I know it's a little early, but the hospital bag is the one thing that's been giving me major anxiety lately. Probably because I wasn't fully prepared when I had DS, so I want to make sure I am this time. I'm also delivering at a different hospital and won't know until after our tour tomorrow what is provided.
So, what are your hospital bag must haves?

I am the worst because I am sooooo minimalist, lol! I loved having my Boppy. I bring my phone charger and tablet/laptop for watching movies or Netflix. Car seat. I usually only bring 1 outfit for coming home. A blanket or two for baby. Chapstick. That's really about it 😂

I was just thinking about this so I’m glad you started this.
For me: - Comfy nightclothes; at least 3 soft pants or shorts, at least 3 tops easy to nurse in and a short robe. - outfit to go home in (something comfy) - 2 nursing bras - phone charger - nook and nook charger - make-up - moisturizer -lotion - make up removing wipes - toothbrush and paste - deodorant - hair brush and dryer
For baby: - couple of onesies or outfits - socks, hat - going home outfit -diapers? Will I need this? Not sure but I’ll bring a few
For DS- - small gift - maybe some coloring book if he is staying to visit awhile

I'm in denial about packing one since we're planning a home birth but I need to do it. All caps for things I would probably make someone bring me if I were without it at the hospital. Me: - phone & charger - ROBE - NURSING BRA (I also wear one there) - labour/birth OUTFIT (TBD) - nursing dress (go home) - UNDERWEAR & PADS (hospital will likely give some but I like to bring old undies & reusuable pads in case they have uncomfortable options) - bathroom bag: toothbrush, toothpaste, MOUTHWASH (I threw up last time, so yeah) comb, hair elastic, mini shampoo & body wash, moisturizer, lip balm, nail file - POWERADE/electrolyte drink (again, if you throw up a lot, this really helps hydration without IV) - things I didn't really use last time but like to have for labour: heating pad, yoga ball - SNACKS DH: - phone - bathroom bag (same bag as above): toothbrush - 1 comfy outfit Baby: - 3 PJs (I don't pick a "going home outfit" because guaranteed my kid will puke/pee/poop on it) - cloth diapers of some amount (disposables I just "steal" from the hospital) - our massive flannel swaddle BLANKET (must have because I want the same pictures as I have of DD wrapped in it)

I had a week long stay with DD and was not prepared. Luckily we live close to the hospital so I just sent SO back and forth for things as needed. I'm having a RCS this time and if all goes well I should only be there for 1 night (released on the second) but I'm packing for longer just in case...
Me: Nursing Nightgown and Robe Sandals Brush/comb/elastic (I have really long hair) Face wash Toothpaste/toothbrush Travel size shampoo and conditioner Clothes to wear home Phone Charger
Baby: 2 sleepers A sleepsack (it is freezing in the hospital at night) Diapers/wipes
The hospital should provide pads, underwear, formula and feeding tube if needed, diapers, wipes, etc.

I think we ended up with a bunch of random stuff in our bag last time around that we didn’t use. This time:
-clothing changes for me and DH...not sure yet if this hospital is agreeable to me wearing my own clothes throughout. -toiletries for both -a couple baby outfits -diapers/wipes etc if not provided by hospital -chargers/phones, DH’s laptop if he wants it for some reason -snacks for both of us, and bottled water. Last time labor was overnight and poor DH really appreciated the nuts/dried fruit we packed to help him stay awake. undecided on what snacks I will potentially want during labor.
Not in the bag, but a travel mug of coffee for H if we think of it at the time.
I’ll probably bring our exercise ball. Last hospital had their own, pretty sure this one won’t.

I really need to pack a bag soon in case shit hits the fan. The hospital provided everything, I just bring a pillow and blanket from home and extra long phone chargers. I think it would be different if I was going to labor because I'd be there before baby longer but we didn't even bring my bag in until after we moved to our postpartum room because I had a scheduled c section
