Also TBH I thought it would be worse. It seemed almost kind of tame to me.

If they found the right scene, someone would steer them straight. Those who are actually into BDSM have been very vocal about how this is not the way their subculture works.

I know, but I do worry for those who dont find the right one because I know theyre out there. Im already kind of high strung today so Im a little bit on a roller coaster of emotion lol.

Lol. This thread is everything. Like Christmas morning.
I did love the music in the movie. That last song. I forget the name but it’s so depressingly good. And that cover on I put a spell on you in the beginning was great.
But the movie and books were awful, hit the spot though.

I forced myself to read all three. They were awful. And I hate watched the first movie. The only thing good that came out of watching it is tried to find a dupe of the pair of shoes Anna wears. So at least I got some cute shoes out of it.

This was splendid reading, unlike the book. I borrowed the first one and read it out of curiosity and couldn't read any of the others. I haven't seen the movie, but I see it's just as terrible. I know it's based on bad twilight fan fiction, which in and of itself might as well be bad fan fiction, so I don't expect greatness. But damn, it's so very much not safe, sane, or consensual. One of H's former coworkers told him to read the book a few years ago. H did not take the suggestion

This liveblog was so entertaining that I kinda wanna watch the movie while drinking just so I can eviserate it. If the eventual Geek Board Movie Night is all of us watching a shitty movie and mocking it together then I am even more into the idea than I already was. I spent many a college night doing this with friends and it was splendid. Fun story: I took a general lit course in college. The professor teaching each section of the course got to pick their own theme. My professor chose "the evolution of the vampire as a literary element". We read many of the major vampire books, starting with Dracula. We ended with Twilight, because it was the biggest vampire book out at the time. The professor basically spent each class period pointing out all the crappy features of the book. On a PowerPoint slide about Edward's characteristics, every other item on the list was "beautiful" or "sparkly". Afterwards, a group of classmates got together to watch the movie and mock it. Easily one of the highlights of undergrad.

Have you ever seen the Volcano movie with Tommy Lee Jones, where there's a volcano in Los Angeles? I love that movie for all its ridiculousness.

I went to a very non-sciencey-and-mathy college and my science class was Natural Disasters. For extra credit you could watch disaster movies and write up all the inaccurate pieces. It was very fun. Ooh and if there's a movie choice does that mean there's a plan for the movie night? I have not been around much so I am missing things. Lol. There's an idea but no plan. I believe we talked that movie so we could ogle Sebastian Stan

Speaking of weird classes to take in college I have a good one. I went to school for criminal justice. Basically every class is molded around law enforcement or law in general. Even the maths were based on law. Taking two lit courses was required. I love my first professor so much. He was amazing. He was retiring after the next semester so I looked up what classes he was teaching. I found the best class: J.R.R. Tolkien and the roots of middle earth. In a school like mine, this was unheard of. It was an elective and I needed a few so I definitely signed up for it. It was a fabulous class. We watched pieces of the LOTR movies. We went through a good chunk of lore that the stories were based on. I did my final paper comparing the qualities of the character in LOTR to those of Star Wars.
That class was only ever taught that semester. Never before and never again. I was so glad to be a part of it. He actually took a photo of us at the end because it was his dream to teach a class about Tolkien. The school let him because it was his last semester.

Lol. I was young and enjoyed them as a guilty pleasure. I thought you were supposed to hate them and think they deserved each other. Like there was a hint because she lived Wuthering Heights so much. Later I realized it was not that deep
