We hosted a birthday party for puppy today. It was maybe the cutest thing I've ever seen. We baked a cake, decoarated, j had a card and a present for him, and even set up individual pictures with him afterwards.
I bought a vacuum on Amazon and TBD if we like it. It needs to be monitored a but with the fringed kitchen rug and got trapped a few times. I feel like people set these to run when asleep or at work, but I don't think I'd trust myself to remember to make sure everything is ready for it. Mh is against it and has seen it run for like 2 min
EtA: j organized the whole party, I just helped with the cake. I don't actually plan birthday parties for studded animals in my free time😂. He chose to skip the O's game to prepare even!

E does not like green beans still. She would put them in her mouth then throw them at me.

peachsmama so scary I’m so sorry. I always yell at DH for leaving stuff on the stove. Mine is gas but I once read after a power outage they can spark and turn on.

Omg peachsmama. I’m so sorry. I have a gas stove so I’m unfamiliar. So the knobs can just power the stove on if it’s bumped?! I guess that could be dangerous for kids then too.

I'm so sorry peachsmama but I'm glad you're all okay and there is no major damage. I can't imagine dealing with that in a brand new house with pp hormones racing. Cry all you need to, that's scary stuff.

A sprung into super man mode and took off all my cabinet doors and scrubbed and dried each one and rehung them. The cabinets look like new. The wall is going to need to be patched and repainted. We're going to try a few things on the ceiling before repainting because I'm afraid we'll end up repainting the whole kitchen ceiling. Which DNW. I've cried a whole lot. Mostly at the "what ifs" running through my head. And my carpet is ashy. We've vacuumed a dozen times. I'm going to go tomorrow and get some powder cleaner to sprinkle on and vacuum up.

peachsmama be careful with the vacuum powder. It isn't good if you have pets, it could make them sick.

Because when it gets wet it just spreads and turns everything black.. I want to do the baking soda quite a few times before risking getting it wet. And my white husky- no longer white...

tallb I let the vacuum go during the day when we are out. I figure if it covers half a room and gets stuck it's better than nothing. Mine also has a setting for higher and lower, check if you need it higher for the carpet

tallb it's amazing what my robot vac cleans up. Ours just does upstairs and if the kids' rooms are messy I shut their doors. There's only one spot Buddy tends to get stuck. If you're worried about him sucking up stuff he shouldn't, limit the space he covers by barriers or shutting doors. Usually nothing bad happens with mine--he just gets stuck and stops until I fix him.

There was a piece of pizza on the cutting board and that was all ash floating around the house. And the plastic was bubbling and melting all over.

Wow peachsmama! That is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard, how weird. Glad it wasn't worse and that A jumped into high gear and got some scrubbing done.

Good thing to come out of it, A wants to just tile the backsplash instead of patching/painting the dry wall. Now to spiral on tile choices !
