Have I lost my mind or did they switch the like and quote buttons on tapa? I keep hitting the wrong one. It’s raining here today. I scheduled a haircut for after lunch. I can’t wait to chop my hair. I’m getting it shoulder length. My step mom will watch the girls while I go. Then later today I have to work.

Happy Birthday slenle and wedding!!! I hope you both have a great day! klong11 the door alarms H ordered delivered Sunday, but do you think he has done anything with them yet??? I would probably still want the chair in front of the door while the deck is missing, even with the alarm, but come on...get them installed. Although I feel pretty confident saying it's caused by being way over tired and she wasn't last night since she went to bed at a normal time. |

Madison's room has been a point of contention for a while. She kept trashing it and wouldn't clean it. So I cleaned it (and got rid of 3 garbage bags full of stuff). She freaked out at first, but then calmed down and promised to keep it clean. We've got a new reward/punishment plan to ensure that happens. Nothing really gets to her. You can take so many things away and she doesn't care, but we finally found her currency. For each daily chore she doesn't complete she's going to bed 10 minutes early. She hates to sleep so hopefully that will motivate her.

I'm leaving work early to go to the passport office to submit the girls' apps. The hours here really suck (T-R from 2-4). Hopefully we'll get them back in time to go to CAN next month.

inthekitty , what chores do you have the girls do? I need some ideas for Cadence. I ask her to feed the cats and it's like I'm asking her to rip her toes off one by one. The main focus is on cleaning up after themselves--they're slobs. Putting shoes away, putting their backpacks/stuff from TKD away, cleaning up after they shower, cleaning their rooms, and putting their dirty dishes on the counter. They also have to fold their own clothes and put them away. I try to do a load of laundry every other day so it's only a small amount they need to keep up with. Maddie - feed the dog, sometimes take the dog for a short walk, and vacuum Cass - water the plants, dust The dusting and vacuuming is usually only something they do once a week. They don't do them well and I usually have to follow up after them and do more cleaning, but it's more about them learning to do a task as a member of the household. They actually usually like doing these tasks and it makes them feel important. Whenever they don't do what I ask the first time, instead of asking them again I make them do 10 push-ups or 10 sit-ups. I'm tired of repeating myself and it's an instant recognition for them that they screwed up and I'm not happy. ETA: We're rejuvenating the chore chart for this because it's fallen to the wayside. That's how we'll track if they didn't do something and have to go to bed early. They will be able to earn points for rewards like getting a treat from the ice cream truck, getting slushies from the convenience store, going to a different park, playing in the tunnels at the Y, going to the children's museum, etc. I mostly want to focus on activities or edible treats because they have way too much crap. They also don't appreciate that I normally get them stuff like this all the time and we do a lot of activities together; they just expect it. I'm going to be like a drill sergeant for a while until their behavior changes. |

Hi!
I was supposed to train in a different dept starting today, but when I asked her where to report yesterday, she asked if I could work wed/thurs instead. It didn’t matter to me. I got my workout in after dropping the boys off and will pick M up early today. They went to a field trip to the movies and will be at a park near our house after, so I told him I would get him before they left the park. Just waiting at home catching up on TV now.

Happy birthday wedding!! Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! Started the day with room service breakfast followed by a massage. Not the best massage I’ve had, but I’ll take it. Now just hanging by the pool for the day. It’s cloudy, but still hot so it’s nice to have a break from the sun. H was jumping around on the bed last night and jumped off and landed funny. He cried pretty hard and eventually fell asleep with ice on it. He woke up limping this morning and complaining it still hurts. From where he’s pointing, I’m afraid he could have fractured a bone on top of his foot. He’s not in terrible pain, but enough to have me worried. Not sure if we should take him in somewhere or try and wait it out. |
