Well dinner last night was great. We went to a place we went to in march where J ate nothing. Its a buffet. Last night he ate for 45 minutes. He ate fries, grapes, pineapple, peaches, potato sticks, croutins, goldfish crackers, pepperoni, cheese, and a roll. Who is this kid?
It took us an hour to get him to bed last night. 30 minutes teying the crib, 30 minutes in our bed. He finally fell asleep with us but did sttn which is so much better then the last time we were here when he woke up 4 or 5 times during the night.
Hoping its sunny today so we can swim.

king26 Have a great time today! We got back last night from our trip to my parents. Now the fun of adjusting the kids back to being home and not spoiled by grandparents. This morning has been full of whining and tantrums already so yay for me. (The 4.5 yr old is going to do me in guys, the emotions are allllll over the place.)

Has anyone had to have a pet put to sleep (I hate this phrase)? My cat is not able to walk and is 15. I know the end is near. J is obsessed with him and I am afraid he will find him. This morning the poor cat had fallen behind the litter pan and I have no idea how long he was stuck. He has eaten and will stand up but how long do I let this go on? All my other pets were indoor outdoor cats and wandered off when the time came. This is my first indoor only cat.
To make things worse my husband leaves town Saturday for 2 1/2 weeks so they will likely lose a pet and then daddy goes away...

Oh yellowcat I’m so sorry. No experience over here. I hope none of the kids find him. Good luck with this tough decision.

YES! my almost 5 year old is being such a giant PITA. She was doing great for awhile but now her behavior has been horrid. I'm sorry you are dealing with the same. Hopefully just a phase for both of us.

yellowcat, I'm sorry you are going through that. Yes, I had to put my cat down but it was before kids. You know when the end is near and while its so hard to do, it felt worse to me just letting her suffer. Big Hugs I'm glad you are having a good trip! king26

It's been a busy week in the happy feet household. We spent the earlier part of the week at a waterpark and resort. The kids all did great but we are exhausted having to wrangle 3 kids in a large hotel and indoor and outdoor water park.
Today the twins had their first evaluation - E for language delay and D for both language delay and ASD. We have a 2nd evaluator coming over the weekend but the evaluator is confident they will both qualify for speech therapy and that D will qualify for ABA and OT. It's great that they will be able to get one year of extra help covered by our insurance. D will qualify for 20 hours per week for services, they recommend half of those hours at a center, so coordinating this with 2 really busy work schedules is giving me a bit of anxiety. It's also a lot to take in, even though we've known this was on the horizon for a few months now.

So I had to put him down. He had a seizure and was barely able to walk. I had to bring the baby which actually helped. I have had this cat since my 20s! Last summer our other old boy died this is the first time on my life that I have no pets. J and my oldest who is 3 haven't asked about him yet but I am worried I will just start crying. This is harder than the other one since now both my boys are gone.
Thanks everyone!

happyfeet9 good to see you here!! That’s a lot of scheduling 😬 I hope you guys figure something out that doesn’t add much stress. Glad to hear you guys have a plan for services. It is a lot to take in, even for me, knowing how important early intervention is, was tough to accept N needed speech. we have an eval for developmental therapy at the end of the month now too, based off what our speech therapist has seen. That hit me harder, but I’m trying to just wait and see. Good luck! 🤗

The uncertainty of it has definitely been the hardest part for me - these last few months of wait and see. We're also hopeful that we're recognizing signs and getting services early on. In spite of all the knowledge and rational thoughts, it has still been a lot to process. Feel free to reach out - even just to vent and share concerns. I know you have the knowledge

@happyfeet that is a lot. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this here but I'm a triplet. There were certain points where two of us were behind a different periods because we were just very dependent on one another. We had an older sister who was one year ahead of us and so depending on who we gravitated towards our development was a little off. But by Age 3 we are all on track.

I didn't know that, thanks for sharing Yes, Evangeline is definitely the more dominant twin, we also have DS1 who is 4.5 so not a big age gap all around. They are recommending that half of Donovan's services be at a center so he can benefit from the additional social interaction and to make sure he is developing on his own.

I think we are going to have to get j a speech eval. He is behind verbally ( says the special ed teacher who knows better...i just need to get it scheduled) Can you switch to another service when they turn 3? Like get an IFSP through the school to continue the OT and speech if they qualify? Did they qualify D with ASD? I cant imagine dealing with 3 at a hotel. We just did it with J for 3 days and that was enough lol

The ASD diagnosis would need to come from a neurologist, psychologist, or developmental pediatrician to qualify for additional services - we've scheduled it but it hasn't happened yet.

We can give an educational ASD diagnosis but thats for school and behavioral services within the school, nothing outside unless its a doctors diagnosis.

yellowcat I’m so sorry about your cat. happyfeet9 I totally understand the anxiety and how hectic it is to schedule services for a kid. Having two doing it is a lot, I’m sure. Speech therapy and early intervention was wonderful for my DS.

Anyone else tired 24/7? I swear running after J is more exhausting then teaching 20 elementary school aged kids all day
We have to go to my parents tomorrow so hopefully that goes well. Its a lot of time in a car.
