Also hi from home. DH and I have our monthly therapy appointment tonight so I'm working here and I've spent most of the day on calls. I also changed both boys' sheets (I didn't get either done this weekend) and did a small load of their laundry, so I'm somewhat successfully multi-tasking. In other news, we have a 40th birthday party for one of DH's friends on Friday evening in the city, so we'll get the evening away. I'm looking forward to it seeing as we haven't had date night since early April. I also have Father's Day plans almost nailed down with my SILs and I ordered a new light colored pair of skinny jeans, since mine once again have started developing holes in the knees. Pretty exciting day around here. haha.
Anyhow today was that meeting that was initially supposed to require me to fly to San Fran. Good thing we sorted that out because the meeting ran about 90 minutes. I would have lost my mind if I'd flown across country for a 90 minute meeting. I feel bad for the couple of guys that DID fly, though they at least only came from Chicago and Calgary. Still, no thanks.

Totally judging a mom at the childrens museum. Shes sitting on the bench, shoes off, legs on the bench too. Totally stretched out and relaxed. Meanwhile me and other parents are sitting on the floor.. I totally get sitting on the side while you keep an eye on your kids playing (because that’s definitely what I would do) but big nope to taking your shoes off and laying down.

MH and I are really working on the girls folding and putting away their own clothes. We're getting there but it's slow. But I don't know how I'd keep up on the relentless piles otherwise.
Yesterday I took Cass swimming. We used to swim every Monday, but she's had a nasty kid skin condition for months and we had to give it a break. It finally cleared up. She did awesome. She went for divers and did really well. She also taught herself to done somersaults underwater and was pretty impressed with herself.

thanks y'all.
I don't do change well.
We are going to confirm a start date in the next few days and then I am going to give my notice. I'd like to think he'll let me hire and train a replacement but there's a 50/50 chance he is too pissed and tells me to leave. I hate that I am closing the door on the only job I've ever known.
But it is what it is.

Congratulations!!!! jewels I know it is scary AF, but I’m sure the choice will be right for you. Change is hard, but can be good. Big hugs! ETA: I was wondering where your head was after last week’s thread, but didn’t want to pry. I know these decisions are very hard and take time. Based on what you have told us, I think your boss will do what he has to make the change worth it for you and keep you happy.

I picked M up and she was pathetic. She hasn’t eaten all day. I’ve offered her a million things but she just wants to lounge on the couch.

Hello, all.
It's been a whirlwind at work, we've had a long term employee of 37 years retire today. We had her lunch, gave her the gifts and she came back to the office and sent an email to everyone that she was leaving. We've been lying to everyone for weeks that she was just on vacation, which isnt exactly a lie since she had 10 weeks to burn up, she put up her feet and lit her cigarette, had a couple puffs, put it out and off she went. It was the perfect exit!
I'd be lying if I didnt check my pension date as soon as she left, come on 2038.

Just got notice there will be a retirement brunch tomorrow for someone who used to work in our department. He left years ago to another state and it somehow evaded my attention that he had returned back to this location but in a different department. I'll always fondly remember him as the married older man who sent me two creepy emails when I was pregnant with Cass about how he finds pregnant women really attractive. Perhaps instead of mini quiches or some kind of torte I could just strap on a fake pregnant belly because that's what he'd really appreciate.

Boss M1’s mom is not doing so well. I’m now taking over his work so he can be with her. I think M2 is just glad I’m willing to step up because he doesn’t want to deal with it.

I found J playing in the bathroom sink. The drawers were flooded, water standing under the cabinet, floors saturated, water coming from under the toilet as I soaked it up, I'm just. Speechless.
This child is going to break me. There was so much water I went downstairs to check if it was leaking into the basement.

Oh man peachsmama, I hope everything dries out OK. Does the sink not have an overflow opening?

This day. I got my oil changed Thursday. Sunday on our way home I kept smelling gas inside the car. We had filled up so I assumed it was on either mine or A's shoes. Yesterday I wore the same shoes and smelled it again. Again, figured it was my shoes. Today its stronger than ever. Like spilled a gallon on myself strong and I'm not wearing those shoes. A checked under the hood tonight when he got home- they never put the cap back on my oil.... the whole engine bay is covered in oil and its coming in through the vents.
