Continuing with my spending frenzy, I'll likely be purchasing a washer & dryer with the 4th of July sales coming up. What do you have and why do you love/hate it?
My sister says she'll only buy washers with agitators because she doesn't feel like the others get the clothes as clean. Thoughts?

We have an Amana brand washer from Home Depot. Don't get this one. It supposedly "senses" how much water it needs, but it's never enough water. In the beginning I had clothes coming out of the washer with dry patches. No. So now I make sure to put everything on deep water wash to make sure it all gets clean. This is what we get for choosing the cheapest option. www.homedepot.com/p/Amana-3-5-cu-ft-Top-Load-Washer-in-White-NTW4516FW/207204027

I hate my LG front loader. The seal has mold in it even though o leave the door opened. The dryer leaves everything wet unless I put it on extra dry. I used to have to cheapest pieces of junk from Home Depot and I had no trouble.

I JUST bought a GE washer and dryer yesterday. Tim is picking up today. Why doesn't you DH like GE tgrimes ? I've always had pretty good luck with them although this is my first "new" washer and dryer I've ever purchased so we will see.

kim22 I hate front load too. My sister has one and it always stinks and gives all of her towels that wet rag smell. So gross.

We have this and the matching dryer. www.lg.com/us/washers/lg-WT1901CK-top-load-washerIt is a load sensing but I haven't had a problem. I've found that my delicates have held up better without having an agitator. The washer takes longer than I would expect but the dryer is very quick. I love it. The only issue we have found is that we need to do a tub clean weekly- which is a special wash cycle with bleach- or it smells a bit. It's recommended in the manual but we didn't do it and kept thinking we had some rotten egg smell coming from the plumbing. Now that we do it, its no problem at all.

We had a front loader at the vet clinic and the seal was always stinky and gross. No thank you!

We have Samsung front loaders. I have had no issues with them, except that one dryer problem that I fixed myself. I've never had any smell issues with the washer. My clothes come out clean.

mskatiep Our current washer/dryer & refrigerator are GE. He just doesn't feel like they're made as well as some other brands. I mean, the washer & dryer are over 10 years old and we only recently started having problems with them.

I agree with your sister on agitators. Definitely needs one.

Try convincing MH of that though.

I love our LG washer/dryer. It doesn't have an agitator which is what I wanted so I could wash our cal-king comforter. I'll get the model later

I don't like agitators bc I feel they are too damaging on the clothes plus it's annoying when clothes get wrapped all around it. I have a Samsung toploader and like chrisy01 mentioned, I like I can put our king duvet in it. The tub is huge!

I ❤ this thread, we're also buying a new washer/dryer soon. Our own home had whirlpool top load washer and dryer. Loved them, I might buy them again.

Those of you without agitators, do you feel like they still get the clothes as clean?

Those of you without agitators, do you feel like they still get the clothes as clean? Curious about this too. I HATE front loaders. It's what my parents have had for 15 years and I can't stand them. I want the top loader without the agitator since we have a king bed.

My machine has an agitator and I'm able to fit my king size duvet in there.
