Age: He's four! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Milestones: Breaking his momma's heart by growing up? Does that count? Nothing else really this past week. Challenges: He's been extra whiny recently. I'm not sure if he's getting sick, his allergies are getting him down, or if he's just still super tired from traveling last week. Funny/cute stories: Tonight, he was so tired that he asked me wrap him and his stuffed animal up and rock him. Of course, I said yes, but then I was kind of stuck under the heavy child for a little bit after he zonked out. How are you? I'm fine, other than the broken heart thing. QOTW: Plain vanilla with a little chocolate syrup.

Age: 20 months
Milestones: Several new words this past week. She has started washing her own hair.
Challenges: She got soap in her eyes, nose, and mouth tonight. That was not fun.
Funny/cute stories: After my husband and I got her eyes all flushed out and got her to drink some water and blow her nose, she sat down with the most pathetic look on her face and said "uh oh" before bursting into tears all over again.

Age: 2.5 years
Milestones: Speech has taken off, amazes me.
Challenges: Still can't jump and really wants to. Went to an orthopedic and he said nothing structurally points to why he can't. He is flat-footed, flexible ankles and pigeon toed. Said to give him time, he is very tall.
Funny/cute stories: Last night at dinner, he was eating yogurt then made a mess, saying,"around and around and around it goes." I grabbed towels to clean up and he said,"Mommy! My racetrack! You kidding me!" Such imagination.
How are you? Good.
Anything else? Looking forward to a vacation in a few weeks followed by potty training...
QOTW: Best ice cream flavor: vanilla with sliced banana and caramel syrup.

Admin I hear you on the growing up thing. And I will say my allergies have been on high alert as of late, so it's possible! I love those cuddle moments. Even when I have a zillion and one things to do, I think to myself,"One day I'll miss this..." Also, poor Little Miss!

FFS! Until eliz77 tagged me just now, I didn't realize I used the admin account instead of my personal one. I should not be left in charge.

Age: 2.5
Milestones: Nothing new this week except a lot more talking
Challenges: He's going through an ear-bleeding screaming phase that may be the death of my sanity.
Funny/cute stories: DS1 spent a long weekend with my parents. DS2 was so pissed about the whole thing, and he focused it all on my dad. One night we were talking on the phone to DS1, and DS2 asked to talk to Grandpa. When my dad got on the phone, he started yelling "give me brother back!!" at him. The next day when I told him I was bringing DS1 home, he ran around the house and hugged everyone and everything, including the dog and DS1's stuffed animals.
How are you? Tired. I have an appointment today to talk with my PCM about the crazy heavy periods I've been having. Hopefully we can come up with a solution that doesn't take TTC permanently off the table because I'm not ready for that.
Anything else? Nope, we're pretty boring this week!
QOTW: Best ice cream flavor? Chocolate.

Age: 4
Milestones: Oh, you know, just being a grown kid! It's killing me. We bought some summer workbooks to keep up with letters and numbers, and this kid has basically finished them already. She's also getting really good at more complex puzzles. I'm a big puzzle nerd, so this excites me LOL
Challenges: DC drop-off has been tough this week. She's cried almost every day. It never used to be like this. I've heard there's a bit of separation anxiety as kindergarten gets closer. Maybe that's what we're dealing with? She goes to pre-K in a few weeks. IDK... it makes me sad.
Funny/cute stories: We had breakfast for dinner last night and I made cinnamon rolls. J was pumped and wanted to put the frosting on. I said sure. Well, this chick grabbed the frosting and just kept smelling it saying, "Mmmmm, Mommy, it smells like butta!" with this little NY accent LOL She looooves butter. It's basically a food category for her LOL
How are you? Meh. I'm okay. Surviving.
Anything else? I'm still on London time at work and EST at home. It's killing me, and not helping my sleep schedule.
QOTW: OMG I love ice cream! Butter pecan is my jam, but I love it all.

hawkward - I hope your appointment goes well today. I'll be thinking about you. I have such a wonderful PCM. The appointment went really well. I'm going to have to do some follow-up stuff (I posted about it in All AL), but I left feeling confident that we'll find a solution.

Age: 4
Milestones: getting much better at sitting for long periods and playing.
Challenges: SPD and anger lately. We had a crazy June and he has had so much pent up frustration.
Funny/cute stories: he was walking slowly in a store the other day and I jokingly told him to keep up or he'd get left. He said so sweetly "you wouldn't leave me, I'm your doll baby".
How are you? Exhausted but hopefully.
Anything else? Nope
QOTW:Best ice cream flavor? Depends on the day, sometimes mint chocolate chip and sometimes cookie dough.

Age: 2
Milestones: definitely stringing together 2 & 3 word sentences.
Challenges: after a barium swallow study we found out that He is aspirating fluids and not chewing right. We got a referral for an evaluation for oral motor therapy. He had the evaluation on Wednesday and it was a full evaluation. I came away sad and worried. He can't use his tongue correctly, he over compensates with his lips, he has a little skin attaching his cheeks to his gums and so his cheeks are tight and not being used well, food get caught in them. He has very little gag reflex so food gets too far down his throats before he realizes it's too much. He has low muscle tone in his hands and I believe something called hyper motility. He doesn't get dizzy as soon as other children and based off of my responses to the sensory profile they said he is sensory seeking. So another child with SPD. I wasn't expecting it at all. I had no idea. His is so completely different than my oldest, I was filling in the sensory profile thinking that my answers would reflect a perfectly neuro-typical child. I was so shocked.
Funny/cute stories: this morning I made him some oatmeal and he said (in toddler talk) "tastes good mama". I melted.
How are you? Overwhelmed
Anything else? We should get a call in soon to go over their (the OT's) official findings and get appointments and goals set.
QOTW: Best ice cream flavor? Maybe half baked?
