The children are grumpy. I'm suppose to have our first play date with the across the street neighbor. I'm nervous.

I'm on the mobile site and it's cramping my style. Boo to tapa being down.
After my 1:30am diaper change fun, I couldn't shut my brain back off until after 2:30, so that was lovely. At least B no more wake ups after that.

Lakes, I hate those kind of zits and I get them all the time so I feel your pain. ellabee, I you deserve all the coffee! We got an early start for some reason today and now the baby is acting like she wants a nap maybe sleep in a little more. We are waiting around for a guy to come measure some of our windows for screens since I guess they forgot some of them when building the house. New construction the gift that keeps on giving.

I try to remember that new construction has it's drawbacks too when something in my 1901 and 1946 built houses invariably breaks or has a problem. My favorite parts about owning old houses include: pulling out horsehair plaster and paying a buttload to replace nob and tube wiring. *sarcasm font* lol

Morning ladies Lakes good luck with the playdate. I'm sure they are just as nervous. ellabee ugh why, my little monsterrrrr... I mean angel, also did not sleep. neekoneeko see it's stuff like that that makes me glad we rent, maybe one day we will own but for now I like having someone else who has to deal with things like that. Q didn't sleep very well but having my H go to him worked, no eating till morning so that gives me some hope.

Hi, ellabee I agree this mobile stuff is tough, I miss tapa! It's the last day at the "vacation house" because they are putting in our new air conditioner today. I'm ready to get back to normal life and get my kids back into a normal routine and in their own beds. I need to start R on solids but didn't want to do it with all the crazy stuff going on so I'll be starting that this weekend probably. Happy Wednesday everyone!

Boo to all the crappy sleep ladies! N was the same. We had storms overnight, and of course the dog had to pee in the downpour, so she came back up to our room and made a huge racket until she was dry. DD was in our room and N was up several times too, so it was a long night. For some reason I'm extra motivated today to find blackout curtains so we can move N to his room! Good luck with the playdate Lakes!

It made house hunting very stressful. Thanks hgtv!

Add me to the "I miss tapatalk club"! neekoneeko our house was a to the studs renovation and we bought it from the builder who renovated it. We also had no screens. We only ended up getting them in a couple rooms because I don't like how they look and we only open the windows in the family room & kitchen. But it was one of those weird things that I didn't notice until we had lived there for a few months. Annoying to take care of!

We just got new windows for our whole house and did spray foam insulation. It's incredibly amazing how much snugger the house feels. The ambient noise reduction is pretty noticeable and I'm loving the fact that we have working screens in all our windows!

Oooo tell me more about the spray foam ellabee. Our addition is not well insulated and we'd like to do something eventually. The new windows made a difference in the main house but not the addition. Do they just squeeze it in there or do you have to re-do all the dry wall etc?

I'm not actually sure what the method is for existing walls, though I'm sure they must be able to do something with small holes rather than replacing all the existing drywall.
We are re-siding our house, so they did everything for us from the outside. They took off some sheathing panels and sprayed it in that way before replacing them and taping the Tyvek back up.

Our house was "finished" in April and they still need to come back and do a lot of things. I don't know if that's normal but it's been very frustrating. In the end it's a beautiful home but I guess I thought it would be more polished or something.

We moved into a new construction home in Fall 2015 and everything was done. They came back throughout the year for little tweaks on things but otherwise it was completely finished before we moved in.

summergirl1211, there's a couple of big things left, the exterior paint isn't finished and we have a window in our upstairs bathroom that wasn't installed correctly so it doesn't close. I think there's something up with our builder that we were unaware of unfortunately. They even refused to do a walk through after it was done but our neighbors got one. We researched them before we made the offer on the house so I don't know what happened.

Ahhhhh the neighbor will be arriving anytime now. I brought out all the yard toys. Am I trying to hard? Eeeeeekkkkk I should have made mh mow last night as a back up. Original plan was the playground but her dd wasn't into yesterday, she's still a bit young.

Do you have a 1 year warranty with the builder for them to come back and fix any remaining issues? I hope they come back and fix the things that aren't done yet. Do you have pictures of what hasn't been completed?

I didn't think to take pictures, what a great idea!

I think it went well! She was here for about an hour and forty-five minutes so I guess I didn't scare her away right off the bat. We have tentative plans to see each other at circle time on Wednesday. I have tickets to both our zoo and arboretum. Is it too early to suggest a big outing? We talked about various places to bring the kids like the zoo, museums, etc.
Gotta play it cool Lakes.
Oh! And she's three months pregnant, woo for another January baby!

Make sure you clearly state that things were not completed when you moved in and save anything where they acknowledge that. I'm not saying this will happen, but you want to protect yourself in case something happens with the window and you have damage (like water leaking) or they say you broke things. It's just better to be safe than sorry! Good luck. I hope you don't have to worry about anything.

I celebrated by having an ice cream sandwich. Which is cancelled out by the walk I just took the dog on right? Tell me that's how these things work?
