PennyCandy I'm sorry. I can't imagine how stressful that is and the lack of sleep.

Honestly I have been very very lucky in that MH WFH and has been amazing the last 11 months. I've only ever had baby duty all night when he has been OOT or sick. Less than 10 nights all this time.
I know if we had another kid it would have to sleep in my room for quite a while and I would be on nights so that MH could get C up and to school. That is honestly a good enough reason to be OAD for me. I've had enough struggles mentally and emotionally with alllll this help. Financially it isn't a great idea either.
So all of you with 2 or more, hang in there. You are rockstars.

Oh. My. God.... DD picked up a book of knock knock jokes at the library. If I have to say "Who's there" one more time, I might go crazy. 😜😂

I’m sorry PennyCandy I’m not sure I have an answer. Is there a reason you won’t let him cry? I hope you can find an answer. He starts coughing and wheezing after a few minutes. I let him go until that point. It's just not long enough to actually get him to put himself to sleep.

PennyCandy you have had a rough year. Is there any way that you can take some time off? Are you able to take your vacation time together? Or maybe some unpaid personal time if your boss approved it? I know that may not be ideal but perhaps it might help. I have a whole 24 hours of PTO and no FH or other time off to speak of. I'm going to work on getting intermittent FMLA so I can access my sick time, but can't start that until 7/9. I have the 12th and 15th off for Z's birthday and all of his appointments and there's the 4th too. He only woke up once last night and went right back down. It's going to take more than one night for me to feel better, but I'm really hopeful he's back to his normal self after all of this. J is sick now. He had a really hard day at daycare. They said he was inconsolable for much of the day and needed to be held all day. When I picked him up he had 100.2 fever. 30 minutes later it was 101. He's home with DH today. The pedi thought Z made have had a virus on top of the ear infections so I'm betting J got the virus part of all of that.

I wish there was something I could offer to help.

PennyCandy, would you consider cosleeping with him, at least for a couple of weeks until he's better? or move his crib or a pack n play into your room so that at least you could stay in bed? cosleeping is the only way i've survived working through 3 kids' infancies. we have the crib next to our bed on my H's side, so DS3 starts out the night in there and then my H has to wake up and hand him to me to nurse if necessary.

Can your H at least be on J duty to help you out?

Everyone seems to be back to normal. Zach woke up at 3 and 4:42 last night. I couldn't get him back down so he came to bed with me and slept another couple of hours. J's fever broke and he's back to normal too.
It's effing hot. Our a/c isn't keeping up so the house is uncomfortable and our power bill is going to be huge.

Glad things are getting back to normal PennyCandy! Hopefully things will continue to get better. And I feel you about the AC not being able to keep up. Ours runs all the dang time and it is still hot upstairs. L has just 3 more days at his current daycare center! He (finally!) starts at our first choice center a week from tomorrow. I am so excited for him to start at the new place, but I am kind of sad to leave his current center. They've been so great and I know they all really love having him there. But his new place seems to be even better and it is way more convenient, location-wise. I just hope L likes it as much as I do! Hahaha. I'm gonna be so sad if it ends up not being a good fit for some reason.

He will be fine sasam. I had similar feelings when the kids changed in the winter, but Charlie transitioned well and loves it now. Plus, he would probably be changing rooms soon anyways, right?
