedi this morning. Hoping he feels better soon! This ear infection seems less painful than the last one, but he didn’t have a fever with the last one, so he seems more miserable overall this time.

sasam, I hope the antibiotics kick in quick! Ear infections are so elusive. Symptoms not only vary by kid, but by each infection, too!

Sorry for the sick kiddos.
DD party was a lot of work but a lot of fun. It was super hot so my house was packed with people. The kids didn't care and played outside. We had a bounce house and I set up the pool, water table and the splash pad for them. Some people tolerated the heat. My poor H was on the grill😬 After everyone left it took us 2 hours to clean.
A had her WCC visit today. We did her finger prick, MMR and chicken pox vaccines. The other ones she will get at her 15 month visit. I'll post her stats in the other thread.

Whew, I'm exhausted just reading about the party, cornflakegirl! Sounds like the kids had fun and it was a successful party though.

Nothing too new going on over here. Dd is feeling better and I finally got her to nurse last night. She also drank all of her bottles at daycare so I’m feeling a lot better.
I’m not doing anything major for her birthday but I did buy a little ladybug themed kit. Just gotta find a cake!

DD2 is probably getting something small with our immediate family and my 2 aunts. I'm thinking it will be over labor day weekend. There isn't any other free weekend in August. 😕

L seems to be feeling better and he slept through the night! Hoping his fever doesn’t come back at all today so he can go to daycare tomorrow.
We’re doing a low-key party for L. Basically just family coming to town and doing cheeseburgers (family tradition for all birthdays) and a cake.

It was a rough night. Z was inconsolable for a couple of hours. I woke up with a bad headache headed towards migraine.

Oh, PennyCandy , I wish you could catch a break. Take care of yourself. I'm ok now that I've been up for a couple of hours. Z seemed fine this morning too. No fever and happy. The dentist said he would be getting his molars soon so maybe it's that. I keep thinking it's his ears, but they said he was fine on Sunday.

Well, we had an eventful afternoon. Haley was sitting on the kitchen floor while I fixed lunch and started to gag/ choke. She was breathing OK, but having a hard time swallowing. I had no idea what it was. So I called my husband and we took her to the ER. Turned out that was a plastic piece of one of DD1s rings. H was doing 95 on the way there. She threw it up in the car in the way, but I didn't see it come out. So they did the xray and saw nothing so we were sent home. Then I found the piece when I put her in her carseat. They probably thought that I was nuts!

Oh God klw. That is my worst nightmare with DD's toys laying around. I'm so glad she is okay. I would need a drink or 3 to calm down.

Omg klw. How scary! I'm sorry that happened but glad she's ok. I'm super paranoid with DS's toys around and he's so bad about leaving all of his stuff on the floor.

klw, Scary! Good instincts taking her to the ER. You can't be too careful when it comes to choking. We've had a couple close calls. I had my phone in my hand ready to call 911 while MH helped DS1 who was choking (not gagging) on breakfast. Thankfully further medical assistance wasn't necessary, but I much rather have an EMT there ASAP then "wait and see".

I'm waking up with headaches every morning. It's probably time to go back to the neurologist. Boo. I don't really want to. I get the same lecture every time I go and she doesn't seem to understand that I just can't add any more to my plate.

Also, I'm feeling like I'm never going to get his kid off the bottle/boob. I sent him with one bottle and one sippy to daycare Monday and Tuesday and he's been so cranky in the evenings until I give in and get him a bottle. He was taking the sippy just fine and getting the same amount of milk/formula so it shouldn't have been an issue. I sent him with two bottles today so hopefully I don't have to deal with cranky pants tonight. J was later to come off bottles due to his swallowing issues and at that time his doctors reassured me that it's not a big deal developmentally so I should just let it go. It's just kind of frustrating. I'm ready to be done with this stage....He clearly has his own agenda though.

How are you managing them now? Is it sustainable? Perhaps when you have a child who is not so dependent on you, you can make the time, but that sounds like an overwhelming prospect right now.

She was getting so sleepy and I was wondering if it was because she wasn't getting enough oxygen. A few months ago when I rushed DD to the ER for an anaphylactic reaction, she was the same way. I tried not to scare her so I just kept asking her questions and making her sing so I knew she was still breathing. I think all she wanted to do was close her eyes, but that could have also been the Benadryl.
