So I need new clothes for work. The principal said it is "professional dress" but that she has other expectations that I will hear about at orientation. I figured I could pick up a few basic pieces while I am out this weekend. I will be working with preschoolers so being able to move around and get on the floor is necessary. Where do you shop for work clothes?

Loft and Banana outlets, The Limited are my go-tos. I have some dress pants from Express. I need petites, and the outlets have a bigger selection. Old Navy and Gap do not fit me well as far as tops go.
I'm not on the floor as much as you would be, but I wear dresses almost exclusively while it is warm. Our playground has zero shade and I cannot wear pants, especially jeans when it is hot outside. I wear my Rainbow sandals as long as I can because they are hands down the most comfortable to teach in for me. They have a back to them which was important because my last principal said no flip-flops.
Cold weather dress is dress pants and a top from the above mentioned places. Sometimes a cardigan. We are allowed to wear jeans on Fridays, so I do that until it gets too warm.

Same stores as doublestuf, except I can't wear ON and Gap because of my long limbs. I find the sleeve length, in particular, to be more generous from brands like Banana Republic and Loft.

This would be similar to my warm weather dress. I'm always aware of length! I'm short , so that helps! Oh and for closed toe shoes, I wear Clarks. I have bad feet and they ache all the time, even in really good shoes. For me, something with a slight heel and lots of cushion works best. I cannot do flats or even a small heel. As long as they look okay with dress pants, I buy them. Comfort is far more important.
