Well we leave in a couple hours so no time to get a mattress lol, but thanks for the link doublestufOrder it sometime when you get back. You'll use the PNP for a good 1-1.5 more years for trips like this. And the older they get, the less likely they'll sleep well on the regular PNP mattress, especially at night.

goldenbird, that's where my swimsuits live too, but it's one of the first things I pack, always. You never know when there might be a hot tub!

Active shooter training at work today.....it's intense. It is horrible that this has to be a thing. 😭 The training was very well done, but there were a lot of tears from everyone in the room. It was hard. All I could think about were my kids.

I woke up with sore ankles and sore shoulder. I don't even know why they hurt.

kam3100, is she able to explain why they decided to kick the other student? I think at such a young age, it’s usually not as malicious as we might initially think. A book sounds like a good place to start as well as discussing what characters are feeling in other books just to help her develop that awareness and empathy. She said because her friend told her to do it. Of course I said ‘if your friend told you to jump off a bridge, would you?’ Her response: ‘they don’t have any bridges at school mommy’ I think buying the book is my best bet 🤦🏻♀️ I’m not an expert but in my experience as a teacher, she sounds like any other kid her age. I try to have conversations with my 5yr old to help him realize the impact of his actions on others with varying levels of success but I try to remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. And I agree with doublestuf, it doesn’t sound like bullying. That word gets overused today, unfortunately.

After we got back from Spain in May (a 10 hour flight), I decided that was the last long flight for awhile. It’s so hard when they want to move. We have another flight coming up before the 4th but that one is only about 2 hours. My plan is puffs, paper for her to crush, and hope for a nap. She still nurses so that’s my go to when she gets fussy. 10 hours! You deserve a medal. I have been googling ideas for the plane and a few people recommended a stack of post-it notes for her to pull off one at a time. That seems genius to me so I'm going to try it when we fly over the 4th. Ooh, I love that idea. I will definitely be trying that.

I’m a state employee and yesterday one of the news agencies posted all state/city/county employee salaries. You can type in a persons name and see where they work and how much they make. Needless to say, there is tension in the office.

Needless to say, there is tension in the office. Obviously they made it more readily accessible, but weren't the salaries public information before yesterday? I guess I'm surprised that this is new information for some employees.

The story was written to say that they wanted to show taxpayers where the majority of their money goes and so that employees can make sure they are being paid fairly.

Usually when these type of stories are posted you can only look up the heads of agencies, the rest are just titles posted with salaries. Now you can type in a name and it shows you everything. Salary is probably something that shouldn’t be hidden in order to ensure equal pay. Either way, there is a little bit of tension.

California's state salaries are public - I can look up anyone who is a teacher, university employee, etc. Their pay is generally shockingly low.

L woke up at 4 am and just would not go back to sleep. I am assuming he's teething, but other than that I could not figure out what was wrong. He went down easily at his normal bedtime. He woke up crying a bit, but not like an in pain cry when he had his ear infection or when he's gassy. It was just a whiny, sleepy cry. I laid next to his crib for a while and patted his back and that helped him doze off for a bit, but then he was up for the day at 615. H got up with him so I was able to go back to sleep. Hopefully it was just a fluke. He had a couple weeks where he'd get up like that recently but he was definitely teething then. I guess he might have another bottom tooth coming in. Kid already has 6 teeth!

I guess L needed to catch up on sleep since he took a 3 hour nap! I actually ended up getting him up so he wouldn’t sleep the day away. He was cranky when he first got up, but he seems content now! I can’t believe he napped that long! He is usually 30-40 minutes max for naps.

H changed Haley at 9. Then she didn't pee again until 4:30ish (and has had 3 more wet diapers since then). I was getting worried.

It took her a while to fall back asleep, but then slept until 9. Then napped from 12-3. No second nap because we were out to dinner and running errands.

My house is a disaster area. Between DD being here all day since school let out and me bringing my stuff home from work, there is stuff everywhere! I stayed up after feeding Haley so I could try to get some things out away. But I start one area, then when I go to put something away, I start something else. 🙄😳

sasam I think the same thing is going on here. Charlie was up a ton last night. He has been drooling and biting more too but we can't feel anything. He will be given meds before bed tonight. Teething is such a pain and it goes on foreeeevvver. Did he sleep better last night?

Hi all! It's been a busy few weeks here so I haven't been around much. We just got back from a week up with MIL up in Michigan that was nice. I forgot how green the rest of the country is compared to Arizona ha. The flight wasn't too bad going there, both kids slept the whole time courtesy of us being up at 2:30 am to catch a 6 am flight. Coming back was another story. DD1 watched movies most of the time, then began trying to crawl underneath the chairs and tried to kick the seat in front of us repeatedly, and R just flailed like a dying fish the whole time. Then we hit turbulence, which DD1 thought was hilarious (she kept throwing her hands in the air and yelling weeee lol) and R screamed at every dip and bump. I'm hoping our next flight to Japan next year goes better. Although that's a 12 hour flight. Help. Lol.

Although in other news, I think all the last month's fussiness was because of a leap. I was worrying a bit because R will be 1 in less than 3 weeks, but hasn't sat up on her own or pulled to stand or anything besides sit in one spot and wiggle like a turtle on her back, but last week she pushed herself up to sit. And then 3 days later pulled to stand. And crawled for the first time today. I guess she was just biding her time.

We did Tylenol before bed last night so that definitely helped.

I REALLY don't want to go to H's aunt and uncles house today. They have so much crap around that I will be constantly taking things from Haley. And they are so slow to put out the food and clean up. I try to help even though they insist that they don't need it

I try to help even though they insist that they don't need it WORST. Ugh-they're probably the olds that think the baby needs to be the flexible one. I would offer to clean up ASAP, remove my family's dishes, and if no one got moving to continue cleaning up, peace out.

It was a shock the day we came back from MI, where it was 68 to 112 here lol. So we've been hiding inside along with indoor playplaces and splash pads.
