I've been watching Netflix as my self care. Kind of silly, I know. But it makes folding clothes and doing the dishes more enjoyable when I can watch a show on my phone.
My favorite comfort food is french fries. My favorite healthy meal is a mediterranean quinoa with chickpeas, bell peppers, parsley, & a vinaigrette.

I've been doing really well with exercise. I go to the gym 3-4 days a week and do a solid workout while I'm there. I need to keep going with that momentum because I feel really good.
I've also been trying to clear some more clutter out of the house. I'm not doing a big Kon Mari again. Just every few days I'm finding something that we don't use or don't need and putting it in the donate bag or the "sell bin" in the basement. No categories, could be a toy I noticed that the boys haven't played with in ages, random Booster Juice cups in the back of the cupboard, a clothing item, whatever. Organizing is a huge stress reliever for me.
Comfort food is either poutine or crackers/chips with dips (variety).
Healthy meal I really enjoy these simple black bean quesadillas I sometimes make for lunch. Also love a good stir fry with the veggies just lightly cooked so they still have that crispness to them.

I’m really glad to see this thread. I’m back again. But this time for good.
A few things lit a fire up my butt this past month: dress shopping for my SIL’s wedding, seeing pictures of myself in that dress, the way I felt in that dress, and stepping on the scale today. So I’m finally putting myself first and getting back to a place where I’m happy. My H is on board also so I’m hoping we can motivate each other.
I started doing a BBM workout last month and will pick it back up this week. I also need to find a new Netflix show to watch as that helps me on the treadmill and the bike. I’m hoping to workout 4-5 times a week and clean up my eating and cut back on the booze.
My favorite healthy meal- I LOVE salmon. So anything with salmon and some veggies and I’m really into mashed cauliflower right now.
My favorite comfort meal- I love pasta and meatballs (my mom’s homemade), a nice thick chili with all the fixings, or like chili cheese fries or poutine.

I need to clean up my eating as well waitwhat. I do Ok but I am a terrible snacker. It's a hard habit to break. + waitwhat I’m a big snacker. And I prefer to graze all day than to eat big meals, plus always short on time so I am at the point of trying to be healthy but also wanting to be realistic and reasonable so when I do “messup” it’s easy to just keep going back on track... like, eating outside of my perfectly healthy and lean meals is just gonna happen.. so I try to give myself options so that things like McD fries can be avoided. So thought I would share some of things I snack on that are just sinful enough to make me feel like I’m cheating but still nutritious:: • Rx bars • Sriracha almonds (ok these are a little dirty but they’re so good) • Sweet potato chips from Food Should Taste Good • Fage w honey and berries • Mozz Cheese stick • Oatmeal w raisins and honey • Tomato/cucumber/avocado “salad” • Starbucks sous vide egg whites • That’s It bars • Frozen OJ pops • Dr Praegers sweet potato littles • Cascadian Farms root veggie hash browns • Apple chips • Quinoa chips and TJ’s corn salsa • TJs melodious blend as a frozen lunch • Evol egg sandwich (frozen) As an aside, we tried Beyond Meat burgers last night. OMG no. I didn’t like the “smell” and they stay red, the outside “browns” but the inside stays red and for someone who has a hard time with anything besides well done... i just couldn’t stomach it. And I actually like veggie and meatless burgers so it wasn’t that per se.

What are you doing this month? Not just exercise, any self care. It's mid month but yesterday I was helping with a lifeguard recertification. Last year, when I took the class, I was so nervous about testing because there's this new test where you have jump in, rescue, pull out victim, put on gloves, assess, and give 2 rescue breaths in 90 seconds!?! I passed, barely but I'm going to start training for this test that I have to take next April. Self care: I've got the pattern for L's baby blanket so I've been knitting!
Any goals? Get my sugar intake under control! I need to give up sugar I think for the rest of the month. I will give up diet Coke because that is my gateway I think. Also to finish L's blanket so I can justify a new project! LOL
Successes you've had so far? I have been knitting daily! None for the lifeguard training.
What is your favorite healthy meal? Avocado Toast with an egg
What is your favorite comfort food? Sweet things. Chocolate frosted donuts, chocolate chip cookies.

I got the biggest compliment from DS tonight. He was flexing "look at my muscles" (kid is like a string bean). So I gavea little squeeze and then I flexed and said look at mine. He let out this long "woooowwwwww you got bumps! How can I get my buff like that?"

So my pastor at church did a sermon (which I won’t go into) and she said that she has to go for a walk at least once every 3 days. She gets cabin fever! She’s not athletic (her words) but very slim.
The point in that is, I’ve never felt that.. “my body needs to move!” sensations. Does anyone else? How does one get there? I’m envious of those people who “need to move!” My body mostly needs to nap! Lol

Cheshie6 so for me, it's not like and urge to move.. more that the longer I'm doing nothing, I start too feel changes in my body and mood. And because I've made physical activity a regular thing, I've started to recognize those changes. So when I start feeling it I can be like "wow I really need to move".

We're coming up on the end of the month, how's everyone doing?
I'm pleased with my month. I've done well with the gym, and joined an accountability group. There's no money or anything involved, just checking in and giving support. Cleaning/decluttering has been going good too. I've been doing just a small bit of extra cleaning each day, rather than letting stuff build up to the point of needing to gut my house again, and it's helping a lot. It only ends up being an additional 20 minutes or so (which is nothing really) and it's making my space feel so much nicer and easier to keep up on. I can't wait to have a weekend off in a few weeks so I can yard sale.
