Starting off with a vent. Our friend found us a new bumper for my car. He's currently out with DH taking the broken bumper off. And discovered the radiator is all bent up as well as part of the frame. Fuck. Fuck. Idonno what this means in terms of cost, but it's not looking good.

Oh no danib, I'm so sorry. I hope it's not as bad as all that. Cars toast. Looking at a new (2nd hand) vehicle. And I dropped my phone and smashed the screen. So getting a new phone as well. With allthe money we don't have...

O spent the night at the grandparents last night. Now back at our house he is being a terror. Either A) I forgot in that short amount of time B) he truly is being terrible. The talking back had already began. He will also scream, “don’t touch me!” which is super fun in the middle of the grocery store. Happy Memorial Day!

I’m sorry danibLol cookswithwine I had the similar happen to me this weekend. My dad and my mom watched the boys separately and said they were angels. We came home yesterday and they turned into little devils as soon as my mom walked out the door basically.

Hiiiiii. It was a super busy weekend. We had the rehearsal dinner for my SIL’s wedding Saturday and then the wedding was Sunday. And yesterday was absolutely gorgeous so we spent most of the day outside.
The wedding was a lot of fun. I drank wayyy tooo much but pretty much everyone did. The rehearsal was a bit dramatic (between my MIL and SIL). They’ve been butting heads for the last 8 months so it was really no surprise. But it got sort of awkward and there were tears. Luckily it was at the end of the night so people just ended up leaving before things could escalate.
Today I have a meeting at the school district for B’s speech. We will be discussing his progress and the plan going forward. We are taking the summer off from speech and picking it back up in the fall with the sessions during preschool. We are on track for this to be his last year of speech and entering K as a typical child! That was the goal so I’m excited if it works out that way. I’m also on the fence about an OT eval. Mostly because he still has trouble using scissors (but he’s a lefty and even though I am I cut with my right so it’s awkward) and he really hates using utensils. So I may get an eval just to see where he’s at.

Ugh back to work after a long weekend and apparently it was a shit show. I'm glad I missed most of it but now I get to deal with it. I've got about 100 things to do right now.
It was a pretty good weekend. We celebrated my mom's birthday on Saturday then went to see Aladdin Sunday. Yesterday we had nothing going on so H made ribs. It's weird to spend a holiday alone but no one planned anything so whatever.

Back to reality, at the offfice today.... my H is getting sworn in as a reserve officer tomorrow. So I’m going to wfh and go to his ceremony. He doesn’t have to really do anything it just keeps his law enforcement certificate active. Honestly, I would rather it expire bc I hope he never goes back into law enforcement as a career but I’m trying to be supportive. On another note, my mom and I sewed D’s curtains yesterday. I just need to attach the grommets. I’ve never made grommet curtains before so I hope they turn out alright.

Oh my! We had a blast at the ballgame yesterday! 2 of the 3 grandkids even napped (the 12 yo and L) The almost 2 year old year old couldn’t sleep with so much going on. My. ILs did have it catered so everyone got to eat, drink and be merry! The ball park did have food L could eat so I didn’t have to run to Whole Foods for him. But what was catered wasn’t okay for him. I will say as an allergy mom, I didn’t see one peanut in that whole place! That’s not L’s allergy but it was good to not see. It may have been where we were but we saw cotton candy, and other candy being sold, lemonade, etc. Beer guys walking around and the chocolate cover strawberries people about but no peanuts. I will say, of the two littles, you could tell who is around the ILs the most. L would give fist bumps and high fives but the almost 2 year old had a nickname for everyone, wanted to be picked up by everyone, etc. SIL1 and her son (12) watch him every weekend, SIL2 live with MIL and FIL (but they are moving in with SIL2’s FIL in 2 weeks because they couldn’t find a place of their own before the deadline), and BIL is at the ILs home weekly. I don’t think L noticed, and he had fun. He wasn’t treated worse, better, or different so I am pleased.

I finished an appeal to my insurance company for M's lab work that they denied. Let's just say that got way more information on fecal calprotectin testing than they probably wanted to ever know. I haven't had to do that much research & citing since college.

Hiiiii.
Work is pissing me off. Not my work, other people we depend on.
So typically, when an organization issues a request for proposal/RFP they have a Q&A period so that any discrepancies or anything that is unclear can be straightened out before you write- this makes your approach and budget more accurate. Well one of the federal contract vehicles we use is just completely unresponsive. Usually they give a week between the release of answers to contractor's questions and when the bid is due.
I have a bid due this Thursday and haven't gotten Q&A back and the guy is completely ignoring calls and emails. Other contractors are having the same experience with him. The RFP was terribly written, unclear, and vague in the worst possible ways. We had some really critical questions. Buuuuut in the meantime I can't not write and miss out on the opportunity, so I've written 33 pages on public health promotions and communications strategy, research and background that I can only *hope* is right.
Best case scenario is that he gets off his ass and releases Q&A and pushes back the deadline. Otherwise all the contractors submit a proposal and all the losers inevitably protest the results (aka a big shit storm) because we didn't have all the information before submitting, thus making the process unfair. Hooray.

starbuck I hate it when people do that. We're working on 2 RFPs currently and their proposed time frame reporting is ridiculous and won't produce accurate results. No one wants to discuss it though.

I WANT FOOOOOOOOOOOOD This is what happens when I decide to be good and not swing by CFA on my way in. I am sneakily eating a blueberry muffin at the library! As a bibliophile, I am nowhere near the books and there is nary a crumb in sight! So DH went to the doctor. He too, thinks DH is having panic attacks at work because all his labs came back great. DH doesn’t want to go to a psychiatrist but he took a number of it starts affecting his work. ETA: I guess someone convinced him because now he’s waiting to set an appointment with their therapist!?!

Took H to the ENT. The hole in his left ear has already closed up and there’s lots of fluid behind the eardrum. The right ear has a tiny hole, lots of dried blood, but it looks fine. He suctioned out his nose and gave us a prescription for augmentin.
The lab couldn’t do the testing on his tube because they said it wasn’t in a proper container. 🙄

Now I’m home and prepping dinner for this evening. I’m on the last episode of The Crown and then I’ll start Call the Midwife.
I have another hour to kill before I get my wisdom teeth pulled.

They put in a froyo machine at work. This is going to be dangerous. There's been so many times my heartburn has been so bad that I wished there was ice cream here.
