Fuck. One of my hearing aids is broken. Don't know how it happened. Need to get to Costco to see if it's still under warranty or if I get to shell out $2.5k for a new set.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but shortly after the ACA came out, my dad logged on and plugged in all his info to see if rates were better than what he already had. Anyway, you *have* to enter a phone #, and he started getting frequent calls from insurers who bought those lists trying to sell him health insurance. Even now, years later, he still gets calls. So that may be what happened here, and "Konstantin" entered a fake #. I might answer a few and tell them to remove you from the list. Super, super annoying.

I'm way too nice to those people who go door to door. I'll ignore if possible but I recently had a group who kept coming back to read me parts of the bible. I'd listen politely and go on my way. Finally MH told them not to come back! They'd call me by name and everything.

Both kids schools are closed on the fifth here. MH was scheduled to work, but he said it looks like they will be off now, so as soon as it’s official, I will probably let my mom know we will be coming to visit for a long weekend. As of right now, I’m off this week.

Got in a workout after dropping the kids and I’m catching up on some dvr shows before cleaning the floors later. Eventually I have to go out to get groceries for dinner.

Happy Canada day, vino! We got special Canada day donuts at Tim Hortons over the weekend and I thought of you!

My kids are CRANKY! A slept til 9:30 (!!!!) and had an early on appointment this morning. I typically always get them out of the house to the park, museum, whatever for a few hours in the morning and that didn't happen. I'm so low energy today for some reason and don't feel like doing anything now!

We had to run out b/c my alarm went off reminding me of B's speech appt. Oops. Had completely forgotten.

While there, the youngest child (3 1/2) of the annoying woman I know from MOPS was just...in our space. A lot. Touching my shoes and feet, trying to climb on me/Caroline, crawling under our seats, etc. Not once did mom intervene, correct, etc. At one point I was reading a book to C; the little girl came up and tried to grab the book from my hands. At first, I was like, "no, no honey...why don't you sit with us and I'll read to you both?" But she kept tugging, got more aggressive, and started yelling. Finally I said, "You need to stop. It is not your turn." Mom was completely oblivious the entire time. A dad came in a few minutes later with his kid and she started climbing all over him, too. Mom was like, "Oh, her dad's in the military, too. She must like your uniform." How precious.

I feel bad for her in a way, mom just seemed so disengaged; I honestly don't know that she knows better. Just no boundaries or correction.

I'm lucky. My hearing aid had 36 days left on warranty. Whew. Now about 1.5 weeks of feeling extra off balance between the boot and being unable to hear from 1 ear.

I'm starving and yet am out of food for the day. I walked to CVS at lunch bc I'm not loving my new shampoo. It took some scorery, but I somehow got 3 coupons to get it down from $25 to $13. That will be my main accomplishment for the day..I may try to sneak in a final coat of paint on the shutters tonight since it's only 80 today before the heat wave returns.

Oh and j's teacher is planning/trying for kids and said she'd be up for my maternity clothes...cannot wait to unload them! She's quite hip though, so curious if she'd wear any (I don't even care, she can donate if she wants).

Hey. We went to the zoo this morning and they have added some cool stuff! You can go into the exhibit it with kangaroos, but you can’t touch them. There’s also now an area you can go in to pet/brush sheep and feed lorikeets. It was fun. The girls are napping/having quiet time and I was outside spreading mulch. For some reason my nose started bleeding so I’m on a forced break for a bit. It’s pretty humid again and hot so I don’t mind. The flower bed is looking so much better already with the dirt covered.

tgrimes you handled it better than I would have. I probably would have told them to deal with it and ignored them for the rest of the time and made loud comments about how loud the table next to you was. It’s a family restaurant, you have to deal with kid noises.

Hi hi! Josie started her summer gymnastics class this morning. The new teacher was awesome— so encouraging. The big girls were in the gym training and Josie and her two little friends were in such awe of their moves!
We spent the rest of the day at the pool. The kids still prefer the zero entry of the beach but they’re warming up to it.
